Chapter 1123
Chapter 1123:
People who presented themselves as flawless—gentle, elegant, without a single blemish—tended to draw even more scrutiny.
Moreover, every time Eileen clashed with Kamila or Jaliyah, Keith conveniently kept his distance, always managing to support Eileen in a seemingly reasonable way.
It appeared as though Keith was shielding Eileen, but in truth, he was pushing Kamila inch by inch toward a dead end, fueling Kamila’s hatred for Eileen.
“Bryan is still working on the matter of Marisa’s dismissal. Quite the resourceful man, I’ll give him that. He took down my most competent assistant with ease. But does it matter? He’ll only find your lifeless body already lined up for a guy.” Keith caressed the blade’s edge with chilling nonchalance. “My wife’s first love, still pining for her after all these years. With my wife imprisoned, he was angry enough to kill you—a perfect narrative.”
Eileen’s back prickled with cold sweat as she eyed the lethal blade. Yet, disappointment overshadowed her fear. “Logical, indeed. But you’ve underestimated me,” she said.
No sooner had the words left her lips than a swarm of uniformed officers appeared, surrounding Keith with weapons. Keith’s face contorted with shock. As realization dawned, he lunged toward Eileen, grasping at her sleeve.noveldrama
Anticipating Keith’s move, Eileen delivered a swift kick to his leg and attempted to dart behind him. But fate intervened—the pile of grass nearby snagged her ankle. She stumbled, landing on the muddy earth.
“Eileen!” Bryan’s voice cut through the chaos. As Eileen turned, she witnessed Keith’s knife plummeting toward her, halting mere centimeters from her body.
Bryan’s iron grip had seized Keith’s wrist. Veins bulged on the back of Bryan’s hand as he exerted crushing force, nearly crushing Keith’s bones.

The knife clattered to the ground, and Eileen scrambled to her feet, positioning herself behind Bryan, staring at this unrecognizable version of Keith with lingering terror.
Keith struggled against Bryan’s strength, but he couldn’t break free.
“You can’t do this! I’m Eileen’s biological father!” Keith bellowed, his composure shattered.
Tears welled in Eileen’s eyes as she gazed at the cold graveyard. “Before coming to Alverton, I dreamed of a complete family—of a father who cared for me. Conroy crushed half that hope. But you… YOU’ve made me wish I’d never been born. If not for me, my mother might have found genuine love, someone to protect her.”
“But fate had condemned Dottie to a lonely existence, enduring the agony of losing her daughter.”
“Keith, you are never worthy of my mother, and you’re certainly not worthy to be my father! Today, you will confess your sins before my mother!” Eileen declared, pulling out an old diary and flipping through it. The worn pages were filled with resolve.
Time had softened the elegant script in the yellowed diary, leaving behind a blurred, nostalgic trail of words. The diary chronicled the entire journey of Dottie and Keith’s relationship. The tear stains on its pages were a poignant testament to Dottie’s late-night sorrow.
The part that was torn out was where she wrote about Keith’s gambling addiction and how it had changed the way she saw him. The following entries meticulously detailed Eileen’s birth and life. Even though Eileen had only been by Dottie’s side for a short while, Dottie had written several entries about Eileen on a daily basis.
The fact that Dottie had torn up the diary in the middle suggested the start of her mental illness. The disappearance of Eileen was probably the last straw for Dottie.
