Bride To Be Not Me (Janice and Simon)

Chapter 291

Marie's expression was unreadable. "I don't understand why you're here."

"That's not your concern," Simon responded.noveldrama

"You're right, it isn't. But my job is to make you leave. Are you leaving on your own, or should I have you dragged out?"

Edward's men were bold enough to threaten the Jovarek brothers directly. At that thought, Simon swallowed hard. "You seriously think you can control where I go? Greenfield City is huge. I can go anywhere I want."

"You know exactly why you're here." Marie's tone was razor-sharp.

She continued, "Do you think there's some magic cure for regret? You let her down and kicked her out of your life. Did you think throwing a measly hundred grand at her would make up for seven years of her hard work and dedication? That's pocket change-a slap in the face!

"You really think saying 'I regret it' gives you the right to keep bothering her? How shameless can you get? If it were you, could you forgive yourself?"

Simon's face turned ashen, but he had no retort.

If the roles were reversed, he'd probably want to kill the other person. Forgiveness wouldn't even be on the table.

"You don't understand what Janice and I went through together," he muttered.

Marie's words hit him where it hurt. "All you've ever brought to Ms. Smith's life was misery. Meanwhile, Mr. Moore was there for her when she was at her lowest and had no one else to turn to. Between the two of you, who do you think she'd choose?

"Even without all that, Mr. Moore is exceptional in every way. He cherishes her more than you ever did. Why would she go back to a second-rate ex she left behind?"

With that, she pulled out her phone and shoved the screen in his face. "If you keep harassing her, you can forget about ever setting foot in Greenfield City again."

"Are you threatening me?" Simon shouted. "Does Edward really think he can do whatever the hell he wants?"

Marie smirked. "When it comes to dealing with you? Yeah, he can."

With the threat hanging over him, he ground his teeth. What put Edward above everyone else? Just because his father was a big shot?

Simon's fingers tightened around the bouquet in his arms.

A few minutes later, Marie's people drove him away from the gated community entrance, flowers and all, like a stray dog.

He stood there, staring at the distant villas.

But what if Edward lost Robert's backing?

Over the past few days, Simon couldn't stop thinking about the moments he had shared with Janice. Only now did he realize just how much he needed her. Without her, nothing in his life felt right.

His pride and arrogance had convinced him that she depended on him. But the truth was that she had loved him deeply-and he had throw it all away for someone like Amelia. Regret gnawed at him and kept him awake at night.

Simon stepped back and made a silent vow-he would win Janice back. He'd make up for the pain he had caused and the heartache she had endured.

They were made for each other, and their seven years together proved it. He had been by her side as she rose to become a world-renowned seamstress.

And Edward? He was just reaping the rewards of someone else's effort.

"Simon! Simon!"

From the second floor of a nearby villa, Sarah leaned out the window and screamed while banging on the glass. But she could only watch Simon walk away. He was already out of earshot, and there was no

way he could hear her.

Behind her, Amelia's voice rang out. "What the hell are you screaming for? Didn't I

tell you to wash my clothes?"

"They're in the washing machine," Sarah shot back.

Amelia scowled. "I told you to hand-wash them. Are you deaf?"

"What's the difference? You-"

Sarah's words cut off with a scream as a vase was hurled over and slammed directly onto her foot.

Amelia had no patience for Sarah's

spoiled attitude. "You still don't get who's in charge here, huh? When le was sick, you and your vile mother had noproblem making me hand-wash your clothes. But now that the tables have turned, you can't take it?"
