The Billionaire's Regret

Chapter 84

Chapter 84

Don Reed’s face was sad and depressed, his jaw clenched, and he grimaced coldly. He was so irritated by this father-daughter duo that he gnashed his teeth and asked, “Chairman Morgan, what else do you have in store for us? I’ve had enough of this incredible show!” With everything that happened at the gala, it was clear that the Morgans were intentionally shaming the Reeds. It’s no surprise Ivy was so fearless when I complained to Leo Morgan in her office that day. Now that I think about it, she purposefully played me! Don Reed pondered. Leo Morgan cast a glance at Wyatt Reed, who maintained his noble and serene persona. He managed to be unfazed by everything that happened at such a young age, which was a rare skill. Leo Morgan would probably accept such a man as his son-in-law if it weren’t for Wyatt’s untidy love life and him hurting Ivy so many times that made Leo Morgan maintain distance from him. “I’m not sure where your rage is coming from, Chairman Reed. My princess married your grandson in order to become a lowly maid in your household. Even after their divorce, she became the most despised person on the internet, receiving insults on a daily basis. Don’t you think you owe us an explanation?” Leo Morgan’s tone was bitterly cold. Don Reed became stiffened. Eva and Piper were both taken aback. Does Leo Morgan intend to bring Ivy over to settle accounts? Wyatt had a subtle frown on his face and deep eyes as he looked at Ivy, who was standing next to Leo. She was staring at Leo’s royal blue sapphire brooches and tugging on her father’s suit as if she was bored. She appeared hesitant to come over and was unwilling to even look at them for a moment. Wyatt was taken aback from the moment she stepped onto the stage. It’s just that he kept it all hidden at the bottom of his heart. Ivy’s bizarre behavior following their divorce seemed to make sense at the time. Everything became reasonable and proper. This shocking revelation appeared out of nowhere. Don Reed snorted. His expression worsened. “Ivy kept her identity hidden, so how would we know she’s your daughter?” he fired back at Leo and used this as an excuse to leave. All content is property © NôvelDrama.Org.

Leo smirked and retorted sternly. “Do you mean to say that the harsh treatment she received at your place was our fault? I was opposed to her liking Wyatt and wanting to marry him at the time, but she went ahead with the marriage anyway. I was so enraged for three years that I cut off all contact with her. I assumed it would be fine as long as she was happy, but I never imagined that your family didn’t even consider her as a human being!” “She’s well-fed and has a roof over her head, so how is she being mistreated?” Eva exclaimed in panic. “We were nice to her, but she didn’t thank us and even lied to us? How can we not be enraged?” Leo’s face hardened, and he was about to say something when Ivy pulled on his clothes. She snorted coldly, full of hatred and contempt. “Even if it’s the fault of the entire world, it has nothing to do with your family, right? I asked for it, so I deserve to be despised and subjected to your hatefulness. I have earned the right to use my own blood in exchange for som’s love. It has served me well to have been a fool for the past three years. Is that what you’re saying? Pardon me to say this... I’m not a giving person, so in the future, I’ll have to return what I’ve received in smaller amounts, an eye for an eye. a tooth for a tooth.” Ivy clenched her teeth and didn’t try to hide her frustration. Do they believe she will just forget about the past? That she had been able to forget those embarrassments? If the opportunity arises, she will undoubtedly respond! Eva’s brow furrowed. Don Reed glared at Eva and was irritated by her chatter, so Eva slumped back in fear and dared not speak again. Alice Perez, who had been standing to the side silently the entire time, took a bold step forward. “Ivy, I know you despise me,” she said, her voice soft and weak, “I was the one who drained so much of your blood. It has absolutely nothing to do with the Reeds. If you want, just come to me. I don’t think Wyatt would have treated you this way if we hadn’t known you were the heiress of Morgan Corporation. Since what has been done is done, I hope you will forgive us.”

