Alpha Twins And Their Hybrid Mate

Chapter 22

TWINS POV

After Ella left, the twins waited for her to be out of sight before they shifted back into their human selves and stood there staring at the forest that she walked into.

Nathan had a really saddened look on his face while Tristan looked angrier.

"She's still going to fucking leave. She's leaving and abandoning us." Tristan yelled.

"Did you hear anything else she said?" Nathan asked.

"What?" Tristan asked.

"The amount of shit that your bitch of a girlfriend has been doing to her. It's more than we realized. And what about her house? Her stepdad is always trying to touch her. Her mother abuses her." Nathan said, getting angrier with every word he said.

"Yeah, Nathan. I heard all of that." Tristan said, lowering his voice. Finally realizing what sort of situation their mate is truly in.

"I think we might still be able to convince her to stay." Nathan said, getting a little sparkle in his eye. He definitely had something in mind.

"How? How the hell is that going to happen?" Tristan asked.

"I think we need to start with her home. We need to talk to her mother and stepfather. Find out what's really going on there." Nathan suggested.

"Alright. Do we even know who these parents are?" Tristan asked.

"No. But I know someone who does." Nathan said, walking over to a tree and grabbing a bag with his clothes in it and he pulled out his phone and he put it on speaker so they could both hear it.

"Hello." Wendy answered.

"I need to know Ella's parent's names." Nathan said. He could hear a bit of hesitation in Wendy's voice and how she wasn't willing to answer him straight away. "Wendy. I asked you a question." Nathan said, more sternly than before. Letting her know who was Alpha around here.

"I talked to Ella this morning. She said that she was over you. She didn't even want me to mention your names to her. Honestly, it sounded like it hurt when she heard your names." Wendy said.

"Are you sure that's what it was?" Tristan asked, sounding concerned himself. Nathan looked at him with a smirk on his face, knowing that Tristan was starting to feel something for Ella. He just wasn't going to admit it. He just wanted to focus on the curse.

"I know what that sort of pain feels like. She might not know that she's a wolf, but she has the pull towards you two. And no doubt she saw Tristan with Leia last night and Nathan was nowhere to be seen when that guy drugged her and tried to rape her.” Wendy said, trying to be as careful about what she said as possible. Knowing that we were her Alpha's and that she had to be careful about what she said. But also knowing how Ella felt as well.

"Just tell us what we want to know. We know that she lives in that condemned building outside of town. If we hurry, we might make it to her house before her." Nathan said.

The area that Ella lived in was so isolated that patrols don't even go out past there.

"What are her parents' names?" Nathan asked, getting frustrated.

"Marilyn and Jack. She calls her mother by her first name and I don't think she likes Jack too much. Or her mother." Wendy said.

"We already know that." Tristan snapped.

"Yes, Alpha." Wendy said. Nathan looked at Tristan, warning him to calm down. He can't lose his shit while talking to a couple of humans. That would be bad.

Once they got off the phone they shifted back into their wolves and picked up their bags in their mouths and went running through the woods, in the opposite direction to where Ella was going.

They weren't sure if she was heading straight home, but if she was, she was taking the long way. The twins knew a much quicker way through the woods.

They ran until they reached a house on route 5 and it was the only house that they had seen.

They shifted while in the tree line and put some clothes on and stood there staring at the two story bare wood house that was missing boards from around the side of the house and there were even a couple of broken windows and the patio and front stairs didn't look like they had much more in them. They were just about to step out from the treeline when they heard a car pull into the driveway and Ella got out of it.

It looked like her boss from the diner must have given her a lift home. But he stopped at the end of the driveway and Ella walked the rest of the way.

Maybe she stopped in at work before she came here.noveldrama

She walked up the stairs and inside the front door and the twins heard something smash against the wall.

"Where the fuck have you been?" Marilyn yelled.

"I was at work." Ella said.

"You sneak in and out of this house whenever the fuck you feel like it and you completely neglect all of your chores around here." Marilyn yelled. Nathan let out a little growl upon hearing this fight break out. Tristan had to put his hand on his chest to stop him from charging at the house.

"What chores? The house is a piece of crap? Why bother trying to clean it?" Ella asked.

"Because it would be nice to have clean clothes every now and again. Clean dishes to eat off of." Marilyn yelled.

"Jack sits around drinking all day. Get him to wash your clothes. And as for the dishes, I'm not even allowed to use them because I'm not allowed to eat your food. So, why should I have to clean up after you?" Ella asked. And the twins heard a loud slap as Marilyn slapped Ella across the face.

