Back in Time: Unshackling From Love (Mikayla Davidson)

Chapter 254

Chapter 254

“What are you doing? Are you going to leave me alone? Zachary said.

Jerome said sarcastically. “We lack manners, so we’re leaving early to not disturb your meal.”

“Jeroms, you’re quite something.” Zachary scoffed.

He stopped eating. Then he got up and left immediately.

Mikayla felt somewhat embarrassed.

The meal turned out to be a fiasco.

“Don’t bother about him,” Jerome said. “Are you still hungry?”

Mikayla shook her head. “I’m full.”

She couldn’t imagine how Jerome endured Zachary’s teaching when he was young.

He wasn’t as happy as one might think despite being born with a silver spoon.

Fortunately, she wouldn’t be a member of the Miller family for much longer. Otherwise, she might not meet Zachary’s expectations.

The next day, Mikayla and Jerome arrived at Wanda’s house.

Mikayla could feel her head throbbing in pain when she thought about Zachary’s attitude the night before.

If it weren’t for Wanda, Mikayla would’ve directly told Zachary, “I’d no longer be your daughter–in– law soon, please don’t try to change me.”

“Don’t worry. Grandma’s here. She’ll support you. Besides, Dad would always be late.” Jerome comforted her as he figured out what Mikayla was thinking.

Mikayla nodded. “Don’t you have work? You should get going.” Content held by NôvelDrama.Org.

Just as Jerome was about to leave, Wanda came out. She was delighted to see Mikayla.

“Kay, you’re here! Come over here quickly!” Wanda exclaimed.

Mikayla joyfully ran over to Wanda. “Grandma!”

“You finally came back,” Wanda said. “I was afraid you’d stand me up again.”

“Last time was my fault. I won’t do it again,” Mikayla apologetically said.

“That’s more like it. As a punishment, you’ll have to stay with me the whole day. You’re staying for the night too!” Wanda said.

Since Wanda had spoken, Mikayla agreed to it.

Mikayla thought she would’ve needed to help set up the venue, but the housekeeper had everything

sorted out.

She just had to spend time with Wanda. That’s all.

After lunch, Mikayla walked Wanda to her study.

The room had a nice scent of lavender. Soft music was playing in the background as well. Wanda had always liked reading.

Last time, she called Mikayla over and asked her to postpone her divorce in this same room.

In the blink of an eye, over 40 days had passed, and tomorrow was Wanda’s birthday.

She took out a book, and Mikayla helped her carry it.

Wanda asked, “Kay, have you not changed your mind yet?”

Mikayla couldn’t remember how many times Wanda had asked her this. Her answer remained firm.

Wanda lightly sighed and didn’t say anything else.

Mikayla looked at her and felt guilty.

She held her hand and said, “Grandma, don’t worry. If you don’t mind, I’ll still be your granddaughter. I’ll

come to visit you often.”

Wanda patted her hand but kept quiet.

“Oh right, I’ve prepared a gift for you. Since you’ll be busy tomorrow, I’ll give it to you today,” Mikayla said while handing a delicate bag to Wanda.

“These are the photos we took at our last gathering. I made them into an album for you. Since you love essential oil, this is a diffuser I bought for you. And these are aromatherapy sticks that I made to help you sleep better. The gifts may not be expensive, but I’ve prepared them all by myself,” Mikayla said.

Wanda accepted the gifts. “Thank you, Kay. I love them very much. But what I want most is for you to continue being my granddaughter–in–law.”

“Grandma, I…” Mikayla’s words were cut off when Jerome walked in.
