Reborn From Oblivion

Chapter 539

Cameron didn't say a word. He slipped into the driver's seat, a shadow over his face, and hit the gas, speeding off towards the psychiatric hospital. Benjamin, eaten up by curiosity, couldn't hold back. "Cameron, what's the deal? Come on, spill the beans!"

Cameron finally spoke, his tone grim. "Lately, Greta's been talking crazy, all about Nathan. She claims she knows his dirty secrets and wants him to pay big to keep her quiet. I figured she lost it after the divorce, so I had her checked in." Benjamin's eyes went wide, like he'd stumbled into some strange new world, his face a mix of confusion and eager curiosity.

"Greta's got dirt on Nathan? That's gold! If we can get her to tell us, we could stop Nathan from wrecking the future of both the Dawsons and the Rowlands."noveldrama

Cameron found Benjamin's naivety almost charming. "You're just too sweet for your own good. The Nathan Greta's talking about isn't your average guy-he's a real piece of work."

Benjamin looked horrified. "No wonder he managed to tank both our families, two of the richest in the Capital, in no time flat."

His feelings for Nathan were a twisted mix of hate and fear. "I'm dying to know what skeletons he's hiding."

At the psychiatric hospital.

When Cameron and Benjamin got there, they rushed straight to Greta's room. But what they saw left them completely stunned.

Greta was a mess, her hair all over the place, face pale, huddled in the corner of the bed. When she saw them, terror flashed across her face: "I was wrong. I was wrong. Please, don't hurt me." "Cameron, she's really lost it, hasn't she?" Benjamin sighed. "And you believed her?"

Cameron rushed over to Greta, gripping her shoulders with urgency. "Greta, what's happened to you?" His voice shook, his heart aching.

He couldn't figure out his own feelings. Even though he had every reason to hate Greta, seeing her like this tore him apart.

"Don't shock me, don't shock me."

Cameron held her close, shouting, "Greta, what on earth is going on?"

A doctor hurried over, offering an explanation to Cameron: "Her condition deteriorated rapidly, and she began self-harming. We had no choice but to use electroconvulsive therapy. It frightened her, but at least it stopped her from trying herself."

Shurt

Looking at Greta's vacant stare, Cameron remembered how she had some awareness when she first came in, but now she seemed like a stranger. He doubted the hospital's methods. en

His feelings for Greta were tangled-deep affection clashed with the bitterness of betrayal.

Before Cameron could sort through his emotions, he knew he couldn't live with Greta.

He sternly warned the doctor, "She's gotten worse every day since she arrived. How are you treating her?"

The doctor patiently explained, "Mr

Dawson, many patients experience worsening symptoms in a new environment. But don't worry, she'll ly stabilize."

Feeling defeated, Cameron waved the doctor away. "Leave us. I need to talk to my wife alone."
