Billionaire’s Missing Darling

Chapter 44

Chapter 44

When Olivia came out of the laboratory, it was already past two in the afternoon. She had not come out to eat at noon and was extremely hungry now.

Susan was an outstanding assistant. She immediately brought a warm takeaway over. Other than Olivia’s portion, she also brought food for her classmates in the laboratory.

When Susan started to work here, Mr. Book said that Olivia was a genius and that her time was tight. She might not be able to handle her social life. He asked Susan to keep an eye on it and build a good relationship with the people around Olivia.

She could not be afraid of spending money. He would reimburse Susan. Olivia sat in the lounge and ate. Susan poured her a cup of hot water and sat beside her. She whispered, “Olivia, Liam called and said that your aunt is back. They want you to go back as soon as possible.”

Aunt?

Olivia’s hand that was holding the fork paused. She had heard William mention that this aunt doted on her a lot, but she was overseas and could not be contacted.

Regardless of whether her aunt doted on her or not, her aunt was still an elder. She had to go back.

Olivia quickly finished the takeout and gathered everyone for a meeting to guide them on the next steps of the experiment. Then, she went home and changed her clothes before returning to the Taylor family with

Susan.

The Taylor family residence was near the foot of the mountain. It was very large and was surrounded by a tourist area. However, only a portion of the tourist area was open. The remaining was used by the Taylor family.

This was because the higher–ups had stipulated that the area of the private residence could not be too big.

However, since there were policies, there were countermeasures. Moreover, an old wealthy family like the Taylor family had many ways to deal with it. Since the private residence could not be too big, they would build a tourist area. There were hospitals, resort hotels, and beautiful “office areas“.

Private hospitals and resort hotels were open to the public, and the “office area” was where the Taylor family lived. It was a certain distance from the hospital and hotel.

When Susan arrived at the gate, she was stopped. It was Olivia who rolled down the window. Only when the guard saw that it was Miss Olivia did he let her in.

The guard in the lead stepped forward. “Miss Olivia, will you take this car often in the future? If you do, we’ll register it and you can pass through directly.”

Olivia’s eyes flashed slightly. After thinking quietly for a while, she said, “I will take this car often recently.” This is property © NôvelDrama.Org.

“Understood.” The guard nodded. “Take care, Miss Olivia.”

The car entered the scenic area and drove to a place near the mansion. The servant led the car into the basement. Olivia got out of the car and slowly walked toward the mansion.

There were electronic devices along the way, and there was no one else. When it scanned Olivia’s face from two yards away, the door opened automatically.

There were many green belts in the mansion of the Taylor family. It was surrounded by rich green and expensive trees.

Olivia was wearing soft flat shoes, stepping quietly through the grass. She walked forward slowly. Step by step, she suddenly heard a familiar voice. She stopped.

“Why are you always unhappy?” The man’s voice was a little lazy.

“That’s not true.” It was Emma’s voice. She pretended to be calm.

“Cut it out.” The man chuckled. “We grew up together. I can tell whether you’re happy or not.”

The man leaned against the tree trunk casually. After thinking for a moment, he knew what was going on. “Is it because of Olivia?”

“Don’t talk nonsense.” Emma stopped him.

“You.” The man sighed. Actually, there was no need to ask such a thing. It was obvious. Just now, when he arrived at the Taylor family, Amy had been grabbing his hand. She liked him very much and even mentioned the engagement between the Taylor and Green families many times. She emphasized that in the Taylor family, Olivia was the one who had the engagement.

“Are you afraid that she’ll snatch me away?” The man suddenly approached her.

Emma lowered her eyes. “She has already snatched Grandpa, Aunt, and William away. Mom and Dad also feel sorry for her. I don’t care about these things. These belong to her in the first place, but you are different!” “Don’t worry,” the man comforted her. “I won’t be snatched away, and…” His tone was suddenly sharp. “What belongs to you is yours. She can’t take anything away!”

Emma understood Ethan. Seeing this, she asked nervously, “What are you going to do?”

Ethan chuckled. “To avenge you.”

“Don’t mess around.”

“Don’t worry. I won’t mess around. It’s just that someone doesn’t know her place and is too greedy. I’m just reminding her.”

The last sentence was like a ferocious beast that devoured people. His tone was cold.

At this moment, hurried footsteps could be heard. The person seemed to be jogging. The footsteps were very heavy and immediately alarmed Emma and Ethan who were behind the tree.

The two turned around and saw Susan running up to Olivia. “Olivia, why haven’t you gone in yet?”

Olivia!

Their pupils suddenly dilated. Olivia was actually here. Did she hear everything just now?

Emma’s face turned pale.

Sensing that something was wrong with her, Ethan held her cold and trembling hand and comforted her silently. He was here with her.

So what if Olivia heard it? It was the truth. Olivia was too greedy. Not only

did she snatch Liam and William’s attention, but she also got the Taylor

family’s shares. Now, she even wanted to snatch Emma’s engagement!

Ethan stood out and planned to confront Olivia. If Olivia heard them, it wouldn’t be a big deal. Olivia would at most scold them.

With that thought in mind, Ethan walked out.

He was wearing a casual suit and had long legs. As soon as he stood up, he blocked half the way.

“Did you hear everything?” He put his hands in his pockets and raised his chin slightly. There was a hint of arrogance in his expression.

He was ready to argue with Olivia and put all the blame on himself, making Emma innocent.

Olivia raised her eyes and looked at him indifferently. Then, she passed by him and walked toward the door of the villa.

That glance was indifferent and normal, without a trace of emotion, as if it was just a casual glance at the flowers and trees.

Ethan was dumbfounded!

No one had ever ignored him like this.

He couldn’t take it anymore. He quickened his pace and stood in front of Olivia.

“Why aren’t you responding?”

Olivia looked up. She was a little confused and looked a little innocent.

“How should I respond?” she asked.

Well, Ethan choked. Yes, how should she respond? He didn’t know how she should respond either.

Ethan had always been the center of attention. He was one of the best among his peers. This was the first time he had been rendered speechless.

However, he quickly reacted and changed the topic. “Ms. Taylor, did you hear everything just now?”

Olivia thought for a moment and said, “If you mean what you said to Emma behind the tree three minutes and twenty–one seconds ago, then I did hear it.”

How precise!

Susan had no idea what was going on, so she could only sigh to herself.

Upon hearing Olivia’s admission, Ethan sneered. “I didn’t expect you to have a hobby of eavesdropping.”

“Oh.” Olivia’s tone was indifferent.

Ethan was dumbfounded. This was the first time he had encountered someone admitting to eavesdropping. To be honest, it was not

eavesdropping at all. This was the path to the door. There were many people walking here and there.

Ethan deliberately said this to anger Olivia and listen to her retort. Only then would it be easier to attack her.

Unexpectedly, she admitted it just like that!

Why didn’t she play by the rules?
