Chapter 2 I Thought You Was to Escape at the Last Moment
“Amanda?” Olinka waved her hand in front of her and looked at her innocently. “Are you all right? Why don’t I call my brother-in-law and tell him that you will leave early tonight? I’ll help you with the company affairs.”
In front of Amanda, Olinka asked with an innocent smile.
Amanda suppressed her emotions with her fingernails pinched. She forced out a faint smile and said, “I’m fine. Let’s get out of here first.”
If Amanda fell out with Olinka now, she would only become a joke.
“Oh, all right.” Olinka giggled. She was about to continue to hold Amanda’s hand, but Amanda dodged her hand without batting an eyelid.
The Sean Group had been in decline a few years ago. However, after Amanda Jewell married Halley Sean, under her management for three years, it had been pushed from the bottom of the list to the top few companies in Ducco.
This month, the Sean Group reached an agreement with the Byran Group, which went without saying that the Sean Group would have a bright future.
The celebration banquet had already begun when Amanda came out of the bathroom.
Amanda, however, was still wearing a work suit, which was plain and old-fashioned. When she walked into the banquet hall, no one noticed her.
In front of the crowd was a handsome man in a white suit. He was none other than Amanda’s husband, Halley Sean.
Unlike usual, Amanda picked up a glass of wine and sat in a corner.
When did Halley start dating Olinka?
How far had they been hiding from me?
Was that true Halley fell in love with Olinka, or did he think I couldn’t give birth to a child for the Sean Family?
Countless thoughts rose to the top of Amanda’s mind. Unconsciously, Amanda drank a few bottles of wine, and her consciousness gradually became fuzzy.
Amanda’s stomach churned, and she rose to her feet, planning to go outside for some fresh air.
Passing through the crowd, the corridor outside was quiet.
She pushed open the window and felt that the wind wasn’t cool enough. Thus, she removed her heels and climbed up with her hands on the window sill. The cold air blew against her glasses, and she tossed that aside. But just when she sat down on the window sill, she suddenly felt her waist tighten and bumped into someone’s embrace.
“Ahhh!”
Amanda was so scared that she woke up in an instant. She lay in a warm embrace and looked up to meet a pair of dark and icy eyes.
“… Mr. Byran?”
Amanda narrowed her eyes, and only then did she see the man in front of her. She immediately propped herself up in a panic and pushed him away.
The man in front of her was wearing a high-end black suit, and his expression was detached. His jawline was as clear and handsome as Apolo. Seeing this, he also let go of the woman’s waist. He glanced at her face indifferently and calmly. “Miss Jewell.”Published by Nôv'elD/rama.Org.
After this incident, Amanda sobered up a little and guessed that Iverson Byran must have misunderstood her. She immediately explained, “I was just here for a blow. Mr. Byran, please don’t misunderstand me.”
Although they hadn’t had much contact during this time, Amanda knew the way Mr. Byran in front of her handled things very well.
“Is that so?” Mr. Byran put one hand in his pocket and stared at her face. After a short examination, he looked away. “I thought Miss Jewell wasn’t going to take over the project and was ready to escape.”
Amanda’s cheeks turned slightly red, but she continued to smile. “Mr. Byran, you’re joking.”
A gust of cold wind blew over as soon as Amanda finished speaking. Only then did Amanda realize that she was stepping on the ground barefoot and didn’t know where she had thrown her glasses.
She had shortsightedness, and the corridor was dark. Obviously, she couldn’t find her glasses by herself.
Iverson took a deep look at the woman in front of him. After so many years, she seemed to have covered up her charms after being with Halley Sean.
