Lowering his head, he bit down hard on her lips.

"Ouch, it hurts!" Pushing him, Carolien grimaced in pain.

The next second, her delicate chin fell into a strong palm. "I don't like other people touching what's mine. Be good or I'll make you suffer!"

She felt like he was going to crush her entire body. For the first time, Carolien clearly felt the hostility from his body. Carolien's eyes softened a little because of

nervousness.

"Okay, I heard you. I won't forget. I have a great memory, so I won't forget a thing!"

"Can he let go now? It really hurts!"

It was fortunate that she hadn't gotten plastic surgery on her chin. Otherwise, he would've completely ruined her filler.

She blinked her eyes, her long eyelashes fluttered flirtatiously. Only then did Elijah slowly retract his hand. "Remember my words. Don't just keep playing dumb with me here!"

Carolien was afraid that he would hurt her again. This time, she took the initiative to stick a little closer to him and tucked her chin into his neck.

"So you don't let me dance with other people, and you won't let me dance for other people either... Previously, she couldn't go onstage. Life was not easy. It was her principle to make money when she could.

Her bar was pure entertainment. They didn't sell drugs of any kind. The only reason it had been holding well so far was based on her luck. This opportunity seemed like a good one for her to grab.

Elijah gave her a sidelong glance and didn't say anything.

"Mm?"

Carolien hooked his neck like a spoiled child and arched forward. "Just say yes."

"One round. Not more than half an hour!"

As soon as Elijah gave in, Carolien almost jumped on top of him. "Yay! I knew you were the best!"

She lowered her head and kissed his cheek. Seeing the lipstick mark on it, she wiped it for him with a smile.

Her heart was completely melted and he couldn't help himself. Elijah grabbed the back of her head and stole a sweet kiss. After holding her for a while, he reluctantly pushed her away and stood up. He raised his hand and pinched her cheeks affectionately.

"I have to go back today! Tomorrow, I will ask Hudson to come around. Wait for me at Peakview!"

"Well, okay!"

He tidied up his suit. Carolien bent over and took a piece of tissue to wipe the lipstick on his lips. "Did you drink? I'll get a designated driver to send you back later!"

The most common concern was often the most touching. Unintentionally, Carolien had tugged on Elijah's heartstrings.

After holding her, Elijah kissed her on the forehead, and then touched her nose.

As soon as he finished washing and went downstairs, he heard some noises coming from the kitchen. When he approached, he saw a busy figure inside. Suddenly, his eyes fell on the back of the woman.

After having fried some bacon, Carolien fried a few more eggs and prepared breakfast. When she turned around, she saw a big black

shadow blocking the door. "Are you awake? I was just about to call you! It's still early, let's eat breakfast before leaving!"

She had prepared it in advance according to his schedule. After all, they barely saw each other even on the weekends. Thus, she tried to make a good impression when she could.

However, it was hard to put in effort when she didn't have much to work with. Fortunately, she found some frozen bacon in the fridge that hadn't expired. Otherwise, they would have to starve.

Turning around, she poured him a cup of coffee and served the bacon and eggs. She also made a quick salad. Then, she went back to the kitchen to serve up a bowl of porridge.

"I didn't buy any groceries yesterday, so this is all we're having!" Knowing that her culinary skills weren't bad, Elijah didn't complain either. He sat down but he didn't move. "You're being oddly hardworking today."

"Do you want a favor from me or something?"

"Am I only allowed to cook for you when I'm asking you for something?" Carolien was a little unhappy. She got up directly and picked up the plate in front of him. "Then don't eat it!"

The day had just begun and she was already unusually annoyed. After all, she had never even asked him for anything before in the first place!

He grabbed the other side of the plate after realizing that his tone might have

been hurtful. "Okay, okay. I misspoke!"

He snatched the plate back. He deliberately took two big bites, but the atmosphere seemed to freeze. Carolien didn't say a word during the meal.

Although Elijah gobbled up almost everything, Carolien acted as if he had seen nothing. She had lost her earlier energy. Even while keeping the dishes, she was absent-minded and slow.
