Chapter 823 Did You Lied To Me?
On the second-floor terrace of the Reynolds villa, Christopher stood there smoking. He had been smoking heavily for the past two years, and in just a short time, several cigarette butts were scattered on the ground.
Theodore walked over and saw him light another cigarette. He frowned, "You've been smoking a lot lately. Is something bothering you?"
"No, nothing." Christopher handed him the pack, but Theodore shook his head, leaning on the railing and looking at the distant, gloomy horizon.
Christopher exhaled a puff of smoke and turned to look at him. Theodore's profile looked particularly desolate in the night.
He pressed his lips together, knowing he shouldn't ask but still did, "Theodore, is it true that Phoebe..."
He didn't finish the sentence, but Theodore knew what he meant.
Theodore let out a bitter laugh, "It's true. Do you think I'm a joke? I've been entangled with her for over four years, and in the end, I lost to a guy she hooked up with for one night."
"Theodore," Christopher looked at him with concern, "Don't say that about yourself. Maybe Phoebe lied to you. The triplets might be your children."
"No," Theodore replied firmly, "I had it investigated. Both domestic and international hospitals have records. They're not mine."
He felt quite miserable.
If Phoebe had dared to find a male escort during their marriage, he would have destroyed her. But they were already divorced at the time, and she was free to do whatever she wanted.
He had always thought that Phoebe divorcing him was the biggest punishment.
Now he realized that Phoebe was even more ruthless. She not only found a male escort but also had children with him. Just thinking about it made him feel extremely uncomfortable.
Seeing the pain in Theodore's eyes, Christopher felt sad as well. "Theodore, why are women so heartless?"
Theodore caught the hint in his words and couldn't help but glance at him, "Is something going on with you?"
"What could be going on with me?" Christopher denied, "I just think you and Phoebe were great together, but now..."
Theodore gazed silently at the night sky.
"Theodore, what are you planning to do now? If that's true, the family definitely won't agree to you remarrying her." Christopher worried for him.
Theodore gripped the railing tightly, "Their opinions don't matter. What happens between me and her is up to me."
Christopher understood that Theodore wasn't planning to give up. He opened his mouth but said nothing more. He didn't know about others, but he was well aware of Theodore's feelings for Phoebe.
For three years, there had been women better than Phoebe around Theodore, but his heart was never with them.
He was waiting, betting everything on her coming back to him.
But thinking about Phoebe's triplets, he felt uneasy for Theodore. If Theodore ever reconciled with Phoebe, seeing the triplets would always be a thorn in his heart.
Grace leaned against the terrace door, listening to their conversation. She turned and went upstairs.
It seemed Phoebe really had triplets, but when she last saw her, Phoebe didn't look like a mother of three.
Could Theodore be mistaken?
She went back to her room, thought for a moment, and decided to call Phoebe. Phoebe had just finished telling a story to Hubert, Boris, and Noomi, putting them to sleep.

She picked up her phone and answered in a low voice, "Hello, this is Phoebe." "Phoebe," Grace called her.
Phoebe recognized her voice. She glanced at the sleeping Hubert, Boris, and Noomi, and quietly walked out of the room to take the call in the hallway.
"What's wrong? Why are you calling so late? Did something happen?" Phoebe's voice was gentle, full of concern.
Grace pressed her lips together, "Tonight, during dinner, Madison mentioned that..." "What did she say?"
"She said you had triplets, and they're not Theodore's. Is that true? Did you lie to Theodore?" Grace's voice grew more distressed.
She still remembered the first time she met Phoebe and Theodore. They had gone out
to eat together, and the two of them were so in sync, like a match made in heaven. How did it come to this?
Phoebe frowned. It seemed the Reynolds family knew about the triplets. She sighed, "She's right. The triplets aren't Theodore's, Grace. I'm sorry."
"Why?" Grace shouted angrily, "You clearly love Theodore. I can see it. Why did you do this? Why did you have them? You could have reconciled."
Phoebe's voice turned serious, "Grace, don't talk like that. It makes me angry."
Grace bit her lip, feeling devastated. She knew that if she continued, she would end up condemning Phoebe. She abruptly hung up the phone.
She knew she was the least qualified to condemn Phoebe, but she was just heartbroken.

Phoebe was so wonderful and should have been her sister-in-law, but she had severed the connection to Theodore, making it impossible for them to be together again. Why did it have to be this way?noveldrama
Phoebe looked at the screen, thinking about Grace's questions, and felt inexplicably irritated.
She didn't regret having the triplets. She was just worried that the Reynolds family knowing about them would bring endless trouble.
How did Madison find out about the triplets?
Phoebe's intuition was usually accurate. The next day, when she went to the office, Lori informed her after a meeting that Taylor was waiting for her in the reception area.
She handed her things to Lori and went to the reception room.
The last time Taylor came, she had tricked her into going to the hospital to see Theodore. This time, she was wearing an off-white trench coat, her hair was tied up, and she was wearing a set of jewelry that Phoebe had given her before.
Phoebe walked in, and Taylor turned to look at her. Her gaze was no longer as gentle as before but carried a hint of uncomfortable scrutiny, looking her up and down.
Phoebe sat down across from her, "Taylor."
Taylor snorted, "Phoebe, you've been married into our family for over four years. I don't think I've treated you badly. I don't deserve to be called 'Mom' by you. I remember you told me you could never have children. So how come I heard you had triplets that aren't from our Reynolds family?"
Phoebe lowered her eyes, thinking that what was meant to come would come. She replied calmly, "Yes, after I divorced Mr. Reynolds, I had them with someone else."
Taylor's face was full of mockery, "You moved on pretty quickly. You found a boyfriend right after the divorce. So, were you lying to me when you said you couldn't have children?"
What do you think?
