Please Give Me Another Chance Mrs Hamilton

Chapter 332

When Nadine left the house earlier, her panicked behavior had truly startled Avery. Upon hearing Avery's voice, Nadine felt a bit of the coldness in her heart

ease.

She made an effort to keep her voice calm as she said, "It's not too serious. Sean's left elbow cartilage was dislocated, but the doctors have reattached it. He just needs to rest, and the cast should come off in a week."

At this moment, Avery's concern for her and Sean felt like a ray of light in Nadine's gloomy life. The presence of this light brought a faint smile to her face.

"The doctor also said that since Sean is still growing, his bones will heal quickly. He'll recover fully without any long-term effects." Nadine relayed what the doctor had told her.

After she explained Sean's condition, Avery's relief was palpable even through the phone. "That's a relief. Thank goodness Sean is okay! Which hospital are you at, babe? Send me the address, and I'll bring your toiletries over and visit Sean."

Nadine didn't hesitate to give her the address. At a time like this, her shattered heart really needed comfort.

As expected from her bestie, Avery arrived at the hospital within half an hour. She burst into the pediatric ward holding a large pink bag. Reaching the door, she carefully eased it open to avoid disturbing Sean's sleep.

Upon seeing Avery, Nadine hurried over and enveloped her in a hug without a word. Her eyes turned moist with tears. She had been under immense stress, and Avery's presence was a much-needed relief.

Avery, understanding that Nadine was shaken by Sean's injury, didn't push her away. She simply stood therewith the bag and let Nadine hold her.

Nadine held the embrace for a moment before releasing Avery. Noticing the bag in Avery's hand, Nadine offered a slightly apologetic smile.

"I'm sorry. I forgot you were carrying the luggage. You must be exhausted. Let me take the bag."

Avery didn't give Nadine a chance to act. She took the bag and placed it in the designated storage for patients' families.

"It's nothing. I've got this," Avery replied. She then approached Sean's bed, carefully watching his sleeping face until she was reassured. With a bright smile, she said softly, "Let's talk outside."

To avoid disturbing Sean, the two ladies walked arm-in-arm out of the room and into the corridor. Avery could tell that Nadine was putting on a brave face, though she was clearly vulnerable and in need of comfort.

She took Nadine's hand and tried to warm it up. "Why are your hands so cold? You don't look well. Is it related to Sean?"

Nadine shook her head. "It's not about Sean. It's something else. My own issue."

Avery wrapped both of her hands around Nadine's and warmed them. "Tell me what happened. Is it about Brad and Jean?"noveldrama
