Lenora gestured toward the bathroom inside the room. "I'm done. You can go freshen up now."
Zachary picked up his pajamas and walked into the bathroom.
The scent of shower gel wafted throughout the bathroom, where wet and dry areas were distinctly separated.
That was the scent that lingered on Lenora's body.
They trailed up Zachary's nose, ascending along various nerves all the way to his brain.
Zachary's body grew increasingly hot, becoming unbearable. With his eyes closed, his mind. was filled with past images of his intimate moments with Lenora.
Lenora was sitting on the bed, casually scrolling through her phone. Just as she was about to sleep, she suddenly realized that Zachary had been in the bathroom for quite some time, yet she hadn't heard the sound of water. Lenora was doubtful. She lifted the quilt, got out of bed, and walked to the bathroom door. From within, she faintly heard heavy panting,
A few seconds later, Lenora suddenly realized what Zachary was doing inside. Her face flushed crimson in an instant, and she hurriedly ran back to the bed.
After a short while, the sound of trickling water echoed within the bathroom, but it didn't last long before it ceased. Zachary then emerged from the bathroom. Lenora felt the mattress beside her sink down.
Soon, Lenora drifted off into dreamland.
In the middle of the night, she was half-asleep, half-awake, as if she could hear heavy panting close to her ear.
Lenora woke up, realizing that the panting sound was not from his dream, but from the person beside him, Zachary.
Bathed in moonlight, Lenora glanced at him. "Zack, are you asleep?"
"No." Zachary's voice was hoarse.
"Why is your face so red?"

As she spoke, Lenora extended a hand, lightly testing Zachary's forehead.
It was scorching hot.
"Zack, you have a fever?" Lenora immediately sat up from the bed.
Her hands were cool, like a refreshing rain after a long drought. 17%2

Overwhelmed by his emotions, Zachary instinctively grasped her hand, pressing it against his face. He opened his eyes, gazing intensely at her in the darkness, a deep glimmer flickering in the depths of his eyes. "It's not a fever. There was something wrong with the soup I had last night."
That should have been a replenishing soup.
Moreover, it was a highly nutritious soup.
Lenora was not an inexperienced young girl. Realizing something, she asked, "So... what do we do now?"
Zachary propped himself up, abruptly pinning Lenora beneath him, their eyes locked.
He held himself back, his brows furrowed into a knot, with fine beads of sweat already forming on his forehead.
His exhaled breath was unbearably hot.
After a moment of hesitation, Lenora wrapped her arms around his neck, her fingers lightly brushing over the neat stubble on the back of his neck. In a soft voice, she said, "Be gentle."
Zachary's face revealed a look of hidden endurance. He took a deep breath and buried his head in the comfortably cool nape of the neck.
Suddenly, he deftly rolled out of bed and strode toward the bathroom.
"Zack?"
"Go ahead and sleep. I'm going to take a bath."
Zachary walked into the bathroom, and soon, the sound of running water echoed from within.
Lenora lay numbly on the bed, her heart filled with unbearable distress.
She feared causing him discomfort and wished to be his remedy, yet it was uncertain whether her intentions would be appreciated.

He would rather endure discomfort, even if it meant taking cold showers, all to uphold his loyalty to Susanna.
She was merely wishful thinking.
Lenora pulled the blanket over herself, turned onto her side, curled up slightly, and closed her eyes.
The sound of water in the bathroom echoed like icy raindrops falling in her heart.
Even so, she couldn't help but worry about him. Taking a cold shower late at night, he might catch a cold.
Immediately, Lenora cast aside such thoughts from her mind.
Just as he was willing to disregard his own health to eat spicy food for Susanna, he did so willingly and wholeheartedly.
He didn't even care about his own health, so why should she bother to interfere?
A moment later, the pitter-patter of water ceased.
The bathroom door creaked open.
The sound of footsteps gradually drew closer.
From behind, there came a rustling sound, and Lenora felt the bed beside her sink down.
A chill swept over, and Lenora pulled the blanket tighter around her. "Feeling any better?"
"Yes," Zachary responded softly, "Go to sleep."
Lenora didn't speak again.
The room fell silent, leaving only the sound of two people breathing.
Lenora wasn't sure if Zachary was asleep. She lay motionless in bed, her earlier drowsiness completely dispelled, her mind clear as day.
Having lain down for too long, her body had become somewhat stiff, so she turned over.
After an indeterminable amount of time had passed, Zachary suppressed a cough. "Lenora?"
Lenora remained silent.
Zachary took a deep breath, carefully lifted the blanket and got out of bed, then walked toward the bathroom.

A moment later, Zachary emerged from the bathroom wrapped in a bath towel, the figure on the bed had shifted positions.
"Did I disturb you?" He sat down by the bed, asking in a low voice.
"No." Lenora shook her head.
"Can't sleep?"
"Yes."
"Shall I tell you a story in Granatanolan?"
"Mm, thank you."
Zachary was proficient in four languages-Clusian, Uprian, Japriumian, and Granatanolan.
In the past, whenever she couldn't sleep, he would tell her stories in Granatanolan.
She didn't understand Granatanolan, but the soothing cadence of his speech brought her an unusual sense of tranquility.
Inside the room, Zachary's voice resonated, deep and magnetic.
Lenora cleared her mind of distractions, listening intently.
After an indeterminate amount of time, the steady rhythm of breathing could be heard nearby. Zachary's voice gradually fell silent as he softly called out, "Lenora?" There was no response.
She had fallen asleep.
Zachary helped her tuck in the blanket's corners, closed his eyes, and fell into a deep sleep.
In the hazy twilight, the ring of a cell phone broke the silence, Lenora reached for the phone; eyes still closed, yet accurately hit the answer button. "Who is it?"
With a "beep," the person on the other end of the phone didn't say a word and simply hung
1. up.
Lenora then squinted her eyes, glanced at the screen, and widened her eyes in surprise.
She suddenly realized that she was holding Zachary's phone.

At this point, Lenora was completely awake. She looked at the call log from just a moment ago. The note on it read, "Susanna."
Oh no.
She answered the call that Susanna had made to Zachary.
Lenora quickly woke Zachary. "I'm sorry. I just answered your phone. It was Susanna who called you. Do you want to call her back?"
Zachary glanced at the call history on his phone screen, took the phone, and got out of bed. As he dialed Susanna's number, he headed toward the bathroom.
As soon as the call connected, it was abruptly hung up from the other end.
This had happened several times in a row. It was clear that Susanna was angry.
Zachary hurriedly dressed, opened the door, and said, "I'm leaving first. I'll have the driver come pick you up."
Lenora sat on the bed, watching his hurried silhouette, a bitter smile creeping onto the corner of her lips.
He's truly worried about Susanna.
"Cough, cough, cough," came the voice of the old lady from the doorway. She knocked on the door. "Nora, are you up yet? I just saw Zack leaving. That boy is in such a hurry to get to work he didn't even eat breakfast." "Grandma, I'm up now. I'll be right out."
With a slight tug at the corner of her mouth, Lenora struggled to her feet and began to dress.
At that very moment, Zachary had been standing at the doorstep of Susanna's house for two hours.
Finally, Yelena opened the door, allowing Zachary to come in. She whispered to him, "Susanna's condition is very unstable right now. Don't provoke her, and try to go along with her as much as possible." "MmZachary walked up to the bedroom door and knocked. "Susanna, are you in there?"
"I'm not here!" echoed Susanna's loud voice from within the room.
Zachary pushed the door open directly, only to find Susanna sitting on the bay window, speaking anxiously, "Susanna, you mustn't let despair overcome you."
