Chapter 12 Got on his love pirate ship
Thinking that I was just shy since I remained silent, Mrs. Penn made an excuse and left.
In the vast office, only Roan and I remained. No one spoke, and the air became quiet.
Roan seemed to act as if nothing had happened, examining the project plan I brought, while I stood in the office still digesting the events just now.
So, Ms. Penn is Roan’s mother, and he doesn’t have a girlfriend?
Then how did Ms. Penn get the impression that I was Roan’s girlfriend?
I glanced up to sneak a look at Roan. He, as if sensing my gaze, turned his eyes toward me.
Seemingly aware of what I wanted to ask, he put the document down, straightened up, and clasped his hands.
“I haven’t had anyone of the opposite sex around me, and my mom thought I might be gay. Last time when you came to see me, she misunderstood and thought you were my girlfriend. I just went along with it.”
“So, are you…” I teased, looking Roan up and down.
“Am I or not gay, don’t you know?” Roan squeezed this response through his teeth.
“Last time, I had too much to drink; I don’t remember…”
I instinctively continued the conversation, then suddenly realized something was off. I turned to Roan, and he was looking at me with a smiling expression.© 2024 Nôv/el/Dram/a.Org.
“Shall we redo it?” he suggested.
“Redo it?”
With a smiling expression in his eyes, complementing his handsome face, my face turned beet red.
He stood up, his tall shadow looming over me, taking slow steps toward me.
“W-wait… not here…”
I mumbled with my head lowered, my voice barely audible.
However, he suddenly thrust the document into my hands, his expression unchanged.
“This project plan is not up to par. Go back and redo it.”
“Huh?”
Was he talking about redoing just for this?
I stood there, dumbfounded, not moving. Roan, on the other hand, suddenly leaned down, bringing his face close to my ear.
“What did you think it was for?”
His deep voice pierced my eardrums, and my legs went weak, almost losing my balance.
Damn, the charm of a man is truly deceptive.
