Blind Date Turned Proposal

Chapter 1408 The Sender

"Did I push you into it? Wasn't it your own choice?"

"That's enough, Dad. I'm sure you're overthinking it. Jo and that guy are history, he's not the one she likes." Laura tried to mediate the situation. She smiled and asked, "Jo, am I right?"

"Of course not."

Claudia came out with a plate of fruit. "Laura, no need to persuade them. Look at them, they're becoming more like father and daughter."

Not in the sense of filial piety, but in the sense that they argued and bantered, yet neither took it to heart.

Upon hearing this, Josie felt there might be some truth to it. She felt a little embarrassed for a moment and turned her face away.

When Mark caught sight of it, his smile turning into a smirk. His smile abruptly disappeared when Zach entered the gate. "Stop right there."

A man who looked like he'd been up all night flippantly stood at the door. "What's up? Are you not letting me come home?"NôvelDrama.Org owns all © content.

"Do you even remember that this is your home? Where were you last night?"

"A bar?"

"Mr. Murray called me yesterday and said you stirred up some trouble. He had to sort it out in the middle of the night! What on earth happened?"

"Just a minor dispute," Zach replied impatiently. "Why did Mr. Murray tell you about it?"

"I'm your father. Who else will he inform if not me? With your antics every day, the reputation of the Olsen family will be ruined sooner or later. Zach, what do you want? If you don't like being here, then get out and go abroad!"

"You've already playing the role of someone else's father. Don't try to educate me..." Zach muttered under his breath.

"You!" Mark was furious. He picked up a coffee cup from the table and threw it. "Get lost! As far as you can!"

Zach gave Josie and Laura a strange look, then left without hesitation.

Mark lay back in his seat, upset. Grape climbed onto him and patted his chest. "Don't be mad, Grandpa!"

The car outside the Olsen Residence hadn't left yet. The person sitting in the driver's seat was the same one from the bar the other night, playing with his phone. "Zach, why did you come out? Didn't you say you were going to ask?"

Furious, Zach climbed into the car and sprawled out on the back seat. "Don't even mention it," he grumbled.

After a while, he suddenly sat up. "Was what you said earlier true?"

"Of course it's true."

He said that the driver rarely left any traces and was very cautious, but just yesterday, probably due to an emergency, he went back to Rivodia, grabbed something, and then

returned.

It was a world-renowned black diamond, with a high price tag. After he got it, he went straight to Laura's place outside. After that, he disappeared again.

The person spoke with a smug tone.

"There are countless diamonds in

this world, but this unique black diamond is easy to trace. An

eight-digit serial number isn't

something you can easily fake. I had

someone trace the payment

account. Guess what happened next."

"What happened?"

"The sender's last name is Bastille." The man took out a photo and handed it to him. "His name is Morgan Bastille."

After Zach saw the photo clearly, he felt a chill run down his spine. He had seen this man before.

Morgan was the man who was always with Josie. There were scandalous rumors about them in Olsen Group.

But why would he give a black diamond to Laura? Such a gift held significant meaning.

What was their relationship, and how much did Josie know about it?

"What's his background?"

"He established his own company. I wanted to investigate his family background, but I didn't have the authority. I suspect it's not that simple."

"Find out his whereabouts for me."

"You want to know his whereabouts, right? Just check on Josie. Those two have been practically inseparable lately."
