Chapter 977
Chapter 977:
Allison’s rage exploded when she heard this.
“People like that don’t deserve to be Amya’s parents,” she spat.
She stepped closer to the tattooed man, pressing a dagger to his throat.
“Where are Amya’s parents now? Tell me!” she demanded.
The tattooed man swallowed nervously, his fear evident.
“They… they’re in the fishing village,” he stammered.
His body shook uncontrollably.
The cold steel of the dagger seemed ready to sever his head at any moment.
“They were deep in gambling debt. That’s why they were willing to sell their own child…”
Allison took a slow, steady breath. “For just four hundred thousand dollars?”
The tattooed man nodded, his voice bitter. “Forget four hundred thousand dollars. They’d have sold her for even forty thousand. People like them don’t care about anything. As long as they could get money, they wouldn’t care what their daughter would face.” After saying that, he quickly lowered his head.
It was clear he feared that Allison might turn her fury on him.
“I’ve told you everything I know,” he said, his voice trembling.
He glanced over at Kellan, hoping to win his favor. “Mr. Lloyd, I was a fool not to see how important you are. If you let me go, I can work for you. I’ll go undercover and help you bring down the Shadow Nine!”
Kellan looked down at him, a cold glint in his eyes. “What? Aren’t you worried Victor will kill you for betraying him?”
The tattooed man grinned nervously. “Of course not. You won’t let me die, Mr. Lloyd!”
Kellan’s expression darkened. “Sadly, you’re wrong.”
A chill ran through the air as the cold light hit Kellan’s sharp features. “I never spare traitors.”
Before the tattooed man could fully understand what was happening, Kellan gave the order. “Get rid of him. Do it quickly.”
“Understood.” Sherman moved without hesitation.
The tattooed man didn’t even have time to scream before his mouth was covered and he was dragged away.
Death was all that awaited him.
Allison glanced up. “I have to go to the fishing village to see Amya’s parents.”
Kellan nodded. “Alright, I’ll go with you.”
He gently took her hand. “It’s not worth getting upset over people like that. Your wounds haven’t healed yet.”
“I know,” she replied softly.
Allison stared into the sunlight, the cold wind biting at her face.
