Bride To Be Not Me (Janice and Simon)

Chapter 180

On Monday morning, Janice went to the Secretary of State's office before work to meet Simon and change the company's legal representative. She waited nearly 40 minutes before he finally showed up, looking distinctly annoyed.

When he saw Janice, his scowl deepened. He didn't say a word, clearly unwilling to speak to her.

Trailing behind him, Janice said casually, "The loan repayment is due soon, Mr. Fitzgerald. You'd better pay on time."

Simon spun around, anger flashing in his eyes. "Are you a debt collector or what?"

"You could just stop owing me money. Then I wouldn't have to ask," Janice replied calmly.

Now that her life was finally at peace, Janice reflected on Simon's actions, which only deepened her resentment toward him. His continued attempts to use her, even after their breakup, strengthened her resolve not to let him off easy.

They approached the service counter and submitted all the required documents. The officer glanced at the company name and then looked at Simon.

Simon's expression turned dark as he gritted his teeth. "What are you staring at?"

The officer looked down and continued processing the paperwork. After a moment, the officer asked, "Let me confirm you're changing the legal representative for Refined Threads Co. to Ms. Janice Smith?"

Janice nodded. "Yes."

Just as the officer was about to stamp the documents, Simon suddenly shouted, "Wait!"

Both the officer and Janice looked at him. Simon felt a pang of despair. "Janice, do you really want to take everything from me?" he asked, his voice strained.

Janice's gaze remained steady. "Mr. Fitzgerald, watch your words. I'm not taking anything. I'm reclaiming what's mine."

Refined Threads Co. was built on her hard work, along with the seamstresses'. He had contributed only his name and image-nothing more.

The officer stamped the documents, finalizing the change of legal representative. From that moment on, Refined Threads Co. no longer belonged to Simon.

Simon felt a chill run through his body. He had always prided himself on being the owner of a publicly traded company. In his hometown, he used to stand above everyone else. Even Arthur, who had been in the same social circle as Amelia's parents, had treated him with respect.

But now, he had nothing.

Stepping out of the Secretary of State's office, Simon found it was snowing again.

"Janice!" he called out, stopping her. "Is money really all you care about?" He wondered why she was clinging to Refined Threads Co. so tightly.

Janice paused, then continued down

the stairs before turning back. Maybe it was because Refined Threads Co. was now hers or because Edward had eased the anger she had been carrying for so long toward the injustice she faced. Whatever the reason, her heart had never felt so calm.

Janice looked at him, her voice steady. "I loved you. I almost gave everything I had to help you. But you treated me like I didn't matter, choosing to leave me for Amelia, who contributed nothing.

"You hurt me and disregarded everything I did, making my hard work feel worthless. You never saw me as a person, and you didn't care about Jacob's life. I never asked you to treat him well, but you couldn't even show him basic respect."

She took a breath, her gaze unwavering. "Simon, I deserve Refined Threads Co. I owe you nothing."

As she finished speaking, she turned and walked away, leaving Simon standing there. The snowfall, which had been light before, now intensified, quickly blanketing the ground.

Simon punched the pillar outside the Secretary of State's office, his knuckles quickly bruising and bleeding, but he didn't seem to feel a thing.

He glared at Janice's departing Cullinan with a dark look on his face. He muttered, "Janice, you think e becoming the legal representative of Refined Threads Co. means you've won? Don't forget, my people are still in the management team

Janice had just started working in her office at the Product Division of Prosper

Stitch Group when a knock on the door interrupted her.

"Come in," Janice said.

A woman walked in and said, "Hi, Ms. Smith."

Janice looked up and saw someone in her 40s. She was dressed impeccably. She looked sharp and intelligent, and the air of authority she exuded was that of a confident woman in control.

"And you are?" Janice asked.

"I'm Marie Watson, the vice president of Prosper Stitch Group's overseas branch," she replied with a professional smile. "Mr. Moore has sent me to assist you with Refined Threads Co."

Janice was surprised that Edward had arranged for someone to help her. She quickly stood up. "When did you arrive?"

"I just got back," Marie replied.

"Thank you so much for your help," Janice said, inviting her to sit.

Marie sat down and smiled politely. "Ms. Smith, you're too kind. Just let me know

if there's anything I can do."

Janice got straight to the point. She briefly explained the current situation at Refined Threads Co., then took out some internal company documents and a file about Simon's management team.noveldrama
