Chapter 10: Carry Out Bad Intentions
A little stunned by the discovery, Gavin needed some time to readjust his mental state. Just hearing it made me feel creepy, try to ask yourself what it would be like to experience the feeling of being controlled by others? The more he thought about it, the more he felt sorry for his little brother, who had unfortunately fallen into the wrong hands. Gavin recalled Alden’s lack of color recently, a sudden feeling of guilt over his lack of responsibility as a brother, who had not been of much help to his brother.
This time, Gavin will definitely protect Alden, he closed the thought with great determination.
“Anything else?” Gavin continued to ask calmly.
“According to the size of the tumor, I’m guessing the drug has been injected into Alden’s body for a while. The time could be in years.”
That means Emma planned from the start to get close to Alden. And the best chance to do it was when Alden was hospitalized in an accident two years ago. As Gavin remembers, Emma was the one taking care of Alden, which certainly created the perfect conditions for poisoning.
Before the accusations, Gavin thought, a woman’s heart is indeed sinister. He shuddered at the discovery. Self-made Gavin remembers his soon-to-be wife and feels lucky to have met the right person.
“How is Alden’s condition now, still affected by the drug?” Gavin thought for a moment and then questioned.
“The drug needs to be given in doses, and spaced apart, to be effective. It’s like an addictive drug.” Doctor with many years of experience said.
“Without the medicine, what would Alden be like?”
“The symptoms need to be carefully observed after Alden wakes up to know for sure. In my opinion, most of them have the least impact on health, especially the part of the brain that is most severely affected.”© 2024 Nôv/el/Dram/a.Org.
“Can it be stopped?”
“We can intervene by removing the tumor. Also, I recommend a method that is highly effective, but needs Alden’s approval.”
The doctor said shyly, looking at him with information that was hard to accept.
“What is that?”
Gavin scrutinized it seriously. Need to know how it helps Alden.
“Full blood replacement to remove harmful toxins.”
In a firm voice, with absolute certainty, the doctor announced.
“Does it have any concerns or complications in the future?”
Gavin bit his lip and pondered before he opened his mouth to ask: “Are you sure it will work?”
“The probability of success is huge.” The doctor confidently said: “It is not a big problem, this method has been widely applied in the field of beauty. As for complications that need to be monitored to know, I believe it is not. nothing serious.”
The room was strangely silent after the doctor finished. Gavin was busy thinking, while the doctor nervously waited.
This is an important as well as an extremely difficult decision.
“Okay, do it,” Gavin said decisively.
“We need Alden’s consent and then we can proceed.” The doctor was speaking interrupted.
“No.” Gavin’s voice was firm: “Don’t let Alden know about this. Let’s do it before Alden wakes up.”
“But…”
“I’ll take full responsibility. You just do as I say.”
Gavin commanded majestically. The attitude of the person who has the power to suppress the opponent can’t look up.
“Yes. I understood.”
The doctor swallowed nervously, accepting Gavin’s orders.
Knowing that in the immediate future, it takes convincing evidence to kill Emma once and for all.
Gavin then left, demanding that the doctor absolutely keep this matter secret, not telling anyone, not even his parents, nor Alden.
Gavin went back to Alden’s room. Seeing his brother lying motionless on the bed was indeed bittersweet. He wants Alden to be happy, but there’s nothing he can do to prevent tragedy from happening to Alden. Honestly, if he’d tried to find out more about Emma, it probably wouldn’t have happened today. Gavin blamed himself at that time for being so gentle, only stopping at suspicion, without putting effort into finding ways to prove the doubt was correct. There’s a bit of regret now, but he won’t make the same mistake. Gavin made up his mind, determined to make Emma disappear from Alden’s life.
…
Emma was petrified when she learned the truth. The Aldens had planned in case something like today happened. The marriage contract made it clear, specifically, that if Alden died she would not receive a dime of inheritance. And yet, even the small details that are not really necessary are mentioned. Emma blamed herself for being negligent when Alden read the pledge to her. Emma at that time only worried about the bright future, just signed and agreed to everything. Now she realized, it wasn’t simply that his parents had changed their mind for Alden to marry her. Turns out, it was all about playing a humble game of cards and then finding an opportunity to turn her face over and unmask her.
“There can’t be such a thing, look again. There must be a way to break the contract. There must be loopholes.” Emma cried frantically.
“I’ve looked it over, honey, but I only tell you two things. Firstly, you will still have to pay your expenses in cash or by card. After our last meeting. I’ll find a new direction for my life, I’ll get married.”
Emma made a disgusted face. Now there is no anxiety when losing a competent bed partner like this lawyer.
“And second, take all valuables like jewelry, cash, as much as possible. Put it in a relative’s account. Because from what I read here, you won’t get anything out of this divorce.”
“Divorce?” Emma exclaimed in surprise: “Are you crazy? There will be no parting. I’ll get Alden out of the hospital and keep him away from that family.”
“Don’t try in vain.” The lawyer emphasized: “It is clearly written here that the marriage can end at any time, based on the judgment of Helen’s family.”
Emma froze after hearing that. I didn’t expect my karma to hit me so quickly.
After returning, she stayed up all night, hanging around the house thinking about plan B, plotting one scheme after another on how to continue to manipulate Alden. Just in case, she also collected some valuables and put them in her pocket.
Emma decided that she had to be near Alden, she remembered that perhaps the effect of the drug had worn off, and needed to continue injecting him. Emma opened the secret box, took the potion of unknown origin, and went to the hospital in the night.
With Lily’s help, everything will be easy. Emma is confident that she will succeed with her plan. After the injection, Alden will listen to her and oppose his family, so there is nothing to fear.
With Lily’s help, she tried to use a beauty trick to seduce the guard to follow, leaving her guard post. Emma easily managed to sneak into Alden’s room.
