Flora’s Guide to a Second Chance at Love and Life

Chapter 1655

Yvenne wasn't exactly a powerhouse. She clicked on Jackson's chat and asked for the guest list from that day's engagement party. Naturally, Jackson didn't question her motives, and Fiona didn't bother explaining. She couldn't lean on Jackson to sort out everything for her. Plus, she wasn't sure if Yvenne's situation was tied to a high-status family in the Capital or if she had already joined one of those elite circles.

Time flew by, and soon the preliminary exams were looming. These exams were a big deal because they'd directly impact the college entrance exams next semester, so everyone was giving it their all. Except for Yvenne, who was consistently trailing at the bottom of Class Three. If it weren't for her reputation as a designer, she might have been shown the door a long time ago.

Sandy had always backed her up, but it was a bit of a letdown when Yvenne only bagged third place in the second design competition. She kept blaming her hand injury for her performance in class, which frustrated Sandy to no end when it came to Fiona. Fiona couldn't wrap her head around why the school was bending over backward to support a student like Yvenne. Without Fiona's help, how could Yvenne have even snagged third place? Her design drafts were undeniably impressive.

Fiona took a quick peek at her exam paper and filled in a few answers. Normally, she'd skip questions out of sheer laziness, but this exam was crucial for the upcoming college entrance exams, so she had to pay a bit more attention.

Once the exam was over, Fiona was caught off guard by a message from Allen. She hadn't been in touch with him for ages, and since the dust had settled publicly, he had been fully immersed in Woods Corporation, where his career was really taking off.

Allen: Ms. Fiona, could you swing by Memorial Hospital?

Fiona simply replied, "Sure," grabbed her bag, and hopped into a cab heading to the hospital.

At the hospital, Allen was waiting in his office with a young girl. Fiona checked her out, curiosity piqued. She couldn't resist teasing, "You've got quite the interesting taste, don't you? She's about my age."

Fiona was joking, but Allen shook his head, "No, she's my sister. Besides you, I couldn't think of anyone better to help her."

Fiona quickly noticed that the girl

was almost two months pregnant. In today's world, that wasn't

necessarily scandalous, but because of Allen's connections, it was a pretty big deal. Any slip-up could lead to rumors and drama, which would be a real hassle.

"You should head out, to avoid any complications. She'll stay here at the hospital, and I'll make sure she's looked after."noveldrama

With Fiona's reassurance, Allen felt at ease and left after a few quick words.

Fiona checked the girl's pulse and found it shaky, with her health in a fragile state.

Just standing for a bit made her legs wobbly and her vision blur.

"Go lie down over there," Fiona directed, pointing to the medical equipment nearby.

After a scan, she arranged for the

girl to stay in a side room in the office. The fewer people who knew about this, the better. Fiona still needed to gear up for the procedure. The girl's frail health made just surviving a challenge, and surgery at this point would be extremely risky for her well-being. If things didn't go smoothly, it could easily lead to a crisis. Plus, Fiona still had no clue how the girl ended up pregnant.
