You wish
Lynn’s POV
I slept very well.
That was one of the best nights I’d ever had. Sleeping next to someone does make a really big difference as studies have shown. When I was with Alec, sleep came softly, stealing me before I started worrying about everything I had ever done wrong in my life. I didn’t have to lie on bed for hours waiting for it to overcome me. It came, took over and the night moved smoothly.
I woke up to some noise and immediately opened my eyes only to receive a very pleasant surprise.
Two girls and one boy standing in front of the bed. I covered my head when I realized I was in Alec’s room. What the hell. When no one said anything, I let my face out.
There he stood, a smirk plastered on his face with two girls smiling uncontrollably. They got me this time.
“Morning baby,” Alec greeted, happily. “How was your night?”
“Not so bad,” I said, hiding a smile.
“Get out of bed!” Kari hollered, getting the blanket off me.All text © NôvelD(r)a'ma.Org.
“What for? It’s too early.” I wondered why they had come so early and smartly dressed, too. “Go away.”
“I said get out,” Kari glared at me.
“Oh please,” I tried to resist before I was pulled out and dragged out by Alec.
“I know you’d really love to stay in my bed like forever but nothing lasts forever.”
“Okay, what’s it all about?” I asked when we got to the living room. Kari and Jen sat on the couch.
“Just go and take a shower.” Jen smiled. “Call us when you’re done”
“Am I going to a surprise wedding or what?” I joked. “I’d love that but I haven’t said yes to the perfect dress.”
“You wish,” Alec laughed. “I don’t think there’s any man in his right senses that would want to marry a lazy girl like you.”
“You have no idea.”
“Make it snappy girl or we’ll be late.”
“You’re all so mysterious,” I said and went to get ready. I brushed and took a very short shower such that in less than ten minutes, I was done. I think I wasn’t supposed to be a girl.
“Done,” I yelled waiting for them to come and do everything for me like I was a cute little princess.
“First put on your underwear,” Jen ordered throwing a white bra to me and a lacy white knicker to match.
“You’re wearing a white dress,” She said handing me a half-slip. I hated wearing purely white clothes because they made me so noticeable and self-conscious. Darker colors were my best because they couldn’t attract so much attention. I was the type of girl that wanted to be in the crowd and not stand out.
“No, how come you’re not wearing white?”
“You’re the bride.”
“Stop all this mystery and tell me what’s going on,” I yelled at my two best friends but they didn’t seem offended.
“Just get ready and we’ll tell you,” Jen said fishing out the white dress my mom bought me. I’d worn it only once the last year. She walked to the ironing board with it. “It’s a surprise.”
“I’m not wearing that, not in a million years.”
“You are.”
“I hate you both,” I muttered applying my usual facial cream and massaging my face.
“The feeling is mutual,” Kari commented. “I gotta find the shoes.”
“Not heels,” I warned, sighting the fact that they wear both wearing heels.
I applied some lotion on my whole body and put on the slip. I applied some mascara and lip gloss.
“We have some lipstick, baby.” Jen looked up from her ironing.
This ranked as the most stressful morning I’d ever had in my life.
After everything, we got out of the room with me dressed just as they wanted and in heels, too. I hoped we weren’t walking for a long distance because the previous night’s walk in heels had almost killed me.
“You look dashing,” Alec commented when he saw me. He was lying on the couch.
“Thanks,” I said with a wave of disappointment. I thought we were going with Alec. I didn’t want to be away from him.
“We are going for prayers, it’s a Sunday. Remember?”
What the hell? Jeez! I’d totally forgotten it was a Sunday. How could I not think of it? I’m so stupid. I hadn’t gone for prayers for some long time.
“We had to take you,” Kari smiled, noticing my surprise. “You haven’t been to Church since the semester began. ”
“Oh my God, I didn’t even think about it” I laughed at myself for being such an idiot.
“You were so busy enjoying Alec to even remember that it’s the day of prayer,” Jen mocked.
“Oh stop it,” I pushed her shoulder and she almost lost her footing.
“Seriously, tell us what happened.” Kari said. “We freaking found you on his bed! God only knows what happened last night between the two of you.”
“Tell me, how good was it?” Jen pried.
“How long-”
“Hey, stop the dirty talk. Nothing happened, I swear.”
“I don’t believe you,” Jen stopped and faced me.
“Why are you guys so interested in knowing?”
“Just tell us what you did with the hottie,” Jen said. “We’re your best friends.”
“All we did was kiss and cuddle,” I lied. We cuddled but never kissed. I knew they’d never believe that. “That’s all.”
“Expect us to believe that?”
“You had the whole night to do more,” Jen added.
“Next time, maybe.” I said. “Let’s talk about something else.
“I thought you hated him. Is my girl now in love?” Kari asked searching my face.
“Yaas! ” Jen was ecstatic.
“Shut up and just drive,” I said, when we got into Ron’s car. “I’m not in love or anything.”
“I would like to see you settled and-” Thankfully my mom called cutting off whatever nonsense Jen wanted to say.
“I’m in deep trouble” I said before answering the call. I had not called my mom in a very long time.
