Chapter 37
Chapter 37 It Didn't Work
Leah hung up the phone without waiting for Quentin's response.
When Quentin tried calling again, it showed that his number had been blocked.
His face turned livid, and he clenched his phone tightly as he hissed,
"Leah, you're good!"
Sharon said soothingly, "Quentin, don't get angry. It's all my fault. If it weren't for me, you and Miss Wilson wouldn't have ended up like this. Feel free to scold me if you're upset, but please don't let your anger overwhelm you."
Quentin suppressed the anger surging within him and calmly said, "I'll find another lawyer for you. Whether you win or lose, that's beyond my control."
Sharon feigned a considerate look and nodded gently. "Thank you, Quentin. Your consideration means a lot to me."
"Alright," Quentin replied. "I have an important meeting to attend soon. You should head back."
He then turned to Eli, who was standing in the corner. "Eli, escort her downstairs."
"Of course," Eli responded and walked over to Sharon. "Miss Foster, please."
"Quentin, I'll be leaving now. Take care, and don't push yourself so hard," Sharon advised him softly before leaving with Eli.
Once she got into the car, her gentle and submissive expression disappeared completely, replaced by a gloomy look.
Sharon's assistant, who had been waiting in the car, noticed her unsettling demeanor and inquired, "Sharon? Why do you look so upset? Did something go wrong with the situation?"
"Wrong is an understatement. That bitch Leah is driving me crazy!" Sharon hissed, her tone dripping with venomous hatred.
The assistant grew nervous. "What do you mean? What did Leah do? Are you saying that not even Mr. Worthington can deal with this?"
Before Sharon could respond, her phone, which had been left in her bag, began ringing incessantly.
She picked up her phone and glanced at the screen. It was a call from a recently signed luxurious brand's client.
Sharon knew they were calling to question her about the online incident. She felt anxious and fearful but didn't want to deal with it, so she asked her assistant to answer the call
"You... You should take the call and see what they have to say."
The assistant reluctantly accepted the task.
"Hello, Mr. Baxter."
"What's going on with you guys? We just paid the endorsement fee, and you've already caused such a commotion. Can we still work together or not?"
"I'm really sorry about this. We'll do our best to resolve the issue as soon as possible. Please accept our apologies," the assistant kept apologizing.ConTEent bel0ngs to Nôv(e)lD/rama(.)Org .
"You have one day to provide a satisfactory solution. Otherwise, you'll be in breach of contract, and we'll demand three times the penalty fee," the other party declared before hanging up.
The assistant turned to Sharon and said anxiously,
"Sharon, this is our first major endorsement deal. And if they
cancel our cooperation, it could net
seriously impact your future career. We need to find a way to fix this."
"As if I'm not aware of that! The problem is we can't even hire a lawyer right now. Tell me, what should I do?" Sharon's face was twisted in frustration and anger. Just then, the assistant's phone vibrated suddenly.
She glanced down at her phone, and her face turned pale abruptly.
"Sharon, the housekeeper just called. She said she found a legal letter in our mailbox!"
