Chapter 6: I Can Walk by Myself
Chapter 6: I Can Walk by Myself
"In your dreams! I don't want to marry you!" Celine said with a blush as she hit him, looking completely
smitten nonetheless.
Vivian kept her head down, the redness on her face gradually paling as the pair fooled and joked
around with each other.
Even while flirting with Celine, he was still doing things to her body.
Vivian tried her best to control her trembling and ignore his influence on her,
but it was all in vain.
After so many years, she was still too easily affected by him. Every little thing he did would make her
tremble uncontrollably.
Fortunately, Chow had attracted all of Celine's attention so that she wouldn't notice Vivian's reaction.
Vivian gripped her utensils tightly and stopped eating. This content is © NôvelDrama.Org.
She quietly looked at Chow sitting opposite her, pleading for him to stop. However, after meeting her
gaze, Chow's smile grew even more twisted. The look on his face sent a deep chill down her spine.
Chow's gaze flitted over the stiffened girl and landed on the windowsill. "It's started to rain. The ground
is all drenched." His voice was so deep and low that it made Vivian's heart drop.
The dining room had a huge window in the side, where they could observe the outside surroundings
from it, including the ground.
It was just that the soundproof glass windows were firmly shut to keep the wind out. Vivian, with her
back to the window, hadn't noticed that it was raining cats and dogs outside.
Hearing his words, Vivian relaxed a little and turned to look out of the window.
The sky was completely smothered in thick, black clouds. The flowers swayed in the wind as raindrops
pelted heavily against the glass window. She flinched at the sight despite being unable to hear anything
outside.
Noticing her slight reaction, Chow nudged against the back of her foot again. Vivian quickly turned
around and looked nervously at him.
Chow seemed pleased with her reaction. "Are you scared?" he asked in an enchanting voice.
Vivian tightly held the fork in her hand, her entire body tensing up. "N-No, I'm not."
"I've said that you're not allowed to lie to me. Your face is too pale and you're still trembling. Why would
you behave like this if you weren't scared?"
Chow's eyes narrowed dangerously at her, but his movements under the table didn't cease.
Vivian tried pulling herself away, unable to say anything about it.
What could she say? Should she say it out loud that her trembling was caused by his deliberate and
provocative actions?
Vivian bit her lower lip tightly as tears started gathering in her eyes.
How could he be so despicable? Why did he have to treat her like this in front of his lover?
Was she really not worth anything to him at all?
Chow suddenly felt irritated when he saw her tearful face. His eyes darkened as he stared at her.
"I think Celine was right. Vivian, you don't look very well. I think it's better to call a doctor."
Celine had no idea what was going on under the table. She just knew that she didn't want to see Vivian
stealing Chow's attention away from her.
She stood up, walked over to Vivian, and patted her shoulder. "Why don't I send you back to your
room? You shouldn't be eating greasy food anyway. I'll ask Aunt Blaine to make some porridge for you
later."
She was behaving more like the host than Vivian was.
"I..." Vivian looked to Chow for help. Even though Celine was already there to help her up, she still
dared not leave without Chow's approval.