Nathan and Tristan both let out a growl and they started walking to the front door trying not to fall through the patio as they stood on it.

Tristan pounded on the door and when it opened they were faced with a man that looked like he was in his 50's or so, but could have been younger than that. He was wearing a gross old stained singlet that reeked of stale beer and a pair of jeans.

Marilyn came out of the kitchen and saw the twins standing there and she was taken aback when she first saw them.

"Who are you?" She asked. That's when Ella walked out of the kitchen and she saw the twins.

Her eyes almost popped out of her head and she squeezed through Jack and Marilyn and tried to push the twins away from the door.

"What are you two doing here? I told you that we can work on that school assignment on Monday when we get to school." Ella said, giving them a look which was telling them to play along. The twins hesitated for a moment because they really wanted to say something to those parents of hers, but they relented.

"Well, there were a few things that we needed to sort out because we didn't quite understand it." Tristan said, his eyes were still fixated on Jack and Marilyn.

Nathan then grabbed Ella's chin with his thumb and forefinger and saw the bright red mark on her cheek from where she had just been slapped.

He looked back at Marilyn with a menacing and terrifying look.

Ella, looking more ashamed than anything else, moved his hand away from her face and tried to hide the mark on her cheek. She didn't want them to see it. And she didn't want the twins to see her pathetic home life. Not even her house. Not after seeing what they live in.

"Who said that you could come to my house?" Ella yelled at them. They both looked at her in shock, but she kept her head down and they could see that her other cheek was starting to turn red and she looked like she was ready to cry. She was humiliated. The twins could see that. She never wanted them to see this side of her. To see what she had to put up with at home.

"We told you that we needed to talk to you." Nathan said, softly. "Why? What do you want from me? I'm not some damsel in distress that needs to be saved by you. If you feel like you need to be a savor then go and save your precious Leia. Go and marry her like everyone wants. She wants to act like she needs saving. So go and pretend to save her." Ella yelled at them as she was finally getting them down the stairs and she was following them. Leaving Marilyn and Jack standing at the door watching the whole spectacle. Ella actually sounded like she was jealous of Leia. Tristan found that a little amusing since Ella was always telling them to leave her alone.

"Ella. You're not some damsel in distress to me. I really do care about you." Nathan said.

"Then where were you?" Ella asked, a lot softer.

"What do you mean?" He was very confused.

"I turned around and you were gone. I turned around for a minute to get a drink and you were gone. But Jared was there." She said, still looking at the ground.

"He was in the kitchen with you?" Nathan asked.

"He spiked my drink when I looked away as kids were fighting outside. He took me upstairs. You weren't there." Ella said, a lot softer now. It sounded like she was trying to hold back the tears that were threatening to come out.

"It was Leia's friend. She said that one of her other friends was in trouble and needed my help. When I came back, you were gone." Nathan said. "Why should I believe you? No one in this town has given me any reason to trust them." Ella said. Meanwhile, Tristan was standing there listening to the whole conversation. Listening to Nathan try and talk to Ella while she was talking to him horribly. Blaming him for her almost getting raped. She did say that she was told they were in on it. But they weren't and she took the word of that rapist over us. "Who the hell do you think you are?" Tristan asked.

"Tristan." Nathan warned.

"No. I am not going to keep putting up with this shit. You have absolutely no right

to speak to us like that." Tristan said. His true Alpha coming out now, showing Ella what he was really like.

"If being gentle with you doesn't work, then we will resort to anger." Tristan threatened as he got in Ella's face. But Nathan pulled Tristan away as Ella sneered at him.

"Just leave. And don't ever come back here." Ella said, turning around and walking back into the house.

Marilyn and Jack were still watching from the door and Ella ran straight past them and up the stairs.

Tristan and Nathan walked towards the woods, but Nathan stopped when he realized that he could see in Ella's bedroom.

She was looking for something and they climbed a tree outside her window to see

what she was doing.

She was digging around under her bed, looking for something.

She finally pulled out an old style tin lunch box and she sat on her bed and

opened it.

The look on her face was something that the twins would never forget. It was sadness, fear, tears. Ella threw the tin across the room. Tears were pouring from her eyes, but the twins could tell that she was trying to keep it together. She was trying to stop herself from crying. She took a couple of deep long breaths and wiped her face before she stood up and she left her bedroom.
