No Escape from Love

Chapter 37

The crowd's murmurs were all unkind, targeted at Elena, and she couldn't stand it any longer. She grabbed her things and slipped away in embarrassment. After walking a short distance, Elena suddenly stopped in her tracks.

She had a victorious expression on her face as she walked back toward me and asked in a low voice, "Serena, have you grown used to Julian's life revolving around you?"

I frowned. "I already told you—I hope that Julian and you never appear in front of me again. Beyond that, what Julian chooses to do is his own choice."noveldrama

What a lunatic. She was just completely irrational.

After Elena left, I got a message on my phone as soon as I arrived at the coffee shop.

It was from Julian.

"Can't they just leave me alone?" I muttered to myself.

The message read, "Serena, I've already given up on Elena. I won't ever contact her again. I just hope you can forgive me."

Without a second thought, I blocked that number.

Unexpectedly, Julian was waiting outside the coffee shop when I finished my shift that evening.

"Serena, I've really reflected on my mistakes. I won't ever contact Elena again. Can you please forgive me?" Julian said, greeting me with his usual routine of a bouquet of flowers and a box from some luxury brand.

After an entire day of work, I was already exhausted and annoyed. Julian being so oblivious and persistent only added to my frustrations.

"I can't forgive you at all. I've already told you, we didn't break up because of Elena. It was because of you," I said to Julian.

Julian's expression wavered after what I said, but he still refused to admit his mistakes. "Didn't I just make one mistake? Serena, why are you being so harsh?"

"I'm not being harsh. And I'd

appreciate it if you stopped

bothering me in the future, Mr

ke," I said as I slung my bag over I my shoulder and stepped past him.

"I came with an incredible offering today! Blake Group has been invited to an exclusive gala in Lonesdeep. It's a high-class event where you can network with all kinds of elites."

I frowned slightly.

Julian confidently walked over. "How about it, Serena? Without me, you wouldn't have any access to high-end events like this. Alex only has time for himself, so he wouldn't bother making such plans for you."

I couldn't help but laugh at his confident tone.

"There's no need, Mr. Blake. I'm just a simple woman. You should go to such an upper-class gala by yourself," I said as I suppressed my amusement.

"Think about it carefully. Elena was dying to join this event, but I didn't let her. This

is your only chance," Julian said in an agitated manner.

I walked away without looking back.

When I returned to the dormitory, Lila wasn't back yet. I looked at the time and found that I still had some free time.

I switched on the computer and started browsing a job-hunting website. I was eager to solve my impending employment concerns.

"I'm back," Lila said as she pushed open the dormitory room door. She looked over my shoulder, "Serena, are you already looking at job-hunting websites?"

I nodded and replied, "I want to sort out my employment as soon as possible."
