My Darling, My Dearest

Chapter 440 Let Them Solve Their Own Problems

Chapter 440 Let Them Solve Their Own Problems

'Fight?'

After thinking about it for a while, Rachel decided to take a taxi to Garry's school. When she arrived at the teacher's office, she saw Gary and another child standing aside, with their heads facing towards the wall. She got a glimpse of their faces. Even from far, she could spot wounds. But fortunately, it wasn't that bad.

Just then, a teacher came over. "Are you Gary's friend?"

"Yes," Rachel said with a smile. Seeing the stern look on the teacher's face, she asked, "Why did Gary fight with that child? What's the reason for the row?"

The teacher raised the corners of her mouth and let out a helpless sigh. "They had both gone out to play basketball. That boy's personality is very aggressive, so they ended up fighting."

Rachel's eyes once again went back to the kids. She noticed Gary and the child were moving, gradually closing their distance. Soon, they were standing close to each other. With their heads lowered, they seemed to be whispering something.

Rachel couldn't help laughing. "I'm sorry to trouble you," she said to the teacher apologetically.

"It doesn't matter. All I do here school is take care of these children." The teacher called Gary's name and called him over. Then she looked at Rachel and said, "I've just taken them to the school infirmary. They are okay and the wounds will heal soon. Don't worry."

After saying thanks, Rachel walked out of the school with Gary. When she hailed a taxi, she asked, "Are you going home or do you want me to take you to your father's shop?"

He said he wished to be dropped at his father's shop. In the electric store, there were a lot of people. Gary walked in front of Rachel, like an adult. Every time he came across a careless person,

he announced, "Step aside. My aunt is pregnant."

Hearing this, a smile appeared on Rachel's face. Rubbing his hair lovingly, she said, "You are so sweet and caring, thanks."

Gary stopped, turned around to look at her, and said in an authoritative tone, "Aunt, I'm not a kid anymore. I am a grown-up who can take care of you."

"Yes, yes, you sure are," Jimmy said, appearing before them out of the blue. His face fell on Gary's wounds. Kneeling down, he asked, "Hey, what's up with your face?

Did you get into a fight?" A frown appeared on Jimmy's face. This material belongs to NôvelDrama.Org.

Rachel explained, "He had a small conflict with his classmate and the two of them got into a fight. The teacher asked him to go back early."

"Thanks for your help!" Jimmy stood up straight and took Gary to his side. With a trace of apology in his eyes, he said, "I'm really sorry to trouble you."

"It's not a big deal. Now that I've brought him to your shop safely, I think I should go back." When she turned around and was about to leave, a kid came rushing towards her path. Seeing that she was about to bump into him, Rachel wanted to move aside and her feet didn't budge.

Seeing this, Jimmy rushed and pulled her back. His hands were protectively wrapped on her body. "Are you okay?" he asked, sounding genuinely concerned.

"I'm fine." The incident that happened now left her a little breathless. If Jimmy hadn't come at the right time, she couldn't imagine what would have happened to her.

Slowly, he let her go and scratched the back of his head. "I am glad you are fine. If anything happened while you are in my shop, I'll be the one to blame."

Rachel smiled at his words.

The two of them began talking again. A figure was watching them but it went unnoticed by them.

Jack's face suddenly darkened, and an indescribable desolation and coldness appeared. He clenched his fists while his heart was brewing with resentment.

He drove here with an intention of having a chat with Jimmy. Since he knew Jimmy was short of money, he had planned to buy him off with money. It seemed like a good way to keep him away from Rachel. But the sight before him brought him to a standstill.

'She is here in his shop!' he thought with anger. Their relationship had to be quite intimate if Rachel had picked up his child. He realized there was nothing he could do about it. Feeling both pain and anger, he disappeared from there.

In the children's amusement park, Lea rested her head on Henry's shoulder, and from time to time looked at Rita sitting on the merry-go-round.

Henry covered his mouth with his hand, yawned and asked, "What's wrong? Why do you seem sad?"

"It's about Rachel," Lea said. Sitting up straight, she entwined her hand with Henry's. "What's wrong with Jack? Rachel is pregnant and yet he decides to be with another woman. What is up with him?"

"How do I know?" Henry dodged having an eye contact with her. He pointed at the merry-go-round and said, "Hey, look, isn't it a bit difficult for Rita to sit still? Shouldn't we go and help her?" It was his vain attempt at changing the topic.

