Shrouded Affections Winning Back My CEO Wife

Chapter 863

Chapter 863:

Bryan wasn’t sure if she was playfully teasing him or just being genuine. She was still laughing. “Why are you still laughing? Now, even I won’t be able to get Conroy’s blood,” Bryan said.

Eileen stopped laughing, swung open the car door, and exited with Gabriela in her arms.

“Well, you did say you’d handle it for me, so you’ll have to manage it no matter what.”

She was clearly leaving the matter to him.

Bryan also exited the car. He casually placed a hand on Eileen’s waist. “Whose blood is in these tubes? Can you guess?” he asked.

They entered the elevator. The doors slid shut, enclosing them in silence. Bryan’s question lingered in the air.

Eileen, oblivious to the lack of needle marks on Jessica’s arm, said instinctively, “Conroy’s?”

“I think you’ve got a ninety percent chance of being right. Let me confirm it for you,” Bryan’s eyebrows shot up playfully.

The elevator dinged as they reached the top floor, and Eileen walked out, Bryan following her. Bryan gestured for her to go to his office.

He then entered Conroy’s office, pulled up a chair, and sat. He got straight to the point. “Conroy, is that project report done yet?”

“Not quite, Mr. Dawson. I’ve been swamped lately, and I can’t trust something this sensitive to just anyone. I hope you understand,” Conroy replied.

“No worries.” Bryan tapped the table. “Hand over the files. I’ll take care of it.”

Normally, Conroy wouldn’t dream of passing such a task off to Bryan, but since Bryan had offered, Conroy quickly handed the files to him.

“Thanks, Mr. Dawson,” Conroy said. “I need to tell you that on the third page of this document—” Conroy flipped to page three and pointed out a specific line to explain his point.

However, Bryan suddenly grabbed Conroy’s wrist, his grip tight. Conroy was taken aback. The next second, Bryan’s hand moved up Conroy’s arm, landing right where his daughter had drawn those three marks of blood.

“Ouch!” Conroy instinctively yanked his arm back.

“Mr. Dawson, what are you doing?”

“The fabric of your suit is good, Mr. Finch. The sleeve of your arm is made of the same material as the suit. Is it worth a lot of money?” Bryan asked calmly.

Conroy looked down at his suit, confused. What kind of suit didn’t have matching sleeves?

Still, he nodded. “Yes, it’s custom-made, quite expensive. But not as pricey as yours.”

“Naturally.” Bryan stood, looking down at the files.

“You think you still need to explain something in the files, right? Then maybe you should handle the report yourself. Hand the report to me as soon as you finish it.” With that, Bryan left and headed back to his office. He said to Eileen, “Call Raymond and ask which hospital he went to. Get your blood drawn and run a paternity test with the blood Jessica sent.”

He was now almost certain that the blood was Conroy’s.
