Stuck In The Wrong Marriage

Chapter 74

Happy reading..

Elena took a deep breath before continuing to walk into her husband’s work. She placed a tray containing two glasses of hot tea and small snacks on a round table not far from Jayden’s desk.

“You said you were on leave from our wedding, then why are you still working?” Elena asked folding her legs while propping her body on the couch.

“There are some jobs that just can’t wait, honey. I’m sorry,” Jayden said with a guilty look on his face.

Elena’s right. Now they should be spending time together, but Jayden can’t ignore the affairs of the Alatha Center either. Elena smiled faintly then got up to approach Jayden. The woman swayed spoiled hugging Jayden from behind.

“That’s okay. But, I’m still looking forward to a romantic honeymoon, Jay,” Elena said in a tone that was made as sweet as possible.

“Of course. We will do it but not now. I still have too much work that I can’t leave anytime soon. Even my leave is only until today,” Jayden said stroking Elena’s hand that was wrapped around his neck gently. Actually it was an act of seduction so Elena would not be angry.

Elena took a deep breath and smiled faintly. “All right. I’ll wait for that time to come,” she rewarded Jayden with a brief kiss on the cheek. After that, the woman headed towards the round table to enjoy tea, which was probably already getting cold.

“Jay, drink your tea first,” Elena said.

“Okay.”This content © Nôv/elDr(a)m/a.Org.

Jayden joins Elena. Even if it’s only for a short time, the important thing is that they can spend time together.

As per today’s schedule Jayden is back at work after his marriage leave with Elena. The congratulations from the employees continued to pour in as Jayden arrived at his office. The man could only say thank you with a sweet smile.

“How are things at the Alatha Center now?” asked Jayden after sitting himself down in his oversized chair.

“Everything went according to plan, sir,” Roy answered firmly.

Jayden smirked. “Good. If it continues like this the luxury apartment will be completed on schedule,” he said, looking at the computer screen that displayed dozens of photos from his big project.

“Yes, sir,” replied Roy.

A few seconds passed, Jayden thought Roy would soon come out of his room. But the man was still standing there.

“What’s wrong, Roy? Is there anything else you want to tell me?” Jayden asked curiously.

“Yes, sir.”

“Say it.” Jayden turned his attention to Roy.

“I heard that your son has been allowed to go home, sir,” said Roy.

“Is that true?” Jayden asked, unable to hide his surprise. The man immediately got up from his seat after Roy nodded confirming what he said earlier. A feeling of happiness welled up in Jayden’s heart even when he was in the hospital.

But for a few seconds as his body stood in front of the door, Jayden’s happy face turned blank. He stopped when he saw the scenery inside.

Hera smiled happily, but that wasn’t what made Jayden flinch. Precisely to whom Hera gave that smile that made him feel a slight pain in his chest.

Haidar Pratama. The man who was also smiling happily beside Hera.

Jayden took a deep breath before opening the door making everyone in the room stare at him. There was no welcome or sign of him being kicked out. They; Hera, Haidar, Anne, Andrew who sat in a wheelchair and Ara were silent as they watched Jayden start walking into the room.

“Juan,” Jayden whispered to Juan who was smiling happily to greet him. Although several medical devices are still attached to his body, Juan looks fine.

“Thank goodness you’re healed son,” Jayden said with tears in his eyes. He was really happy to see the smile on his son’s face again.

Feeling that Jayden needed time with his child, Hera and the others chose to leave the room. Being left like that made Jayden feel like a stranger even more. The man smiled crookedly.

Unlucky! Why does it hurt so bad? Jayden whispered in his heart while holding his chest which felt very painful.

“Hera!” called Anne once they were out of the room.

“Hmm?”

“Mom and Dad had better go home first. Your Dad seems to be getting tired,” said Anne, adjusting the position of the scarf that Andrew was using a little. Hearing that Juan was allowed to go home made the couple rush to the hospital. Even though it has to be postponed until tomorrow because doctor Emi still wants to control Juan’s condition. Even so, it doesn’t make their gratitude and happiness fade, but it makes them come unprepared.

“I’ll take you home.”

Before Hera could answer, Haidar had already preceded her. The woman couldn’t help but smile at her boyfriend’s attitude.

“All right. Be careful on the road,” Hera replied.

“Then we’ll take our leave,” said Anne, walking ahead. While Haidar followed behind after stealing a kiss on Hera’s cheek. The woman’s eyes widened in surprise.

“I will be right back!” said Haidar jogging with his mischievous face while waving at Hera.

Oh Lord! Hera was very embarrassed because Ara witnessed this. The woman was so embarrassed that Ara chuckled.

“It’s okay, Madam Hera. I didn’t see anything,” Ara joked, which only made Hera blush even more.

“Hey, stop it!” said Hera sulking with her cute blushing face.

Not long after the departure of Anne, Andrew and Haidar, Jayden left Juan’s ward.

“He’s asleep again.” Jayden’s first words. Hera just nodded slowly in response.

“I will go in to look after Juan,” said Ara saying goodbye, not wanting to be in the awkward atmosphere of the ex-husband and wife. Hera herself also did not want to be trapped any longer. She intended to leave Jayden there but stopped when the man spoke again.

“Why didn’t you tell me that Juan was allowed to go home already?” he asked.

“Because even without me telling you, you would know, Jayden,” answered Hera without showing any meaningful expression.

Jayden took a deep breath. “But, at least I know from you.”

“What’s the difference?”

It’s different, Hera. Because you contacted me.

Jayden really wanted to say that to Hera. But of course that stupid action will make his pride tarnished. Until in the end the man could only remain silent.

“No difference, right?” Hera said again pulling the corners of her lips slightly. “By the way, thank you for taking your time to come to see Juan,” she continued.

“Of course I’ll come. Juan is my son,” Jayden said.

Hera nodded slowly. Thankful because even though they have separated now Jayden still cares for Juan. At least what Hera feared where Juan would lack affection from his biological father didn’t happen.

“Yes. Then I’ll go in first,” said Hera, getting up. But suddenly her body fell when someone pushed her.

“Akh!” Hera grinned softly then turned to see who had pushed her.

“You selfless woman! How dare you approach my husband!” snapped the woman as she glared at Hera.

“Elena….”

To be continue…..
