Love’ss 205
Roger did not feel an ounce of guilt as he watched Melinda walk unsteadily. He felt that women of her station would like nothing better than to find a rich man and get married.
Women like her would do anything for money, and they had no standards.
That child might have been born out of wedlock between Melinda and some wealthy heir. She was probably just trying to benefit from Madelyn's compassion.
Upon seeing that Madelyn was angry, Roger nodded. "Yes, it was wrong of me to talk about her behind her back. But Maddie, you don't know how dangerous the world outside is. You won't go wrong by taking my advice. Don't bother yourself with these things in the future."
Madelyn rolled her eyes at him and ignored him. She just drove away.
Roger stood on the spot and watched her turn deftly onto the main road, her car drifting perfectly. He muttered to himself about how Grace had spoiled her.
In the car, Madelyn glanced at the clock and saw that she would be late to the studio because Roger had delayed her.
Not only that, her clothes were stained. She thought for a moment and called Jessie to inform her that she'd be an hour late.
When she arrived at Andrew's office, huffing indignantly, Andrew saw her stained clothes and helped her take them off. He asked, "What happened?"
Madelyn wrinkled her nose at him. "You told Roger that you were afraid that I was being scammed? Am I really that stupid?"
Andrew was startled.
He tapped her on the nose and said fondly, "I told Roger to investigate that mother and daughter. You're kind, but you shouldn't let people take advantage of your kindness." Madelyn was slightly mollified.
However, she thought about how sad Melinda must have been to hear what Roger had said.
From the moment they met, Madelyn had known how important Melinda's dignity was to her. However, she was willing to put aside her dignity for Serena's sake. Being spoken about like that must have been like getting stabbed in the
heart.
Andrew thought that Madelyn was silent because she was too angry. "Are you angry about that?"
After all, she had been completely focused on Easton in the past. Now, she was proactively participating in work, and she was even sticking her nose. -in other people's matters. Although he was happy that she had finally moved her attention away from Easton, he did not like the idea of her not focusing completely on him.
Madelyn hugged Andrew's arm. "I was pretty angry on my way here, but after hearing what you said, I'm not angry anymore."
He looked down at her and smiled slightly. "Aren't you going to go to work? You'll probably be late even if you go now."
"I asked David to get someone to deliver clothes to me. I'll hide out here with you for a while since I've informed Jessie that I'll be late."
"He doesn't need to send any over. You have clothes here."From NôvelDrama.Org.
"Do I?" Madelyn was surprised.
Andrew pulled her up and headed toward the lounge. When he opened the door of the wardrobe, she saw that there was a row of clothes for both men and women hanging there.
Madelyn knew that the men's clothes belonged to Andrew, but she had never seen any of the women's clothes before. She looked doubtfully at Andrew and asked, "Why do you have so many women's clothes here?"
"Don't overthink. These clothes are all from your personal tailor. They're all yours."
Madelyn breathed a sigh of relief.
For a moment, she had thought that Andrew had some other woman out there.
Now that she thought about it, all the clothes in Serenity Villa were brought back from the office, and it was always a large number that was brought back. The ones here probably just hadn't been sent home yet.
She looked through them and saw that they were all in the same style that Andrew always designed for her. They were undoubtedly his new designs.
Andrew took out an orange garment for her. "What do you think of this one? Do you like it?"
www
"I do like it, but is it appropriate to wear this to work? Don't you think the color is too bright?" Madelyn looked at it.
It had puff sleeves, which would make her look very youthful.
She realized that Andrew was very fond of designing brightly colored clothes for her-orange, pink, or dusky pink. He very rarely gave her anything that was black, white, or gray
Her wardrobe probably only had two or three things in it that were black, gray, or white. There was probably only one garment of each of these
colors.
