Shrouded Affections Winning Back My CEO Wife

Chapter 1133

Chapter 1133:

Bryan’s hand slid down to rest on her waist. “Don’t listen to his nonsense.”

Disappointed by his own failed attempt to stir up trouble, Jacob said, “This is boring. I came to see them quarrel.”

“Haven’t we squabbled enough at home? Why seek out more drama?” Phoebe said sharply.

Soon, Jacob and Phoebe got into an argument.

Bryan, having had enough, challenged Jacob to a game of billiards—clearly intending to teach him a lesson.

Phoebe, feeling a pang of sympathy for Jacob, said, “Bryan, please go easy on him. He’s annoying, but not a bad person.”noveldrama

Seizing the moment, Eileen engaged Benjamin and Julia in conversation.

“How’s work at the company lately?” she asked.

Julio shrugged. “Not busy.”

Benjamin shot a look of exasperation. “With the CEO idle and the general manager AWOL, I’m swamped. People might think the Ferguson Group is mine.”

“Isn’t it yours?” Julio said without hesitation. “You always get a good salary and bonuses. I’ve never shortchanged either of you.”

“Thank you then,” Benjamin replied. His demeanor had changed since his days as an assistant. He now looked like a successful businessman.

Eileen couldn’t resist teasing. “Don’t forget about marriage amidst all that work.”

Benjamin grumbled, “It’s always on my mind, but time’s the issue. You’re both happily settled—one with a family, the other just back from Alverton with a wife and son. It’s about time I considered myself.”

Hearing this, Eileen asked Julio, “Have Dolores and Emerson gotten settled in?”

“Yes,” Julio replied. “The doctor said that while Dolores’ condition is serious, it can be well-managed. As long as we keep her away from any stress, she should recover. And as for Emerson, his condition has been stable. He’s on the latest targeted treatment, and the doctor’s main concern now is Dolores’ recovery.”

The hospital wasn’t too worried about Emerson’s leukemia, given its high cure rate and his stable condition.

“Which hospital are they in?” Eileen inquired.

Julio provided the name, and Eileen said, “I’ll visit Dolores tomorrow. Coincidentally, I’m taking my grandmother for a check-up at the same place.”

Their conversation was interrupted by Jacob’s loud yelp from across the room. Bryan had Jacob pinned to the billiard table. Clearly, Jacob had said something to make Bryan angry again. Phoebe rushed to intervene, muttering, “He really does have a death wish.”

Eileen couldn’t help but chuckle. The sudden commotion, a stark contrast to Alverton’s tranquility, left her feeling overwhelmed. As she stood to leave, she pushed open the door, only to see a familiar figure—Huey.

He emerged from the neighboring private room, his arm casually slung around a man’s shoulder as they chatted and laughed. Seeing Eileen, he released his friend’s shoulder and turned to answer the call.

“I have to take care of something at the studio. You go ahead and start dinner without me. Let what my mother said… How about you head back to your room? I’ll bring you something to eat when I’m done.”
