Chapter 42
Chapter 42
Neville was about to call Madison when he realized his phone number had been blocked.
He felt frustrated and sent a message to Micah. [Do you know where Madison lives now?]
Micah replied: [Neville, do you really think I’m your ex-wife’s spy? Besides, you lived with her for three years, and you don’t even know how many properties are under her name?]
Neville was speechless.
Micah continued: [Besides, considering your family’s strictness towards her, you probably didn’t transfer any properties to her name. And when you divorced, she didn’t get a penny. The Guzman family doesn’t treat her well either. She’s probably homeless right now.]
Neville: [Get to the point.]
Micah: [Well, your ex-wife is now a super VIP of Collins. Maybe she h o o k e d up with the owner of that Koenigsegg- He might be old, but he knows how to treat women well. At least she’llive better than being with you.]
Neville felt even more disheartened. He shouldn’t have asked Micah.
Before Micah could send another message, Neville blocked all his contacts.
Neville composed himself and called Bernard to his office. “Call Madison and tell her that tomorrow morning, I’ bring Daisy to apologize to her. Also, ask her to send the address.”
Bernard asked, “Mr. Preston, why don’t you make the call yourself?”
Feeling Neville’s icy gaze, Bernard shivered and explained, “I just thought it might be better if you made the call. Miss Guzman might appreciate the gesture.”
Neville smirked. If he could make the call, would he need Bernard?
But Neville wouldn’t tell him that.
He coldly asked, “Do you think I will degrade myself to call her?”
Bernard confidently said, “Mr. Preston, you need to coax her. It’s because you’re proud that Miss Guzman used divorce to control you. If you give in, she might change her mind.”
Neville furrowed his brow. He couldn’t understand Madison and didn’t know what she really wanted.
He had hinted that if she behaved well, he wouldn’t mind getting back to her. As long as she wasn’t too greedy, she would get what she deserved. But Madison never let him finish his sentences.
Neville pulled at his collar, feeling irritated. “Just make the call.”
Bernard, fearing he had angered Neville, quickly called Madison. “Hello, Miss Guzman, this is Bernard.”
Madison seemed to pause for a moment before responding coldly, “I have settled all financial matters with Mr. Preston. What do you want?”
Bernard had the call on speaker mode, and Neville heard her words. His face instantly darkened.
Bernard, afraid that Madison might hang up, said quickly, “Mr. Preston felt sorry for what happened between you and Ms. Preston. He will bring Ms. Preston to your place for an apology tomorrow
morning.”
Madison, who was enjoying a spa treatment, sat up as she heard this.
Neville didn’t indulge Daisy during the incident.
And now he asked Daisy to apologize to her personally. It was truly unexpected.
She wanted to see what game Neville and Daisy were playing.
“Alright, I won’t go anywhere tomorrow. I’ll be at home waiting for them.”
After hanging up, Madison sent Bernard the address.
After a while, she called Hazel. “Arrange for some well-known media to come to Whitemarsh Chateau tomorrow.”
If Daisy wanted to apologize, she had to do it in front of the media to show her sincerity.
Knowing that Madison planned to counter the Preston family, Hazel replied, “Great. I’ll handle it.”
Madison would have a good dream tonight. She even looked forward to Daisy’s performance tomorrow.
Madison had lived with Daisy for three years, and naturally, she understood what kind of person Daisy was.
Influenced by Regina, Daisy had adopted an arrogant and domineering attitude, treating people differently depending on their social status. How could she sincerely apologize to Madison?
It would be best if Madison could hype up the matter, letting everyone know Daisy’s true face.
However, someone was restless tonight.
Neville knew Madison had a habit of doing spa treatments at this time. When he heard the sound of water, he couldn’t help but recall the graceful figure he had seen many times during their three years of marriage.
If there was something he felt attached to about her, it must be her figure. It seemed like she was made for him, always able to awaken the desire he had suppressed for a long time.
He had been offered women by business partners many times during his business trips, but he couldn’t muster any interest. Only Madison could arouse him.
Madison had a nice sleep. When she checked her phone, she receiv
a message from Hazel. [Miss Guzman, I’ve
arranged the media. They’ll be here at six.]
Madison repl Content bel0ngs to Nôvel(D)r/a/ma.Org.
[Thank you, Hazel]
Hazel: [If you really want to thank me, do me a favor. I’ve been with Ross for five years, but he’s not willing to marry me.]
Madison playfully replied: [Ross loves freedom. He hates being tied down by marriage. Even if his father pressures him, it won’t work. You might as well let him go and find a better man.]
Hazel: [Don’t encourage me. Maybe I will really leave him one day and marry a younger man.]
The two bantered for a while, and Madison put her phone aside, intending to get some more sleep.
At this moment, the doorbell & Madison frowned and thought, ‘It’s only past five, and the media arrived so
early?’
She got up, put on a dress, tied her hair into a ponytail, and went to open the door.
However, Madison received a slap before she could see the comer.
Madison was caught off guard and didn’t have time to react.
As she saw that it was her mother, Madison’s eyes gradually turned cold.
7.
In the three years she married into the Preston family, Lily only sided with Regina to degrade her, treating her as a tool to make money. Lily repeatedly asked for money, licking the Preston family’s boots shamelessly. It was because of this that Regina and Daisy intensified their insults at Madison.
Lily immediately scolded, “You bit h, you still dare to glare at me. Come with me to the Preston family and apologize, or the whole family will be ruined by you!”
Lily reached out to grab Madison’s wrist, but Madison skillfully avoided her.
Madison stared at Lily with an icy gaze and said, “So, what exactly do you think I’ve done
