280 million dollars from Ms. Lewis.”

calm tone.

The host awkwardly nodded and then turned to Jessica.

990 million dollars…”

Jessica lifted her bidding paddle again, a cold glimmer of hatred flashing in her eyes.

“300 million dollars.”

Almost as soon as Jessica finished, Lola’s voice casually chimed in.

“306 million dollars?” Jessica called out a higher bid again.

320 million dollars

Lola, still looking down and playing her game, seemed to throw out the bid offhandedly.

Jessica gripped her paddle tighter, poised to speak again, when a deep voice suddenly resonated close to her ear.

400 million dollars.”

At that moment, Lola’s fingers faltered, and the words “Game Over” flashed across her screen,

400 million dollars going once, 400 million going twice, sold!”

The auctioneer’s voice rang out urgently. This time, Lola didn’t speak up. As the gavel slammed down with a thud, Dominick claimed the crown known as the Diamond of the Glory Hill.

The auctioneer, standing on the stage, watched as the ceremonial assistant brought the crown to Dominick. He looked at Jessica and teased, “As we all know. Mr. Sinclair and Ms. Moore have been in love for many years. Now, with this priceless crown, I have to wonder, Mr. Sinclair, are you finally planning to propose to Ms. Moore?”

“Propose… Propose. The crowd echoed in unison almost instantly.

Even the lighting technician joined in, casting twin beams of light onto the couple. Dominick looked aloof and noble, while Jessica appeared gentle and elegant.

Hearing the auctioneer’s suggestion, the ceremonial assistant, who was originally handing the crown to Dominick, instead placed it directly into Jessica’s hands.

Jessica’s gaze lingered on the crown, a fleeting sweet smile gracing her lips. She then turned to Dominick, leaning in to place a gentle kiss at the corner of his mouth. That simple gesture set off a wave of warm, enthusiastic applause throughout the hall.

Dominick, taken aback by the host’s abrupt comment and even more so by Jessica’s unexpected kiss, furrowed his brows slightly. He instinctively turned to Lola. As he opened his mouth to speak, Lola’s voice began to resonate across

the hall.

“In the sacred texts of Fluviora, it is said that to hold the crown is to command the world. Yet, it also warns that whoever holds it must bear its ensuing disaster

Dominick decided not to say what he had intended to say.

Lola rose from her chair, casting a glance at the two spotlighted at the center. A faint, enigmatic smile played on her lips as she turned and made her way to the exit, the foreign man following closel

Holding the crown, Jessica forced a smile and was about to speak when a woman’s voice rose from the crowd.

“Glory Hill, also known as Kolinoir, symbolizes wealth and power, but also the root of bloodshed and death. Historical records show that, for 700 years, this diamond has sparked countless bloody massacres and conflicts. It seems that every ruler who dared claim it eventually met their tragedy.”

“What Ms. Lewis said is actually true?” someone in the crowd whispered.

The woman who had introduced the diamond, looking timidly at the audience, spoke again.

“Legend has it that this is a cursed diamond. Many kings who had it could not escape the curse. In the scriptures of the Fluviora, there is a passage that say, “To own it is to rule the world, yet to own it is to bear the disasters it brings.

Upon hearing this, the crowd was shocked. Lola looked at the crown in Jessica’s hands.

Jessica’s face grew paler by the second as she held the crown, torn between discarding it and keeping it. She sought guidance in Dominick’s eyes, but found him fixated on Lola, who was making her way to the door.

As Lola disappeared through it, Dominick instinctively started to follow.

The banquet was not yet over, and outside the hall, the silence was so profound that one could hear a pin drop.. Dominick had just taken a few steps when his stride abruptly halted.

Not far from him, Lola stood in a black evening gown, and a man in a white suit was standing before her.

The man’s eyes were a captivating shade of blue, his features so flawless they seemed sculpted. Towering and muscular, his presence was imposing. Standing side by side, one clad in black and the other in white, they created a striking, harmonious image, like two pieces of a puzzle perfectly fitting together.

Tired

He gently lifted his hand to caress Lola’s head, his gaze brimming with deep affection and tenderness,

Lola, standing before him, wore an expression of weariness. Hearing his question, she nodded slightly.

This Lola was different from the one two years ago, and unlike the stunning Lola of tonight. She seemed to shed all pretense in front of this man, contrasting with her earlier demeanor. This shift caused an unexpected pang in Dominick’s heart.

The man smiled, gently pushing a stray lock of hair back from Lola’s forehead. He took off his suit jacket and draped it over her shoulders, then scooped her up in his arms.

Lola’s hands naturally wrapped around his neck, her head resting against his chest.

Dominick, who had intended to approach, couldn’t bring himself to move forward. He watched the two figures walking away, his gaze icy and distant. His jaw tightened, and his hands, which hung at his sides, clenched into fists. without him even realizing.

“Dom, believe me, I didn’t push her!”

“Dom, the baby… Can you take me to the hospital…”

“Lola, since Jessie’s baby is gone, let your baby make it up to her…

In the grandeur of a luxuriously elegant bedroom, Lola lay coiled on a large bed veiled in wine–red drapes. Sweat dotted her forehead, her hands gripping the blanket tightly as tears streaked down her face. She was muttering to herself in between sobs,

“It wasn’t me… It wasn’t me…”.

Suddenly, Lola’s eyes snapped open, brimming with a bloodthirsty hatred.

Demonic whispers haunted her, along with the horrors. It was a dark, cold night, a cramped, filthy room, faces twisted with vile grins, the sound of clothes being torn apart, accompanied by nauseating, repulsive touches.

“Someone asked me to convey a message e to you: You don’t belong with us.”

“Aren’t you curious about what Dominick’s woman has to attract him?”

“Dominick’s woman is indeed something”

Lola appeared to be spellbound, her body shaking uncontrollably as her eyes slowly transformed into a deep, blood- red hue.
