Chapter 1658
The events unfolded like a series of volcanic eruptions, and everyone was saying he was in the midst of a major scandal. A lot of fans turned against him, and some even camped out at the Woods Entertainment building demanding answers. Contracts for scripts and endorsements that had been locked down were suddenly being pulled. Yet, Allen stayed silent, offering no explanation whatsoever.
Jackson's approach was for Allen to handle things on his own. With Jackson having laid down the law, no one at the company dared to step up, and it was starting to look like Jackson was ready to cut Allen loose.
"So, don't stress about it," Nash said, trying to reassure. "Allen isn't that tight with us. If I bring you over, Jackson will lose it. He's definitely not keen on you getting mixed up in the entertainment scene."
Fiona just gave a knowing smile and nodded, not adding much more to the conversation.
She still planned to visit the media company, but meeting Allen wasn't on her agenda.
After turning off her phone, she mentioned, "I heard they've signed a new actress recently? A newbie."
Nash nodded, recalling Kimberly mentioning that this actress had some features that reminded them of his grandmother-Jackson and Kimberly's mom.
"I'd like to meet her. If she's anything like my brother, she must be incredible too."
After some back-and-forth, Nash agreed, and they decided to head to the media company during their free time.
On the way, Fiona closed her eyes, running through various scenarios in her mind -scenarios that, if true, could spell trouble.
Meanwhile, Nash kept sneaking glances at Fiona in the rearview mirror, occasionally letting out a goofy grin.
"What are you up to?" Fiona suddenly asked, her eyes snapping open.
Caught off guard, Nash quickly pointed to a video on his phone, turning away while still sneaking peeks at Fiona.
The drive was smooth, and in just over half an hour, they reached the company, Since Jackson started dabbling in the entertainment
business, Nash had become netnoveldrama
regular. The celebrities who seemed untouchable on TV were surprisingly accessible here.
"Young Mr. Woods, what brings you around today?" The security guard at the entrance recognized him instantly, smoothly guiding him to the company lounge. "Playing Kooky today? I've let the person you're looking for know. She's in the middle of shooting an ad and should be free in about half an hour."
"No need, just take us to her," Fiona said as she stood to leave.
The security guard seemed to focus more on Nash, barely acknowledging Fiona.
"Didn't you hear what she said?” Nash said, frowning.
They made their way to the ad shoot, where Fiona got a look at the actress Nash
had spoken about, the one supposedly bearing a resemblance.
Fiona remembered seeing this woman on some viral video app. She was a blogger with a huge following and had done a few bit parts here and there. Is this what they call an actress now?
The bar for entering the entertainment world seemed pretty low.
"I don't see any resemblance," Fiona said, clicking her tongue.
Nash clapped his hands and leaned on Fiona's shoulder. "Right? I don't see it either: But Jackson and my mom are convinced. Where's the resemblance? It's got to be plastic surgery! Let me tell you, Fiona, if it hadn't been for Jackson swinging by the office that day, she wouldn't
have even made it past the front door. Now she knows she looks like my grandma and is acting all different, always clinging to Jackson. He hasn't even come to pick me up from school lately, and it's driving me up the wall."
What do you think?
