You Are My Mr Right

Chapter 104 Retribution

“Let go of my hand,” Freya struggled, speaking softly.

Elijah didn’t loosen his grip, enveloping her soft hand in his palm and lowering his head to kiss her lips. In the past, Freya would have resisted, but this time, she was surprisingly quiet and didn’t push him away. She even closed her eyes. Never before had Freya, in a moment like this, quietly felt someone’s breath and the surge of emotions that a kiss brought to her heart.

His kisses were soft, passionate, and lingering, irresistibly captivating. For the first time, Freya was so compliant, and Elijah wanted more. He was no longer satisfied with just kissing. His kisses kept deepening, attempting to gradually possess her.

His fingertips traced her collarbone, opening her neckline. The straps slipped off, and Freya felt a chill on her chest. She realized what Elijah was doing amidst the whirlwind of the kiss and hastily evaded, “No…”

Elijah’s gaze was dazed. “You enjoyed it just now, didn’t you?”

Freya denied, “I didn’t.”

“Is that so?” Elijah reached out and wiped the corner of her lips, with a hint of moisture, probably his own.

“Go out,” Freya, with an unsettled gaze, seemed to feel ashamed of her actions.

How could she willingly kiss him?

How could she!

She hated herself for it.

She bit her lip, shifting the blame onto Elijah, “You’re not allowed to get too close to me in the future, let alone seduce me.”

She felt she would become unlike herself because of Elijah’s teasing.

Elijah looked at her and smiled.

Freya, with a casual glance, almost fell into his charm again. This was the gentlest and most indulgent smile she had ever seen in the world. She quickly averted her gaze, thinking, this man was using his handsome face to charm her at every opportunity.

Suddenly, Linda knocked on the door, “Sir, someone downstairs is looking for Madam.”

“Who?” Elijah asked.

“He claims to be Madam’s younger brother.”

“Zane Stone?” Freya frowned.

Zane Stone had hit and run, but due to the relatively mild consequences, along with Leo Stone seeking for connection everywhere, he was released after two months.

Elijah asked, “Do you want to see him? If not, I’ll have him driven away.”

“I don’t want to see him.”

She had little interaction with this half-brother, and there was no special bond. Moreover, she disliked Yolanda, which extended to Zane Stone. So, there was no need to see him.

“Have him driven away,” Elijah said to the person outside.

“Yes.” Linda responded, and then her footsteps descended the stairs.

Freya suddenly thought of Leo Stone. That day, she saw his pale complexion and severe emaciation, clearly looking unwell. She didn’t know the specifics. Freya truly hated her father for using her, hated his disloyalty to her mother due to the extramarital affair. But thinking that he might be ill, there was still a trace of concern in her heart. Perhaps, this was the bond of blood.

Elijah, seeing her look worried, said, “If you want to see him, I can have him brought in.”

Freya shook her head, “No.”Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org exclusive © material.

Her melancholy had nothing to do with Zane.

Linda came upstairs again and stood outside the door. “He doesn’t want to leave. He was driven away but came back, saying he won’t leave until he sees Madam.” She reported.

Elijah opened the door, ready to handle it personally.

Freya stopped him. “I’ll see him myself.”

She wondered why Zane Stone was looking for her.

She attempted to stand up, and Elijah walked over, lifting her into his arms. Freya still felt uneasy, but her arm rested on his shoulder.

They went downstairs, and Zane was soon brought in.

“Freya.” He called as soon as he entered.

Freya’s face remained expressionless, and there was no emotional fluctuation upon hearing the term. She asked, “You want to see me. What’s the matter?”

“You’re a doctor. You must know many skilled specialists. Can you find someone for Dad? He’s seriously ill, and without surgery, he might not live much longer.” Zane said, his voice choking up.

A tall, sunlit young man appeared somewhat worn out at the moment. Freya’s heart tightened. She had suspicions, but hearing it still shook her.

“What did the doctor say? What illness is it?” she asked in a lowered voice.

“Brain cancer, malignant, it has spread to the lungs.” Zane said.

Freya was stunned. “How… How did this happen?”

“Freya, you have connections. Help Dad find a good doctor. Maybe there’s still a chance.” Zane said anxiously.

Freya knew, with metastasis to the lungs, it was likely in the late stage and malignant. Even with surgery, the odds weren’t great. Seeing her silent, Zane questioned, “What? You don’t want to save Dad?”

Freya needed to calm down. “Go back for now.”

Zane perceived her attitude as harboring resentment towards Leo Stone, not wanting to save him.

“In your marriage matter, maybe Dad acted unilaterally or wronged you, forced you. But he’s the one who raised you. He’s seriously ill now, possibly on the brink of death. Are you so heartless that you won’t extend a helping hand?” Zane accused.

Freya coldly replied, “Heartless? Do you think I’m a deity? It’s late-stage and malignant, finding anyone won’t make a difference!”

Zane angrily shouted, “Freya, you heartless person! You’ll face retribution for not helping when death befalls you!”

Freya remained indifferent. “Even if there’s retribution, it will fall on me. Why get so angry?”

“I’m angry not because you’ll face retribution but because you’re heartless. Without Dad, you wouldn’t even have the chance to come into this world, you heartless wretch!”

Elijah frowned, watching Zane berate Freya as if he didn’t exist. He made a low sound, instructing someone to escort Zane out.

Freya didn’t intervene, just watched as Zane was dragged away, yelling. After he left, her tensed expression sagged. Sorrow and melancholy enveloped her. Despite all her resentment towards Leo Stone, hearing about his severe illness still caused a twinge in her heart. After calming down for a while, she picked up her phone. She knew a specialist in this field. The call connected, but no one answered, so she hung up.

“Do you want me to help?” Elijah asked.

Freya shook her head. “No.”

She intended to find the specialist herself, not wanting to trouble Elijah.

“Don’t hesitate to ask if you need help.” Asked Elijah.

Freya looked at him. A fleeting moment of emotion crossed her eyes. Elijah was overly gentle; any woman would be captivated. She was a flesh-and-blood person with emotions. She busied herself, lowering her head. “Thank you.”

“No problem.” Elijah said.

Suddenly, the atmosphere between them changed, and mutual politeness replaced the previous tension. The interaction was noticeably more harmonious than before.

The next day, with the help of Linda and the driver, Freya went out in a wheelchair. To seek help, she needed to bring some gifts. Since she had money from selling paintings and quite a bit of it, she decided to buy a precious gift. She planned to purchase a high-quality tea set as the expert she knew had a liking for tea. She picked a unique purple clay teapot, though a bit pricey.

She directly said, “Wrap it up for me and swipe this card.”

Freya handed over the card Elijah had given her. The waiter, upon seeing the black and gold card, respectfully accepted it. While waiting, Freya casually asked, “How much is left in there?”

The waiter said, “There’s no limit on this card, you can spend however much you want.”

Did she hear it wrong?

“What? How much can be spent?”
