Love’ss 34
Chapter 34
“Alright. Hurry back,” Grace said.
After hanging up, Madelyn still felt rather unhappy about Elena’s
deeds. Starting from now, she resolved to torture Elena and go for the kill!
Since Elena was so unscrupulous, she could not blame Madelyn for what she was about to do. Madelyn was determined to makeThis belongs to NôvelDrama.Org - ©.
everything go badly for Elena from now on.
When Madelyn reached the Miller residence, lunch had already been served.
Grace’s and Athena’s eyes were filled with tender love when they saw. her. “Why didn’t you come back with Andrew?”
“Andrew’s busy with work, and there’s no one to eat with me, so I came back here.” Madelyn casually sat down next to Athena. During her long–term stay at the Miller residence, Athena had always doted on her.
In fact, whenever Grace went abroad, Athena would be the one to stay with Madelyn and sleep with her. That was probably why people said that feelings were built up over time.
“Eat a little more. You look so much more frail.” Athena’s heart ached
for Madelyn.
They had pressured her so much because they had believed Elena’s false words. How upset Madelyn must have been during that period?
“I’ve had enough, Grandma.” Madelyn felt rather troubled when she saw the food piling up in front of her.
There was always a price to pay for lying. She had already eaten at home. How could she manage to eat more?
Luckily, all the dishes on the table were her favorites, which made it easier for her to force the food down.
Grace said to her, “I asked Ashley to make a one–of–a–kind gown for you. She’ll be bringing it over, so you can try it on.”
Although she knew that most of Madelyn’s clothes were custom- made by Andrew, he was not familiar with gowns. That was why most of Madelyn’s gowns were haute couture pieces by famous designers.
Madelyn knew about the one–of–a–kind gown that Ashley had created, and she looked at Grace in shock. “Did you commission that for me,
Mom?
“That’s right.”
Madelyn felt touched, but her heart ached slightly.
Custom–made gowns by renowned designers like Ashley had to be booked at least half a year in advance, didn’t they? That was the time when her and Andrew’s relationship had been at its rockiest.
Despite that, she had still been in Grace’s heart.
“Why are you crying again?”
“I’m so sorry for what happened in the past, Mom.” Madelyn wiped away her tears.
Her emotions were always close to breaking point nowadays. She now knew why they always used to say that she had a cold, hard heart. It was because she had never cried no matter what happened.
“Alright, alright. It’s all in the past now. Don’t cry, dear.” Athena’s heart ached for Madelyn.
After they had found out what they thought was the truth about Andrew’s injury, the fondness and love that they showed Madelyn was greater than ever. In fact, they even felt rather guilty.
Athena had even criticized Grace for raising Madelyn to be so trusting and naive that she ended up being deceived by Elena.
Ashley came that afternoon according to plan.
When Madelyn put on the one–of–a–kind gown, Grace nodded in satisfaction. “This gown really suits you, Maddie.”
“Thank you, Mom.”
Ashley began taking the measurements of Grace and Athena, and she was kept busy making the basic designs for their clothes. She was occupied for the entire afternoon.
Over at the Garcia residence, Amelia and Elena waited in vain for Ashley to come. Finally, they could no longer resist and called to urge her to hurry.
Madelyn was sitting beside Ashley’s phone, and she saw the phone vibrating. “Ms. Ellsworth, it’s your phone.”
“It’s probably a client. Please pick up on my behalf and tell them that I don’t have any time today.” Ashley was busy with Athena and had no time to spare at all.
Madelyn had already seen that it was Amelia’s personal number. She picked up the call with a smile. She put on a gentle tone as she said, Ms. Ellsworth says that she probably won’t have time to go over and would like to ask for your understanding.”
There didn’t seem to be anything wrong with what she had said. However, when Amelia heard Madelyn’s voice, she immediately felt that Madelyn’s tone was mocking and scornful.
A stormy atmosphere was brewing between them, but before Amelia could speak, Madelyn hung up.
