Chapter 897: Admitting Mistakes
Ranita’s ears turned red as his face gradually came closer. She knew he was going to kiss her. Her mind suddenly felt warm. Ranita swallowed and put her hand on his lips, “Don’t kiss me… I’m afraid you won’t be able to stay calm.”
Now was not the right time. Ranita wanted to go home early to talk to Alexia.
Brendon chuckled softly, his Adam’s apple bobbing, “If I want to kiss you, you can’t stop me…”
Just as he finished speaking, Ranita’s phone rang. It was Ayaan calling.
“Mommy, when are you coming home?” Ayaan asked in a soft voice.
“Mommy will be home soon. What’s wrong?” Ranita glared at Brendon, signaling him to let her go so she could sit up.
Instead of moving, Brendon secretly kissed her cheek and then cleared his throat, “Ayaan, it’s Daddy.”
“Daddy!” Ayaan shouted excitedly, then suddenly pouted, “Daddy, you’re bad! Did you go out with Mommy?”
Ranita lightly kicked Brendon, who coaxed Ayaan, “Mommy and Daddy were discussing work today, not playing.”
Dinner was just incidental.
“Really? Daddy, you can’t lie to Ayaan.” Ayaan huffed, “If you lie to Ayaan, I’ll tell Mommy.”
Brendon laughed and secretly pinched Ranita’s soft waist, whispering mischievously in her ear, “Our son says he’ll tell on you.”
Ranita’s ears grew even hotter. She nudged Brendon’s chest with her elbow and whispered, “Stop laughing, or Ayaan will hear.”
“Mommy… what are you whispering to Daddy?!” Ayaan asked softly after a pause, “Mommy, I’m a little mad that you and Daddy went out without me.”
“Ayaan, your daddy is right! Mommy went to Daddy’s company to discuss a project today. Later, Daddy has a surprise for you.”
“What surprise? Is it a little brother or sister?” Ayaan asked excitedly.
Ranita quickly ended the call with her son. The phone was tossed onto the sofa by Brendon as he pressed her down beneath him, looking at her intently.
“Brendon…” Ranita felt her back heat up under his gaze, unsure where to place her hands and feet. “Get up.”Original content from NôvelDrama.Org.
“Ayaan said he wants a little brother or sister. Should we try?” Brendon couldn’t suppress his laughter.
He had been laughing a lot lately. When he was indifferent, he was as unapproachable as a high mountain flower; when he laughed, it was like spring rain melting snow, bringing life to everything.
Ranita’s heart was entirely occupied by him.
“You even listen to Ayaan! He’s just joking!” Ranita blushed. “Get up quickly; I need to go back.”
“Otherwise my mom will call soon.”
As soon as Ranita finished speaking, her phone dinged with a message. She glanced at it and handed it to Brendon, “See?”
“-Are you back? Mom has something to tell you.”
Brendon pursed his lips, looking very aggrieved, “Isn’t it said that mothers-in-law grow more fond of their sons-in-law the more they see them?”
Ranita nudged his knee with hers, her ears red, “What kind of son-in-law are you? Didn’t we get divorced? She wouldn’t acknowledge you!”
Brendon gritted his teeth and gently pinched her under her clothes.
“It really is my fault.” Brendon sighed, “Ranita… I’ll treat you well from now on.”
