Chapter 682: Vengeful Retaliation
Chapter 682: Chapter 682: Vengeful Retaliation
"Hope, I think you really need to consider what I just said."
Waylon Lewis was speechless.
Hope Williams glanced at Waylon and then explained the causes and effects to Aria Richardson.
After listening, Aria still didn’t let go of Hope, "I already know all of this."
She had inquired about it long ago.
It was mainly because Father Lewis was shot, and Waylon Lewis had to choose between Father Lewis and Hope. He chose to save Father Lewis, which ultimately led to Hope being taken away by Ted Williams and falling into the sea.
Although Aria understood that Waylon was not really wrong no matter whom he chose in that moment.
But people are naturally biased, and Hope is her only good friend. Father Lewis is a stranger to her, she understood all the reasons, but just couldn’t help being petty and upset that Waylon didn’t choose Hope.
Hope invited Aria to stay for dinner. Upon hearing that Hope was going to Y Country to see Baby, Aria excitedly asked to accompany her.
Hope didn’t refuse and booked the plane tickets, including Aria’s.
After dinner, Aria kept chatting with Hope, the two of them talking non-stop, while Waylon sat to the side unable to get a word in.
Wyatt Lewis lazily leaned against the side with a game controller, playing games with Luke and Willow. When he saw his brother looking abandoned, he couldn’t help but smirk.
Oh wow, who would’ve thought his brother would have such a day.
Feeling at a loss, Waylon called Thomas Hughes to the study.
"Boss, what do you need me for?"
Inwardly, Thomas couldn’t help but grumble, thinking he’d have the day off because the lady was back, but still got called over.
"Is Ted Williams still with Liam Cloud?"
Thomas thought for a moment, "He should be."
Three months ago, Liam Cloud took Ted Williams away from the hospital. Though it’s unclear why Liam took him, Waylon was busy looking for Hope then and knew Liam wouldn’t let Ted off easily, so he didn’t intervene.
"Boss, is there something specific you’re asking about him?"
"Find a time to get that person back from him," Waylon said in a deep voice, his dark eyes full of foreboding.
Poisoning Hope — Waylon certainly won’t let Ted Williams off easily.
He’s quite vengeful, and anyone who messes with Hope will pay back a hundredfold.
"Understood. By the way, Boss, about your schedule for tomorrow..."
"I have something tomorrow, postpone it."
Thomas nodded; he was used to the Boss prioritizing his wife, so he didn’t say much, "Understood, Boss, is there anything else?"
Waylon frowned, pondering for a moment, and sighed, "Go find a durian."
"What?"
Thomas doubted he heard it right.
Durian?
He’d worked with the Boss for so many years and had never seen him eat durian.
Plus, what would he do with a durian in the middle of the night?
Thomas took two steps forward and asked tentatively, "Boss, are you sure you want a durian?"
Waylon’s low voice replied, "Yes."
Thomas saw the Boss’s cold, unimpassioned expression, and after confirming he hadn’t misheard, could only nod, "Understood."
Hope and Aria chatted until ten o’clock.
The two talked about many things before Hope learned that Aria hadn’t had an easy time these past few months, as a significant business deal from the Richardson Clan had gone wrong, leading to considerable losses and cash flow issues, nearly facing bankruptcy.
To protect family interests and secure new investments, Father Richardson planned a marriage arrangement for Aria.
Alliance marriages are the most reliable and intimate way of exchanging commercial interests between families.
And as the eldest daughter of the Richardson Family, Aria enjoyed the family’s benefits but was expected to bear the corresponding responsibilities when crucial times came.
Especially like in the Richardson Family, where Aria has a capable older brother above her. She wouldn’t be considered a potential successor to the Group, so at critical moments for the family, inevitably she faced arranged marriages.
Aria’s nature would naturally not agree to this; Mother Richardson, who loved her daughter dearly, clashed fiercely with Father Richardson, resulting in family chaos and disputes. noveldrama
Eventually, Alexander Knox injected a billion to save the Richardson Clan at a crucial moment.
Hope sighed, not expecting that so much had happened in the three months she was away.
Wyatt Lewis paused with the game controller in hand, his gaze unintentionally darkened, as he looked back at Aria, "Why didn’t you tell me?"
Aria exchanged a glance with Hope and then looked at Wyatt, "Would it have helped if I did?"
These three months, Waylon had been busy looking for Hope and managing the company, and Wyatt too was preoccupied, with no mind to spare for anything else. If Aria hadn’t mentioned it to Hope, he wouldn’t have known.
Wyatt’s usual carefree demeanor was replaced by a solemn look. His deep-set eyes turned somber, "So, what did he ask of you?"
An injection of a billion isn’t a small sum; no one would give it for nothing.
Everyone understands this.
Aria was at a loss under Wyatt’s gaze, unexpectedly catching some urgency in his eyes, "Why are you anxious?"
Wyatt paused, "That’s none of your concern!"
Aria pursed her lips, strangely glancing at Hope, who sat aside, understanding everything but saying nothing, raising an eyebrow lightly.
"Then why do you care what he asked of me!"
What do you think?
