As she passed the health center, Deasy accidentally ran into the doctor who had treated her before. She smiled and greeted him politely.
“Good evening, Doctor.”
“Good evening, Miss Deasy. Just got off work?”
Deasy nodded.
“Yes, Doctor. I just got off. Is your practice room nearby? Is that handsome boyfriend of yours not with you today?”
“Handsome boyfriend?”
Deasy immediately made a puzzled expression. After the food delivery guy mentioned it yesterday, now the doctor who examined her was saying the same thing.
“Yeah,” the doctor confirmed once more. “The one who carried and waited for Miss Deasy in the health center. What’s his name? Mr. Lucas, right?”
“Yes, my boyfriend’s name is Lucas,” Deasy replied. Well, they were currently in a relationship, weren’t they?
“As far as I can see, your boyfriend is really attentive. He didn’t leave Miss Deasy’s side for a moment. He waited eagerly for Miss Deasy to wake up. It touched me.”
Deasy smiled, grateful for the extraordinary attention Lucas had given her. If that man hadn’t rushed to help her, her life might not have been saved.
“Yes, I was really lucky that he helped me right away.”
“That’s why I say Miss Deasy is really lucky. Mr. Lucas seems very attentive, kind, looks affectionate, and he’s handsome too. A complete package. He suits Miss Deasy perfectly.”
“Do you have to mention that my boyfriend is handsome?”
“He is handsome, Miss Deasy. I, as a guy, admit it. Anyway, Mr. Lucas looks just right physically and appearance-wise. Especially when he brought Miss Deasy, Mr. Lucas happened to be wearing a black suit. So, his aura was even more pronounced.”
“A suit?”
Deasy was getting more confused. As far as she remembered, that night Lucas had approached her wearing a black shirt. Not a suit or any other formal attire.
“Doctor, are you sure you’re not mistaken? My boyfriend wears glasses, doesn’t he?”
The doctor shook his head immediately. Then he tried to recall the figure he had seen that night.
“Mr. Lucas wasn’t wearing glasses that night, Miss. As far as I can tell, he looked really neat, like he had just come from a big event. He was wearing a black suit. His hair was undercut style. I remember it clearly, and there’s no way I could be wrong.”
Deasy shook her head. This Doctor must have confused someone else. Besides, since when did Lucas Orion have an undercut hairstyle? As far as she knew, he always combed his hair in the middle part or sometimes without a part at all.
“I think you’ve got the wrong person, Doctor.”
“No, Miss Deasy. I’m sure it was Mr. Lucas. He was the one who brought you and claimed to be your boyfriend.”
Deasy was left completely bewildered. She was confused by what the doctor was telling her. Was the person the doctor was talking about really the same Lucas Orion she knew? Or maybe Lucas had just finished attending an event at that time. But an undercut hairstyle and no thick glasses? Deasy was somewhat skeptical about this information.
Ignoring for a moment what the doctor had told her, Deasy, who had just gotten out of the elevator, quickly walked toward her apartment unit.
However, when she was about to open the door, she was slightly surprised. The door to her unit was unlocked. Deasy was certain that she had closed and locked it tightly this morning. So, why was it open now?
Holding her phone, Deasy cautiously stepped inside. After closing the door, she immediately turned on all the lights and looked around, both to the right and left. She was afraid there might be a burglar or an unfamiliar person who had suddenly entered her apartment without her knowledge.NôvelDrama.Org © 2024.
Continuing to move quietly, Deasy walked toward her bedroom. She tried to open the door, intending to turn on the lights.
But before she could even press the light switch, suddenly, a person appeared from behind and immediately hugged her tightly. He even tried to cover both of her eyes.
Deasy instantly wanted to struggle. But because of the great difference in strength, her efforts seemed futile.
“Don’t touch me!” Deasy shouted while trying to keep struggling, especially since the person seemed to be trying to embrace her.
“It’s me, Lucas,” the man whispered. Then laughter followed, filling the room.
“Lucas!”
Deasy exclaimed loudly. She quickly turned around and then hugged the man she recognized.
She almost cried because of Lucas’ surprising actions, which had scared her.
“You’re so annoying!” Deasy protested while still hugging him.
Lucas, who was laughing, then reached for Deasy’s face. He cupped it, then leaned in for a deep kiss.
For a moment, Lucas was lost in the kiss. He kept on kissing, even passionately kissing both of Deasy’s lips alternately. As if their separation of a few days had fostered an intense longing.
“I missed you so much,” Lucas whispered after releasing their kiss.
“I missed you too. A lot.”
Lucas leaned in for another kiss. In fact, seconds later, he even lifted Deasy’s body and gently laid her right on the bed. And, of course, right after that, he resumed the kiss that had momentarily unraveled.
“You’re so mean, scaring me like that!” Deasy protested after Lucas released their lip lock.
“I’m not mean, darling. I just wanted to give you a surprise.”
“It wasn’t funny.”
“Well, I’m not known for my sense of humor, am I? I mean, I rushed home early just so I could keep you company tonight.”
Deasy smiled with delight, touched by what Lucas had done for her. Lucas was willing to come home early just to be with her and accompany her to bed, like the night before.
“Have you eaten?” Deasy asked Lucas.
“Yes, I have. I even took a shower. Didn’t you see I’m already in my pajamas?”
“Alright then, I’ll take a shower, and then we can go to sleep. I’m sure you must be really tired.”
“Don’t you want to cuddle for a bit first?”
Deasy blushed and smiled. She understood the meaning behind Lucas’s question.
“We have tomorrow, Luc. We see each other every day and spend time together.”
Lucas nodded and let Deasy go to freshen up. After she was done, they both climbed into bed, ready to rest.
As they cuddled, with Lucas genuinely feeling exhausted, he appeared to fall asleep first. Meanwhile, Deasy, still awake, chose to gaze at Lucas’s peaceful sleeping face.
After a while, Deasy remembered something. She reached out her hand, trying to grab the glasses perched on Lucas’s straight nose.
For a moment, Deasy was curious. She wanted to know why he always wore his glasses almost all the time and, at the same time, she wanted to see how Lucas looked without them.
So, Deasy reached for Lucas’s glasses, then opened them, and what she discovered left her in shock.
