Chapter 1167 Another Conflict
"Little Bunny, I'm not trying to put you in a difficult position by asking you to clear Addison's name in
front of the public. It could affect your reputation. What I'm asking is for you to help save him through
Theodore and give him his innocence back," pleaded Yuna sincerely. "I've heard about your
relationship with Theodore from Addison himself, and I can't think of anyone else who can help us
now."
"Since you know about my relationship with Theodore, then you should also know that it's not a
legitimate one. There's no guarantee that he'll be able to help me out even if I ask him. Plus, he has a
lot of animosity towards me and Addison's relationship." Little Bunny replied hesitantly.
"I understand that it might be difficult for him to agree, but please try anyway," Yuna said helplessly. "I
wouldn't have come directly to bother you if there were any other options available. Even though things
might not work out as we hope, at least we tried our best for Addison."
Little Bunny wanted nothing more than to help Addison but was hesitant when she thought about
involving Theodore.
"Just give it a shot, okay, Little Bunny? Even if it doesn't work out, I won't blame you for anything." Yuna
continued persuading her.
"Okay fine... but don't get your hopes up too high."
"Thank you so much! If there's anything else that comes up in the future where I can assist later on
down the line, just let me know!" Yuna exclaimed gratefully before hanging up the phone.
After ending the call herself as well, Little Bunny felt anxious inside because she didn't believe that
Theodore would lend her any assistance at all. She could already imagine how angry he would become
upon hearing her request. She feared that instead of helping Addison clear his name, things could
potentially become worse than they already were.
She couldn't take such risks, but she had promised Yuna. However, she had another option in mind-
Theodore's father, Laird Wold.
During their divorce proceedings years ago, Laird had told her explicitly, "If ever anything is troubling or
bothering you, feel free to reach out."
Despite all this time passing since then and despite how poorly things had gone for her within the
entertainment industry over these past few years, never once did she consider reaching out or calling
upon Laird's offer. After all, why should someone noble like him owe her any favours?
But now, other than Laird, no one would help her. Laird's help was an ace-in-the-hole type backup plan
for herself since she thought when Theodore pushed her to the limit and she couldn't take it anymore,
she would go to ask Laird for help. She didn't expect that it was for Addison. She knew deep down that
asking Laird for help was a one-time opportunity. She didn't want to trouble him too much.
Little Bunny took a deep breath and picked up the phone to call him. Laird answered quickly, his tone
gentle as he said, "Hello, Little Bunny."
"Hello, Mr Wold."
Laird sighed since she wasn't his daughter-in-law anymore.
"It's late. Do you need something from me or do you want to talk with Nicholas?" His attitude towards
her was completely different from Theodore's.
"I have something I need your help with." Little Bunny said hesitantly.
"Tell me. I'm listening." He replied kindly.
Little Bunny finally gathered the courage to tell him about Addison's situation and their relationship with
Theodore. She didn't want to hide anything from Laird.
After hearing everything, Laird couldn't help but sigh again, "Theodore not only doesn't respect you but
also prevents you from pursuing your happiness."
Little Bunny didn't know how to respond properly.
"Alright then, I'll find out more about Addison and give you my answer later." Laird agreed decisively.
"Thank you, Mr Wold." Little Bunny breathed a sigh of relief as they hung up the phone.
Laird had always been easygoing. Little Bunny just didn't want to bother him unnecessarily.
In her room, Little Bunny watched news reports on Addison's scandal, which seemed like it was getting
worse by the minute in showbiz circles. So many people were criticizing Addison online that it made her
angry.
Suddenly there came a knock on the door outside of her room.
When Little Bunny opened it up, there stood Theodore who asked, "Did you ask my father for help
investigating Addison?"
A little panicked, she forgot to let Laird not tell Theodore yet.
"My dad has connections, but it's me who's in charge now and I have more people. He didn't tell me, Content is © 2024 NôvelDrama.Org.
someone came to report to me."
Little Bunny had also considered that Theodore might agree.
"You believe my dad over me?" Theodore asked her sarcastically.
"I just don't want to cause trouble for you." She told a lie.
"So you'd rather cause trouble for my dad?"
Little Bunny fell silent at his cold remark.
"When are you going, to be honest with me?!" Theodore asked coldly.
"This is the information on Addison that you wanted. Look at it yourself." Theodore threw the file he had
just received from someone at her and left without another word. He was angry but didn't express it
fully.
At this moment, there was no way for Little Bunny to apologize to him. She was more concerned about
Addison's situation instead. She quickly opened the file and read its contents.
It was clear from multiple witnesses' testimonies that Addison had been caught using drugs by the
police and was currently under administrative detention. The testimony unanimously stated that
Addison voluntarily used drugs without being forced or framed while drunk; he did so while conscious
of his actions. If this were true, then Addison would be guilty of drug use.
As she read through the document, she became visibly upset. She couldn't believe this result.
Holding onto the file tightly in her hand, she walked straight into the living room where Theodore sat
smoking a cigarette and said firmly, "It can't be true! These witnesses must have colluded together
against him. Addison is being set up!"
"Do you believe him?" Theodore asked as he extinguished his cigarette slowly.
"Absolutely."
Theodore extinguished the cigarette and continued calmly, "Do you think Northfield police are all
pushovers? Their investigation skills are far superior than most people think, they have extensive
experience and expertise in anti-investigation techniques too. Do you think they wouldn't know if these
witness statements were genuine or not?"
