Chapter 22
The spinach omelet, fried shrimp, and grilled mushroom with beef were simple dishes. They were neither luxurious nor exquisite, but they made people feel warm and increased one's appetite. Please check at N/ôvel(D)rama.Org.
After sitting down, the two of them began to eat. As usual, the color, aroma, and taste of the food were great. It made their appetite voracious.
Alicia picked up a few mushrooms after eating some vegetables. She then noticed that there were two pieces of fatty meat hidden beneath the mushrooms. She didn't want to waste food, but she was embarrassed to put them back. Looking at Frederick, she placed them on his plate.
"Have some meat and you'll grow!" Alicia said.
She pretended to be oblivious to what she had done and continued to eat.
Seeing that he didn't throw the meat away and ate them eventually, an inexpressible emotion surged in Alicia's heart instantly. Finally, she finished the few mushrooms on her plate. She set down her fork and spoon, then began to eat the shrimps on the plate. She had always enjoyed eating shrimps. They were so fresh and delicious. Thus, she peeled them very quickly with her fingers.
After eating two shrimps, her hands were greasy and the corners of her mouth were stained with oil. Frederick set down his fork and spoon, then glanced at her.
"I've never seen a woman eat like this before!" He teased.
However, Alicia did not mind at all and continued to peel the shrimp. She only cared about her stomach while she was enjoying the delicious food. However, she used too much strength and splashed some gravy on her hands. Afraid of dirtying her clothes, she pouted at him.
"Um, urn..."
She was still chewing the food in her mouth. Hence, she glanced at the tissue box, indicating Frederick to fetch it for her. With a disgusted look, Frederick took a sheet of tissue and wiped it for her.
"Clumsy!"
After a while, he also joined in peeling shrimps, but his actions were elegant and his speed was fast. Even the shrimp shells on his plate seemed to have been arranged neatly. Alicia felt some admiration in an instant.
"It is like he is born a noble! He can do anything as easily as he wants, and he is also very composed!" she thought to herself.
In the end, when she even got a few more shrimps from him, she was on cloud nine.
Alicia washed all the plates voluntarily after the wonderful meal and then went to the bathroom to clean herself up. When Frederick went back to the room, it was already half-past ten. He removed his headphones when he saw Alicia about to take a rest, showing his annoyance.
"Go take a bath!" he ordered.
"I've already taken a bath!" Alicia replied. She thought that she was stinky because she touched a fair amount of shrimps. Hence, she raised her hand and sniffed it. "There's a faint jasmine fragrance! I smell good," she praised herself.
"Take a bath again! You smell like cheap perfume."
Alicia almost blew up in fury. He planted a lot of jasmine flowers at his own house, and yet he disliked the jasmine fragrance on her body?
His brain must have been clamped by the door before!
Kneeling on her knees, she rolled up her sleeves and stretched out her fair arm, asking, "Are you sure? Smell it again! I've already cleaned myself! How can it be?"
Frederick leaned back to avoid her, but she kept moving forward. She didn't know whether she had stepped on her clothes or was tripped by something else and fell on him with a thud.
"Ah!"
Fortunately, Alicia did not fall to the ground. However, one of her hands swept over him and touched somewhere accidentally. She seemed to have been burned by something and withdrew her hand immediately. Then, she rolled out of bed and ran away like a refugee.
"I'm going to take a bath," Alicia shouted.
Reaching the bathroom, she shut the door and looked at her hand, her face turned red like a tomato. "How embarrassing!"
In the end, she went to take a cold shower and hid in the bathroom for a long time before she fiddled with her hand and lowered her head while walking out. Her cheeks were still blushing. Just as she was thinking about what to say, she looked up and saw that Frederick had fallen asleep. She then let out a long breath and crept into the bed soundlessly.
