Chapter 3109
While Ivy was cooking lunch, she received a video call from her brother, Hayden.
Unable to decline her brother's call, Ivy turned off the stove and went to the balcony to take the video call. Holding her phone, she adjusted the lighting and smiled sweetly at the camera. "Hey, how's the wedding preparation going with Shelly?"
Hayden asked with a frown, "Where are you?"
"At Lucas' place," Ivy replied.
"Why are you at his place? Is he there? Let me see him," Hayden said.
"He's not here! He went to work," Ivy replied.
"If he's not there, then what are you doing at his place?" Hayden asked worriedly.
"I... I wanted to cook, so I came to his place to use his kitchen," Ivy said.
"Do you even know how to cook?" he asked.
"Uh-huh, it doesn't taste that good though." Ivy chuckled.
"You're cooking for him, aren't you?" Hayden guessed.
"Well, I have some free time, and I was bored, so I thought I'd practice my cooking skills. When I get back home, I'll cook for you guys," Ivy replied.
"Do you realize that men won't appreciate you if you do everything for them?" Hayden said.
"Layla already told me that and so did Archer. I know what I'm doing... Hayden, don't worry about me. I'll be back home soon, and I probably won't come here again," Ivy said. Feeling relieved, Hayden said, "Just be safe while cooking. If it gets too hard, you can order takeout. Why bother doing it yourself and going through all that trouble?"
"I got it, Hayden." Ivy nodded.
"Are you coming back tomorrow or the day after?" Hayden inquired.
"The day after tomorrow. Tomorrow, I'll probably go shopping to buy gifts for you guys."
"Alright. Take Archer with you when you go shopping," he insisted.
"Okay."
After ending the video call, Ivy's smile disappeared. She knew Hayden had called her to get her to come home. Now that she had Cited to coming home she could not back out of it
Returning to the kitchen after
preparing lunch, Ivy made her way to Lucas's bedroom. This was her last time here, and she wanted to tidy his room before leaving.
Lucas' bedroom was messy, but there was no unpleasant odor.Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org exclusive © material.
Ivy walked to the wardrobe, intending to find a clean four-piece set of bedding. However, while searching through it, she noticed a small black box.
It was hidden deep inside the wardrobe as if Lucas had deliberately hidden it.
Driven by curiosity, Ivy took the box out and opened it. She gasped.
There was a bracelet in the box, and it belonged to Ivy's grandmother.
Seeing the bracelet reminded Ivy of her former life.
She remembered the time she had tried to repay her debt. The loan shark had taken her grandmother's bracelet.
When she had tried to repay her debt, he had told her that her debt had been repaid by one of Mr. Woods' sons.
She had assumed that it had been
Sam who had paid off her debt and
had thanked him. Sam had allowed her to think that by accepting her thanks and telling her that hehad indeed repaid her debt.
"So, why is Grandma's bracelet in Lucas' possession?" Ivy thought as she placed the bracelet back into the box and returned it back where she found it.
She hurried out of the room, grabbed her bag, and rushed out of the apartment, determined to get Sam to tell her the truth.
At noon, Caspian knocked on the door to Lucas' office. "Lucas, where are we going for lunch?"
Lucas recalled that Ivy made lunch for him and said, "You go ahead."
Caspian chuckled. "Did Ivy cook for you? Get her to make more so that I can have a taste, too!"
