Chapter 18: Oh Juliet, my Juliet
CLYDE ‘S POV.
I needed to see her. Why the hell were they taking so long? I have been waiting for hours at the hospital. Doctors and psychiatrists were in the room with her, all-female. No male could come within 10 feet of Juliet without her screaming bloody murder. Whatever Dillon did to her, messed her up pretty bad. I am going kill that murdering, raping bitch, when I get my hands on him. I just needed to make sure that Juliet was ok.
“What the hell is taking them so long?”
I paced back and forth, wearing a hole into the hospital floor. Juliet’s Dad rested a heavy hand on my shoulder.
“Be patient son, they’re looking her over, making sure she ok. We’ll all get to see her soon.”
I nodded. I didn’t want to be patient, I wanted to see her right at that very moment. But I knew I needed to wait.
My phone ringed and I answered it.
“Hello.”
Sanity voice came over the speakers. “Clyde, is she ok? Ohmygod, I can’t believe Dillon had her all this time. I’m on my way there now. Henry and Amy are with me.”
I squeezed the phone harder when I heard Dillon’s name. “I don’t know if she’s ok. She hasn’t spoken since she was brought in, she didn’t even recognise me.”
Sanity told me she was sorry and that she was halfway to the hospital, then we said our goodbyes and hang up.
Juliet’s entire family was at the hospital with me. Ever since Juliet was kidnapped, I’ve been in contact with them every day. I called the police when I found Juliet and then her parents. Her Dad had moved back temporarily when he got the news that she was missing. We’ve been trying every day for the past four weeks to find her. With no luck.
That bastard Dillon would even come over to my house, to help figure out ways in which to find her. I’ve been to his house almost every day and he had her there all that time. That room he always kept lock, he said it was his lap. Where he experiment on things.
I never asked about it again, wanting to give him his privacy. How could I’ve been so stupid? She was right there under my nose the entire time and I never knew.
If it hadn’t been for me showing up unexpectedly at Dillon’s house. I never would have found her, who knows how long Dillon would have kept her there before he killed her.
The Doctors came out of the room and I rushed to them.
“Is she ok? Can I see her? What did that bastard do to her?” One of the Doctors looked at me and asked.
“And who are you, young man?”
I frowned angrily, is she serious? “Why the hell does it matters who I am. I just want to know if she’s effing ok!”
I yell angrily, causing a few patients and visitor to look my way. But I didn’t care. Mr Daniels stepped in to calm me down.
“Cool it, Clyde, Juliet needs you to be level headed right now, not a raving lunatic.”
I ran my hand into my hair then over my face. I took a few deep breaths to calm myself down then apologised to the Doctors.
Mr Daniels stepped forward to the Doctors. “We are Juliet’s family. I’m her father Roger and this is her boyfriend Clyde. Can you tell us if she ok, and if we can see her?”
The Doctor nodded her head, then looked at her chart. “So far she’s stable. She is seriously traumatised, from her whole ordeal. Her brain has completely shut its self-off to hurt and pain. She’s locked herself away in her head and doesn’t want to come back out.”
I swore under my breath and I heard Mrs Daniels and Jenny soft sobs behind me. The Doctor looked at us with pity then continued.
“She shows signs of repeated sexual abuse. Can I ask, was she a virgin, when she got kidnapped?”
All eyes turned to look at me. I swallowed the lump in my throat and answered.
“No. No, she wasn’t.”
The Doctor nodded her head. “I know that an experience like this would be traumatic for anyone it happened to. However, in my experience, if this form of sexual intimacy is the victim’s first sexual experience, the recovery process can be much longer. All I can say at this time is, to give her time and have lots of patience with her. With the help of counselling and lots of family support, she will slowly get better.”
I was happy that she was going to be ok. However, I was also mad that Dillon did this to her. The Doctor was still talking.
“There’s one more thing. We couldn’t get her to say a word the entire time we were in there. However, when we told her she was pregnant, she told us to get it out of her.”
Mr Daniels swore next to me and I felt like punching something.
I asked the Doctor, I just needed to know. “How far along is she?”Copyright Nôv/el/Dra/ma.Org.
She flipped through her chart then answered. “She’s eight weeks pregnant.” I sighed in relief.
“Oh, thank God.” The Doctor frowned.
“Excuse me?”
I closed my eyes and answered. “The baby, it’s mine.”
She nodded her understanding, told us it was ok to see Juliet then excused herself, with the other Doctors trailing behind her.
Sanity and the other arrived just as the Doctors walked off. They all greeted Juliet’s family, then come over to me.
“Did I hear right, Juliet’s pregnant?”
Amy asked a slight frown on her face. “And you’re the father, are you sure?”
Not really reading too much into her frown, I answered.
“Yes she is and yes I’m sure.”
Sanity came over and hugged me. “Are you alright, how are you feeling?” I hugged her back, “I’m never going to be ok, as long as she’s hurting.”
We all sat and waited for the ok to see her. Sanity was sitting in Henry’s lap and Amy was sitting next to me. She kept asking me if Juliet remembered what happened the day she was kidnapped. If I weren’t so worried about the love of my life, I would have thought her questions were suspicious.
She was sleeping. She looked so beautiful, so peaceful. I was the last to see her. I waited until her family had some time alone with her. Her father had to stay at the door, whenever he made a step to move closer to her, she started to panic. I heard him crying like a baby. It hurt him, seeing his little girl like that. We were all trying to understand, why Dillon would do something so hurtful to her.
Sanity stayed with her while Henry remained outside. Amy opted out on going in and stayed outside with us. The three left soon after Sanity came out.
I sat on the bed next to her careful not to wake her. I held her hand gently in mine, caressing it. I stroked her cheeks, then leaned and place a soft kiss on her lips, then her forehead,
“O Juliet, my Juliet. Wherefore art thou Juliet?” She signed when I kissed her lips again. I was reluctant to leave but, I did anyway. Dillon needed to die.
