Richest Mogul 1208
Chapter 1208
It seemed that many people had known Skylar from the previous charity gala. Rosa had learned her name through others.
The intense feeling of unease that had surfaced then now returned.
She glanced sideways at Ned, noticing he was focused on Skylar. A wave of anxiety washed over her, and she quickly took his arm.
She said, “Ned, don’t you think we have some kind of fate with her? We just met yesterday. Now, here we are running into her again while out shopping.”
Jipsburg was a large city, not a small town. Sometimes, people even living in the same complex would rarely even cross paths, let alone in this situation.
Skylar nodded at them. She first met Ned’s gaze, then heard Rosa’s words. Her smile faded slightly as she replied in a neutral tone, “It does seem like fate.”
Ned stared at Skylar, a voice in his mind insisting that she shouldn’t be so indifferent when facing him. This sudden thought made him momentarily disoriented.
Noticing Ned staring at Skylar, Rosa felt uncomfortable. She glanced around and said, “I don’t think I like the dress styles here. Let’s find somewhere else to look around.”
* “Sure,” Ned replied. Just as they were about to leave, Minerva stepped out of the fitting room
and spotted Ned.
She had intended to show Skylar her outfit but was taken aback when she saw Ned. Her expression froze in surprise. She thought, “What… How did we run into each other again?”
She quickly turned to Skylar.
Skylar appeared unperturbed. After a night had passed, she had already begun to view Ned as a stranger. After all, he was not Joe–just someone who bore a resemblance to him.
“That dress looks much better than the previous ones. It really complements your fair complexion,” Skylar remarked, taken aback by Minerva’s stunning appearance.
Minerva nodded enthusiastically and said, “I think so too.”
“Why don’t you wear this one while you wait for your boyfriend? He’ll definitely be pleased when he sees it,” Skylar suggested.
Ned suddenly stopped in front of the door. He turned to look at Skylar, and his peripheral vision caught Minerva.
Minerva was wearing a long white gown that matched the color Skylar had worn yesterday.
To Ned, Skylar’s skin appeared even fairer, and he still vividly recalled how beautiful she had
looked the previous evening–her beauty was the kind that effortlessly stirred a man’s desires.
“Is something wrong, Ned?” Rosa asked when she noticed he had stopped. She followed his gaze and saw that he was once again looking at Skylar.
The way he gazed at her didn’t seem like he was looking at a stranger. Instead, it was the kind of intense gaze a man might give a woman who captured his heart.
Rosa’s expression changed abruptly and she quickly asked, “Ned, what’s going on?”
Her voice snapped him back to reality, pulling his attention away from Skylar as he walked out
with Rosa.
Minerva caught this entire exchange. After a moment of shock, she turned to Skylar and said, I can’t shake the feeling that Ned’s gaze toward you isn’t exactly innocent. Is he the type to be greedy, wanting what’s in front of him while still coveting something else?”
If Minerva were some naïve girl, that would be one thing. But as a woman, Minerva knew exactly what kind of intentions were in Ned’s eyes when he looked at Skylar. He desired her.
It was understandable. Someone as stunning as Skylar was a rare find. Most men couldn’t help but have impure thoughts.
Besides, after what happened last night when Skylar mistook him for someone else, it wasn’t impossible for Ned to have thoughts of getting closer to her.
Skylar chuckled lightly. “I’m not an item.” All text © NôvelD(r)a'ma.Org.
Minerva felt relieved at Skylar’s response.
