Rebirth of the Prime Dragon Master

Chapter 1953 Starting The Resistance

Chapter 1953 Starting The Resistance

"That's easy! I will create an opening for you so you can cross the border from the nearest defense line

of the battlefield," Rocky clarified. Of course, he already had a plan.

"This is an excellent opportunity to get some proper exercises again!" Michelle exclaimed, looking

utterly excited by the prospect.

Afterward, Rocky gave the girls a more detailed explanation about their deployment. Once the girls

understood what they needed to do, he left the independent military camp.

However, he didn't return to Gilbert's mansion. He headed to the Genie Fief instead to look for Adrian.

Now that the king had strong-armed the decision to have Zain as his successor, Rocky's previous

arrangements were consequently ruined, which meant he had some adjustments to make.

But unexpectedly, Rocky didn't see Adrian when he arrived at the Genie Fief. It turned out that Zain had

summoned Adrian and appointed him as the left grand commander, and the latter had headed for the

front line.

Therefore, Rocky had no choice but to return to Gilbert's mansion for the time being. He would go to

the front line with Gilbert later.

Two days later, Gilbert went to the Royal Land to meet the king, just as Rocky had said.

This time was crucial for the army, so they figured that the king would not dare to refuse Gilbert.

Moreover, he would likely allow Gilbert to fight independently, giving him enough military power to

assist Zain with all his strength.

Since Gilbert had prepared ahead of time, he was able to depart as soon as he returned to the Ghost

Capital. And together with Rocky and Vivian, he led the army to the front line to meet the royal family's

army.

A few days later, the team Gilbert led finally arrived at the front line, where the royal family's army was

situated.

Zain was currently inside his camp.

"Leader Gilbert, Odin, I'm honored that you have come to support us at this crucial time. Your actions

show your loyalty to the royal family. Please forgive me if I have offended you before!" Zain greeted

them warmly. Sitting in the commander in chief's sizeable chair and adorned with his golden armor, he

looked simply majestic.

Honestly, he didn't expect that Gilbert and Rocky would come to support him voluntarily. But he also

knew this was the best time to win people over to his side, so he swallowed his pride and welcomed

them with open arms.

When Zain was appointed as the king's successor unexpectedly, it shook the plans that Rocky had

painstakingly worked on. He had tried his best to alienate Zain against the Primitive Fief and the

Purgatory Fief, thereby weakening him. It wasn't easy, but all his efforts went down the drain when the

king announced his decision.

However, all was not lost for Rocky. Although Zain became the king's successor, it didn't mean he

automatically had the people's support. That was the entire purpose of Zain leading the army instead of

the king in the battle against Enoch. The achievements this battle would secure his position as the

king's successor. So if Zain failed and lost to Enoch, the king might reconsider his appointment.

"Leader Gilbert, His Majesty told me your team can fight independently, so I won't require you to join

the existing military system this time. If necessary, I will let you assist me," Zain briefed Gilbert.

"Okay." Gilbert nodded at once. Of course, he didn't have any objections.

"You can go and rest for now. I will send someone to inform you if anything happens." With those

parting words, Zain left them to their own devices.

After that, Rocky, Gilbert, and Vivian left the camp, exchanging knowing glances with each other once

they were outside.

"It looks like Prince Zain still doesn't trust us!" Gilbert sighed.

"That's for sure. He won't use us unless he has to," Rocky agreed. He had expected this treatment

from the start.

"Do you have a plan?" Gilbert asked, hearing the nonchalance in Rocky's voice.

"Of course! Before long, Zain will definitely treat us differently," Rocky answered confidently.

"I hope you're right." Gilbert nodded.

After parting with Gilbert and his sister, Rocky went to the left army's military camp to see Adrian.

Adrian was now the left army's grand commander and second only to Zain. It was no easy feat to see

him, especially because Rocky had to go to great lengths not to draw anyone's attention.

Therefore, he disguised himself as a soldier and snuck inside until he infiltrated Adrian's camp.

Adrian was inside, alone.

"Long time no see, Grand Commander Adrian!" Seeing that the coast was clear, Rocky took off his

helmet and greeted the other man openly.

"Odin, it's you..." Adrian gasped in surprise when he saw Rocky.

"Shh!" Rocky widened his eyes at him and motioned with his hands, hinting for Adrian to be quiet at

once. He took the hint and settled down, while Rocky set up a sound insulation enchanted barrier in the

camp.

"Why are you here, Odin?" Adrian asked once they were sure nobody could eavesdrop on them.

"I and Leader Gilbert are leading a team to support the royal army," Rocky revealed.

"What? If you came to help the royal family's army, isn't that a good thing for Prince Zain?" Adrian

exclaimed. The news shocked him because Rocky and Gilbert worked for Layla. Although the king had

abolished her royal identity, knowing Rocky and Gilbert, they wouldn't turn their back on her so easily.

"Water can carry a boat, but it can also sink a boat beneath its merciless waves. Whether it is a good

thing for Prince Zain or not depends on what I am going to do next." A mysterious smile played on

Rocky's lips.

"I didn't expect that the king would declare Prince Zain as his successor, but luckily, you advised me to

pretend to be loyal to him. Otherwise, I might have suffered the same miserable fate as the leaders of

the Primitive Fief and the Purgatory Fief," Adrian remarked with a sigh.

"What happened to the leaders of the Primitive Fief and the Purgatory Fief?" Rocky asked with his

eyebrows scrunched.

"Don't you know? After Prince Zain became the king's successor, he found an excuse to punish the

leaders of the Primitive Fief and the Purgatory Fief. Now, Prince Zain has complete control over both

fiefs," Adrian explained with a grave expression.

"Oh, Prince Zain must be really narrow-minded. He did it so soon." Rocky nodded slightly as if he

expected it already. "What about the military leadership that Zain gave you before?"This belongs © NôvelDra/ma.Org.

"He took that back, too," Adrian answered.

"So he doesn't trust you enough yet," Rocky remarked.

"Yes. I was looking forward to seeing you. What have you been up to these days? And how is Gloria?"

Adrian asked curiously. After all, his daughter was his priority.

"She's fine. Don't worry about her. As for stuff I've been doing, it's a long story. We should discuss the

most important thing at the moment," Rocky responded as his face became somber as a grave.

"What is it?" Adrian asked, looking perplexed.

"Knowing the current situation, who do you think has the greater chance of winning in this war? The

royal family or Enoch?" Rocky inquired straightforwardly.

"Hmmm... it's hard to say." Adrian frowned.

"You don't have to be careful with your words. The two of us are the only ones here," insisted Rocky.

"The royal family has the support of the seven fiefs, while only two fiefs are behind Enoch. Moreover,

the royal family's troops are also above Enoch's. That means the royal family has a bigger chance of

winning. Although the seven fiefs are all independent, Princess Layla has been dismissed from the

royal family, so no one can compete with Prince Zain for the throne anymore. The leaders of the seven

fiefs, including me, have to protect themselves to make sure that the needs of our fiefs are met." Adrian

spoke in a diplomatic manner, but his words implied only one thing—no matter how daring they were,

they could not go against Zain, as that would be like going against the royal family.