Alice’s pompous sense of superiority when she looked at Ivy in the past was significantly different from her current position, despite her resentment of Ivy’s true identity. They resembled heaven and hell. Alice despised Ivy’s luck. How come Ivy has access to things that others do not? No matter what happened, Wyatt is only mine, she thought. Ivy cast a sidelong glance at Alice, thinking, she really knows how to get involved in the drama, huh? Ivy scoffed, “This is not a place for trash. Who are you to speak here?” Alice Perez’s face stiffened. Ivy’s candor surprised her. She glared at Wyatt, but he didn’t return her gaze. His gaze had been fixed on Ivy from the start, and he had been reticent. Alice clenched her fists and hung her head quietly. Don Reed did not look at her and had no intention of assisting her. “Chairman Morgan, even if we did something wrong, it’s all water under the bridge now,” Don Reed said, his face melancholy. “They’re already divorced, so there’s no reason to make a big deal about it, right?” Leo was attempting to contain his rage. He was so irritated that he wondered how his daughter had put up with them for the past three years. He immediately summoned the two waiters who were nearby and pointed to Alice Perez. “Could you please ask this young lady to leave?” Alice’s face turned pale as she looked up in a panic. Leo’s tone was stern. “My daughter does not want to see trash, so reassure her to leave.” “Wyatt…” Alice attempted to request assistance. Wyatt’s brows knitted together as he looked at her, then he reminded her in a cold voice. “The driver has been waiting outside for you. Request that he send you back.” Ivy arched her brow. She had no idea Wyatt would send Alice off like that. Is he willing to simply abandon her? A man’s heart was complicated to understand! Eva and Piper, who had brought Alice Perez over on their own accord, became alarmed when they

saw the situation. They hid behind the frowning Don Reed, not daring to say anything. Leo’s emotions quickly changed. He’d already put on his usual detached, pleasant smile. “Chairman Reed, all of Ivy’s frustrations can be set aside for the time being, but what about those recent rumors circulating on the internet? I believe you’re the best person to come forward and clear those matters, don’t you?” Although Ivy’s identity reveal was sufficient to clear her name of the scandals, having the Reeds come forward to issue a statement forced them to admit their error. Coldly, Don Reed growled. “Is that really necessary?” “If you do not even show your sincerity in apologizing, I will be forced to terminate all cooperation with Reed Corporation, including all stocks, funds, and investment projects. You don’t have to bear the losses of detaching our ties if you can spend as much money as Morgan Corporation,” Leo delivered his words heartlessly. In an instant, Don Reed’s face turned cold and glum. Reed Corporation had plenty of cash, but Morgan Corporation had even more. If Morgan Corporation withdrew its investments suddenly, Reed Corporation would experience difficulties distributing funds to cover the holes. These were huge sums, and if Reed Corporation did not have enough cash flow, they would have to bear all of these losses. “I’ll think about it.” Don Reed clenched his teeth, turned around, and walked away. Ivy grinned and added, “Chairman Reed, remember to visit the National Museum regularly in the future!” What a devastating blow! Don Reed’s body jolted, and he nearly collapsed. Fortunately, he was restrained on the side by Piper, so he shook with rage and walked away without looking back. Leo laughed softly and looked at Ivy. “You cheeky little rascal!” Ivy smiled mischievously and pulled Leo’s arm as they turned to leave. They didn’t expect to see Wyatt Reed still there.

“Why aren’t you leaving with them, Mr. Reed?” Wyatt Reed remained deafeningly silent as he slowly and meaningfully read out her name. “Ivy Gaile Morgan,” he says. Ivy cocked her brow. “Chairman Morgan, may I please speak to her alone?” Wyatt asked, looking at Leo. Wyatt realized why Leo Morgan refused to be addressed as “Uncle Leo” earlier. Leo, it turned out, did not want to be involved in any kind of personal connection with Wyatt. Leo looked at his unamused daughter. Ivy then drew the corners of her lips together in mockery. “Sure,” he replied. Leo knew deep down that that jerk would never hurt his daughter again. Ivy would not have been so steadfast if she had not been so determined. “Don’t take too much time. I want to introduce you to some other industry veterans.” Leo gave Wyatt a deep look and walked away after saying that. “What do you want to talk about, Mr. Reed?” Ivy drew a glass of red wine from a tray held by a passing waiter. As she swayed the merlot liquid in her hand, she noticed its rich color and aroma. Wyatt’s gaze was drawn to Ivy’s face. His voice was deep and enticing. “Why did you hide your identity to marry me?”
