Chapter 7: Seven
Chapter 7: Seven
Can you hear the sound of someone choking to death? yeah, that's me. Never in a million years have I
ever thought of choking on absolutely nothing.
"Oh, my dear. are you alright?" Adeline rubbed my arm in means to calm me down. ha, like that's
gonna work
All I could do was nod, "Adeline, stop scaring the poor child" Rober said amused with my reaction.
"All I said was that I want a great-grandchild, it's been more than 4 years, Rober," she said it might not
be her intention but that kind of hurt, I cannot give them that happiness. I'm not Jane the virgin for
christ's sake. I can't give a great-grandchild without doing IT. yes, you read it right, me twenty-four
years old married women not to mention married to one of the hottest guys in New York, is still a Virgin.
"Mamma, the event organizer is waving at you to go over," Dimitri said and pulled away from me and I
could finally breathe.
I excused myself and went away in search of the bar, I need some serious liquid courage to get through
this night.
"Hello, What can I get you to miss?" the young bartender asked politely smiling, I took a seat on one of
the bar stools
"Marchesi di Barolo Arneis 2013, please, "I ordered
"Coming right up" he smiled again and I waited for my drink, "Here you go, enjoy" I twirled around in my
stool and watched everyone. some were old faces, some were new but many were reporters.
unintentionally I was seeking someone out and you already know who. I found him talking to a group of
people who screamed money with a capital M but what irritated me the most was the way one of the
women was holding his arm and occasionally rubbing it, I felt a little twitch in my eye but suddenly my
view was blocked.
"That's my seat," said a male voice, I raised my head to look at the vision blocker and raised an
eyebrow in annoyance.
"Don't see your name on it?" I said sipping my wine he chuckled and sat on another stool beside me.
"Boy, the event hasn't even started yet and you are already in a bad mood" I didn't even glance at him.
not worth it but he is kind of cute with blonde hair, blue eyes, tanned skin, and a red Armani suit. "I'm
usually the one sitting gloomily in this corner, Name's Peter by the way," he said and I nodded at him,
not in the mood to engage in a conversation "you don't want to be here, don't you" he chuckled again at
my ignorance.
"Nope!" I replied popping up the p and finished my glass, "Refill," I said and passed my glass and took
another, I glanced back at Dimitri again and almost broke the glass in my hand with the force I held it.
Dimitri was now dancing with the woman who was seducing him just moments ago, people have no
shame, I mean he is a married man leave him alone.
"Ah," Peter exclaimed like something finally clicked and chuckled "You have hots for the ladies man, Content is © 2024 NôvelDrama.Org.
now I get it," he said sipping his drink
"It's not that," I said chugged down my drink, and asked for another
"of course, of course" he laughed "You just "like him, " " he raised both of his hands to show the
double-quotes.
"He is my husband," I said and he chocked on his drink his face turned red with the sudden news
"What!?" he asked bewildered "You are Dimitri's wife? you are Erika Price?" he asked and I looked at
him confused, "Dimitri and I, we are sorts of friends and small business partners " he explained and I
nodded glancing back at Dimitri again but only to find him a lot closer to that woman than before. Peter
watched my expression and said "You should go there and prove him yours" I stood up from my seat
and grabbed the bottle of my wine
"It's not worth it" that I walked off. I took a huge gulp from the bottle and walked outside to the
backyard, which did not go unnoticed by Dimitri. he watched my every move, I stared at him and we
were caught in a staring match. I made sure to show mine displease while doing so it doesn't matter
anyway it all ends today.
I walked across the backyard towards the pool and sat down, threw off my high heels, and submerged
my feet in the icy cold water, drinking straight from the bottle. "I'm seriously so fucked up" I sighed and
laid down on the floor with my legs still in the water, time passed by and the bottle dried up, not a single
drop was left. I felt the buzz of alcohol in my system and felt it taking its toll on me, my vision was blurry
and I felt so light. the sound of footsteps approaching my way alerted me and I looked to my left, big
black boots stood a couple of feet away from me.
It's a man, he who-ever-he-is sighed in irritation and crouched down, he held my arm to pull me up but I
slapped it way "Hey, back off. I'm married," I said standing up wobbly, he didn't say anything just stood
there, I couldn't see his face clearly because of my blurry vision but he seemed to be a good looking
guy. I swayed a little in my efforts to get away from the unknown man.
he caught my arm and steadied me, I pulled my arm out of his grasp but he held on tighter and pulled
me closer to him, and bend down to pick me up bridal style. "Hey, stop it. put me down before I scream
" I warned him, he ignored me and started walking away " You don't know who I am, I will scream and
the bodyguards will break every bone in your body and-"
"Erika," he cut off my ramble and that voice was familiar, his chest vibrated when he spoke and the way
my heart sped up confirmed my doubt
"Dimitri,"
