Chapter 38: Medicine
Good news indeed.
Kate needed to hear that.
Andre was surprised that she was able to agree without them having to argue over it.
Wow!
Anita then picked up her bag and went out before him.
In the car, Anita placed her head to rest with her eyes closed as she wished to her home fast. She was feel a bit dizzy, plus her head was banging.
Andre turned to at her. It was then he noticed that something was wrong with Anita.
Why is her brow creased? He asked himself, tapping her softly to get her attention.
“Andre, just drive!” she muttered, not wanting to discuss anything.
“I got you, but what is wrong? Are you okay?” he asked her.
Anita froze as her eyes flew open.
“Umm I’m perfectly fine. You don’t have to worry. I just need to get home please.”
“But you’re hot. Look, seems like you’re running a fever. Why are you touching your forehead?” he said as he touch her head.
Oh shit! Her fever was super high.
“When did this start?” he asked.
Succumbing to him, “this morning.” she answered.
“And you still came to work?” he asked in wonder.
How could she be endangering her health like this?
He knew the reason she hard to risk it all but he decided to hold his peace. Turning the car, he headed straight to the City’s hospital.
She needed to get treated before things would turn bad.
When they got to the clinic, the doctor inspected her and gave her some medicines that would help her heal since it was just a minor case.
“You should get more rest and not over work yourself anymore.” he advised them both and they left as soon as they were done.
“There is no need to be with a man who clearly does not care. Feel free to always take your leave when necessary. It’s a relationship, not a cult.” he spat and drove the car away.
Anita thought about his words for sometimes and chooses to let it go. She didn’t think Thomas does not care. If he doesn’t, he wouldn’t offer to help lift her career.
Andre was so serious that in minutes, they arrived at Anita’s doorstep.
“I will go now. Have a beautiful night. Don not forget to take your drugs.” he advised her.
Anita could only look. She was speechless.
When Anita walked into her house, Kate was applying ointment on her hair.
Immediately she spotted Anita walking in, she jumped up in surprise as she quickly took her bag away.
“I told you to call me when you are done. Why stress yourself so much?” she asked, wondering why Anita always preferred the hard way instead.
“It’s not me this time. Andre took me to the hospital after offering to bring me back home.” she told her friend.
“Oh that’s so gentlemanly of him.”
“Yes, he is very nice and he cares so much.” Anita agreed, shocking Kate.
Kate really wanted to say something, but she then decided to reserve her comment.
“How was today’s work?”
“Today’s work was great. I thank God!”
“Gist me!” Kate urged.
When Anita her request for gists, it amused her. “Not me and you.” she muttered and tried to leave, but was held back by Kate.
“Please Anita!” she begged.
“There was really nothing special. I expected you to watch our company’s live video earlier. Hmm it was tough. I don’t even know where to start from in Thanking God for my life.” she said and started narrating everything that had happened and how Andre managed to help her run out of the environment.
“Andre is indeed a strong guy.”

“I made dinner. I will serve you some asap.”
While they are their dinner, Thomas came into Anita’s mind.
“Did you call your man today?” she asked.
“I did after you left, but no one answered.” she said and at that moment, Anita started feeling sorry for her girlfriend.
At the other side of the state in a dimly lit hotel room sat Lord Lin, Thomas, Liam and a few other men as they discussed their actions.
After some hours, it was already in the middle of the night when they stood up to carry out their business plan.
The team got into a single black deep and headed towards a burial home that was very far away from the busy areas.
By the time they arrived there, the clients were already there and waiting to perform their exchange.
“Greetings Lord Lin” they greeted as they watched him approached them.
“I hope I came at the right time!” he said to as he touched the tip of his black walking stuck in the floor with a smile on his face.
After assuring that everything was good, he ordered his men to move the whole drugs to them while he received bags of money from them in exchange.
The clients confirmed the drugs while Lord Lin had Thomas to confirm the cash and by the time they were done, it was already 1am. It was then the men then took their leave.
The next morning, Kate’s phone rang repeatedly that she had no choice but to sit up to see who it was that couldn’t let her have a quiet morning. When she saw who it was, she jumped up from her bed and hurriedly washed her mouth and face.
By the time she was done, the phone had stopped ringing. Taking a deep breath, she turned to leave, but then it rang again. Without wasting another second, she hurriedly picked it up.
“Good morning Baby!” Liam greeted.
Kate didn’t know what to answer other than to nod her head. Her voice was already choked up that she really wanted to cry.
“Hear me out baby! I know I was wrong. I shouldn’t have left you for days without calling, but there was so much to do on my end.” he explained, sounding so innocent.
