Another person laughed and chimed in, "You're spot on. Look at the box she's holding. It looks cheap." Sharon sneered. "She's probably giving Charles a box of dry leaves. How embarrassing!"

The venue was quiet. Grace overheard Sharon and her friends' nasty comments.

Grace paid them no heed. She smiled and handed the box to the emcee. She said, "Mr. West, I heard you like visiting art exhibitions when you're free. This is a painting by the contemporary watercolor painting master, Madam Lily. I hope you will like it."

As soon as she finished speaking, Sharon sneered in disdain. "A master in watercolor painting? Everyone can draw these days. What a joke! It's not an antique. How much can it be worth?"

When Charles heard Grace's words, his turbid eyes lit up instantly. "What did you say? This is... Madam Lily's painting?"

Grace nodded slightly in confirmation and said, "Yes, Mr. West. I wonder if Madam Lily's painting is to your liking?"

Charles was so excited that he wanted to get up from his chair. He stretched out his hand and pointed at the painting. His finger was trembling. He ordered, "Open it!"

The emcee opened the box and carefully took out the painting from inside. He slowly unfolded it.

Charles narrowed his eyes as if he were looking at a rare treasure. He slowly caressed the painting. He looked at the painting seriously.

Sharon frowned and muttered softly, "Who is Lily? Are her paintings worth a lot?" She pursed her lips and said at the top of her voice, "I wonder if it's a fake!"

As soon as she finished speaking, she heard Charles exclaim, "It's her! It's Lily! This is her painting!"

Charles looked at Grace and asked excitedly, "Miss, why do you have her painting? She has stopped painting for decades. You can't buy her paintings even if you have, money. Do you know where she is?"

Grace explained, "Madam Lily is in Merion. I met her four years ago. She was my neighbor."

Charles wiped his eyes and cried tears of joy. "That's good to hear. How is she now? Is she doing well?" Grace vaguely guessed that Madam Lily and Charles must have some kind of relationship.

They were about the same age and had most likely been in love with each other before. Grace replied, "Mr. West, Madam Lily is doing quite well. She is in good health."

Charles nodded. "Wonderful. Miss like your gift very much. It's the best gift I've received today. Thank you for coming to my birthday party. Thank you!"

Sharon looked at Grace in shock. Sharon wondered what painting Grace gave Charles. It actually made Charles so happy!

Charles valued relationships. If Grace won his favor, she would definitely be able to obtain many benefits. Sharon was enraged at the thought of this.