"Not at all. Rita always plays here. And merry-go -round is her favorite. She doesn't need us,"

Lea said. "You and Jack must know each other very well since you grew up together. Didn't he tell you something? If so, tell me about it. I am very concerned about Rachel. I want to help her.

Henry realized there was no way out. He was indeed trapped.

This was a sensitive topic and he himself had no knowledge of it.

He put his hand on her shoulder and gently patted her. "You have to let them solve their problems by themselves. It is their business and we don't have to interfere."

With a sneer, Lea widened her eyes and pushed his hands away. "Henry, I didn't realize you could be so selfish. My best friend is probably having the worst days of her life. And you don't have the heart to help her? You are a detestable man."

"I didn't mean that, Lea. Can you calm down first? Don't twist my words." Henry stretched out his hand and rubbed his temples. He couldn't help but sigh in his heart. 'Lea didn't have such a bad temper before. I don't know what's wrong with her these days. She has no control over her temper.'

While he was thinking about this, Lea turned around and put her hands across her chest. "That's exactly what you meant. You think I am a busybody, don't you?"

"No, Lea, I never said that!" Henry shook his head helplessly and tried to grab her hand but she pushed him again.

Lea stood up, turned around and snorted at him. Then she angrily walked to the side of the merry - go-round that had just came to a halt. Walking close to Rita, she said, "Baby, we have to stop playing today. Let's go home."

"Why?" Rita raised her head, rolled her eyes and pointed at Henry, who was still sitting on the wooden bench not far away. "What about Dad? Isn't he coming with us?"

"He is a big boy. He can come on his own." Anger was burning in her heart. Lea started walking with Rita. Just then, a strange smell came from somewhere. Suddenly, Lea stopped, opened her mouth and was overcome by an urge to puke.

The car keys were in Henry's hand. He had thought Rita would return.

But seeing that she had been gone for a while, he got up and went to see her. She was standing still. He reached out to hold her. While doing do, he frowned and asked, "Honey, what's wrong with you? Are you okay?"

"It's none of your business." Trying her best to suppress the disgust in her heart, Lea shook off his hand and continued to walk forward. Once again, she was stopped and this time it was nausea.

'Why is she being so hard to deal with?' Henry thought, frustrated.

With a sigh, he followed her. Seeing her pale face, he was a little worried. In spite of her protests, he lifted Lea up and carried her on his shoulder. He motioned for Rita to follow them to the car.

As soon as Rachel got home, she drank a glass of water. When she was about to go upstairs to change her clothes, her phone suddenly rang. Tired, she answered it in a low voice. These days, she was almost always tired.

Julie just came out of the kitchen and was about to ask Rachel what she wanted for dinner. Unexpectedly, Rachel was sitting on the chair at the vestibule again. With her head bowed, she was wearing her shoes. Julie quickly asked, "Miss, where are you — "

Before she finished her words, Rachel said in a hurry, "Julie, there is an emergency. I need to go to the hospital. You don't have to prepare dinner for me today."

Seeing that she was running out in a hurry, Julie followed her and said with concern, "Miss, slow down. Remember that you are pregnant. This isn't good for your health!"

But Rachel paid no heed to her words. She sprinted out of the house. Outside the emergency room, Henry was pacing back and forth, looking utterly anxious. As soon as he saw Rachel, he ran up to her and said, "Great! You're finally here."

Rachel frowned and asked, "What's wrong? Don't keep me in suspense. I am extremely worried."

A while ago she had received a call from Henry. However, he didn't give her any details. Instead, he informed her that Lea was in the hospital and pleaded her to come. On the way, she had prayed for Lea, hoping it wasn't something bad.

Henry sighed helplessly and said, "I didn't know what's wrong with her. She retched two times. I was afraid that something might happen to her, so I brought her to the hospital. Now they told me she is pregnant."

"That's a good new!" Rachel was relieved. "Then why don't you go into the consulting room? Why are you standing outside?"

Henry scratched his forehead and said, "We just had a fight, and now she's still angry. I don't think she will talk to me."

'Oh Henry! You called me for this silly reason. I thought something big had happened!' she thought in her mind. This couple fought constantly. Rachel wondered when they would grow up and act like adults. Looking up, she realized Henry was waiting for an answer. She nodded and gently pushed the door of the emergency room open. As soon as she entered, Lea flung a pillow at her. She took it steadily and pretended to be angry. "Are you trying to hurt me, Lea? That's very mean considering I am pregnant."

Lea, who had thrown it thinking it was Henry, was now stunned. "Hey, when did you come here? I didn't know it was you. I am so sorry," she said, sitting up straight.
