His Innocent Sera

Running Away

He picked up her dad and drove a fist into his stomach, making him double over. Sera and Mary screamed, begging him to stop, but Nate had just started. If she thought she had seen his worst, she couldn't have been more wrong. She underestimated him, took his threat as empty words- what a grave mistake to

make.

He swung his fist to land another deadly blow when Sera crumbled at his feet.

"Please, stop. He'll die, please," she clutched his leg, weeping inconsolably. His fist paused mid-air before he glanced down at her. She was trembling like a leaf, scared to her core. Bending, he wrapped her locks around his tightly clenched fist and hauled her to her feet. She gritted her teeth, enduring the pain searing her scalp.

"So protective of your family, huh," Nate commented, his voice carrying a dark, mocking edge. "But your pleadings and begging are not going to save them now.." his voice climbed a notch as he added, "Unless, of course, your 'family' decides to give me what I want. Then, maybe, I'll let them live.."

Mary, who was holding bleeding Franklin in her arms, looked up at Nate with hope.noveldrama

"What do you want?" she asked.

"I want Sera," Nate said. Mary's gaze drifted to Sera, who looked in pain. She looked back at Nate.

"You can have her. Just spare us," Mary answered indifferently, causing Sera's heart to break.

"Mom," she whispered, hurt flickering through her features. She was really going to hand her over to him? She knew they didn't have a choice, but still she didn't even refuse once. Nate smirked.

"I am not going to lose my family because of you. We've put up with you long enough," Mary replied, looking away from her. Nate didn't bother to interrupt them.

"Am I not your family?" Sera asked, disbelief soaking her voice. Mary's sharp gaze met hers.

"No, you're not. You are forced on us by Antonio. You are his illegitimate child," Mary revealed, her words cutting deep into her like a jagged knife.

"What are you saying, mom? Don't lie. I know you're lying," Sera argued, her voice catching. Nate gazed at her; she resembled those tragic statues that exude boundless sorrow but still look ethereal. He was tempted to kiss her.

"I am speaking the truth," Mary said before her features softened into pleading. "We kept you with us since birth. It's time you pay us back. Just go with him, don't let us die." Her words were direct and apathetic. But Sera was bleeding inside. She wasn't able to process the revelation. The people she'd loved, trusted, and called her family were never hers. Everything faded; all she could feel was an aching hollow in her chest. Her legs gave away. She would have collapsed if not for Nate's arm holding her firmly against his chest.

She always felt unwanted, and now she knew why

"Please, mom," she whispered, wanting her to call it all a lie. Perhaps, Nate told her to say it. But...deep down she knew...

Mary looked away, silent and unmoved.

"Sshhhh. You heard her, princess. She doesn't want you. Nobody does. Only I do," he murmured in her ear.

"You can take her away," Mary told Nate, ignoring her pleas.

Nate knew he didn't have much time left. The news of his escape must have already reached his dad's ears. His men will be here any moment now.

"It's time to leave, baby," he told her. His voice was too gentle for someone who had just ripped her life apart.

The revelation had devastated her. Her eyes were vacant, her body trembling, her spirit cracked. She had no one to turn to except for him. He was her only anchor now, her only home. The thought sent a wave of thrill zapping through him.

As she didn't move on her own, he began to lead her away from the people who had just abandoned her. Sera, too shattered, didn't fight or resist him. She waited for at least her dad to stop Nate, only to meet painful disappointment.

Everything just felt too much. Her body grew unbearably heavy, her head began to spin. It felt as if barbed wires had been twisted around her heart, digging in with every breath she took. They had barely taken a step out when her body went limp. Nate caught her in time and frowned, realising she had fainted.

She woke up to an unfamiliar surrounding Cream colored walls, maroon drapes, dated furniture-her confused eyes roved over the details trying to make sense of where she was. The queen-sized bed creaked beneath her as she moved to sit up. Her movement caused a stirring in the shadow. Her gaze snapped to the unlit corner of the room, unease contorted her stomach. A second later, the shadow stepped into the light. It was Nate. His dark, unreadable eyes locked onto her as he stalked closer.

Sera scrambled backward, her eyes brimming with fear as she demanded,

"What's this place? Where have you brought me?"

"Somewhere no one can reach us," he answered, a dark, possessive edge to his voice. Sera swallowed dry.

"Take me back home. I want to go back home," she retorted, her gaze flickering to the closed door.

Nate loomed over her, his gaze betraying nothing as he reminded her, "Have you already forgotten your foster parents want nothing to do with you? They tossed you aside like you were nothing." He purposefully hit her raw nerve, breaking her so that he could rebuild her again.

His cruel words drew tears to her eyes. How could she forget? Her own family had cast her aside like she was nothing, like a burden too heavy to love. That was the truth. She was a bastard child. Unwanted. Discarded.

Nate leaned in and cupped her cheek, his thumb gently wiping away her tear. "No one cares about you," he whispered, voice low and enticing. "But I do. I'm the only one who'll ever truly want you."

With a gentle push, Nate guided her down onto the mattress and continued, "You still wanna go back to them? They won't think twice before abandoning you again. But not me. I'm the only one who truly sees you, all of you. I am the only one who can keep you safe. Don't you understand? I'm the only one who wants you." His lips hovered over hers with deliberate intent.

"I am all you need. All you'll ever need. Just me," he whispered against her mouth before closing the gap. His lips met hers like a violent wave crashing over shore. His kiss was laced with a maddening urge to possess her. His hand gripped the back of her head, not allowing the smallest of movements as his mouth devoured her, determined to absorb every inch of her. His tongue glided its way into her mouth, exploring as if he had every right to do so.

Wanting her closer, he pressed against her and kissed her with more fervor. She

belonged to him, whether she wanted to or not.

His tongue licked its way up the

delicate curve of her throat. His

breath, labored with desire, carried a

faint metallic scent of blood that

made her stomach churn. Her pulse raced beneath his mouth as be pressed a hot, ardent kiss against it before opening his mouth and biting down on it. Sera closed her eyes and clenched her fists at her sides; her own breathing turned erratic. He had her pinned against the mattress with his body, his mouth trailing soft, urgent kisses all over her. The soft glow of the bulb bathed them under its etheral light as he violated her.

Sera let out a soft whimper as he nibbled on her jaw. His kisses were soaked with

his intent to explore more, to acquaint himself with every part of her.

To trick his family wasn't an easy feat, but he did it. He risked it all for her. He disappointed his mom and defied his dad just to keep her close. Just like his dad, he had secret allies who had helped him flee and hide in here. He had it all planned. They were going to keep it low until he married her. After marrying her, they would go back. No one would be able to separate them again.

A knock on the door interrupted them. Reluctantly, he got off her, letting Sera breathe and walk towards the door.

It was Rio. The friend who had helped him escape. Rio gave him food and left.
