Chapter 2086
Lysander was straining his brain, trying to pinpoint the exact moment he had made that statement, and how on earth Thalassa had overheard it. But no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't recall. After an accident that left him with a severe head injury and in a coma for three years, it wasn't surprising that some memories had simply faded away.
"Hey, if you can't remember, don't sweat it. Let bygones be bygones. I trust you, and I won't jump to conclusions anymore," Thalassa said, noticing the effort Lysander was putting into recalling the past. He looked frustrated, a clear sign he hadn't remembered anything.
Quickly, she looped her arm through his, offering him a reassuring smile, which Lydia mirrored. Recalling Lysander's ordeal the accident, the coma, and his miraculous recovery-Thalassa couldn't help but feel worried. Even though he seemed to have recovered physically, there had been moments when he struggled to rise after kneeling.
"Let's visit Dr. Funke's clinic," she suggested, masking her concerns with a pretense of visiting her aunt who worked there. "Why don't we stop by Dr. Funke's clinic? It's been a while since I've seen my aunt, and we should share our good news with her," she said, referring to their marriage without directly mentioning her wish to have Lysander checked once more.
"Why go to the clinic?" Lysander asked.
"It's been so long since I've seen my aunt. Can't we just visit her? Plus, we're married now, and we should definitely share the happy news with her," Thalassa replied, successfully convincing Lysander.
"Yes, we should visit your aunt and tell her the news," Lysander agreed, his voice warm.
Thalassa smiled and leaned on his
shoulder, their closeness natural and intimate, with no trace of
awkwardness. David, their long-time driver, caught a glimpse of them, through the rearview mirror. Their affection and deep bond brought a smile to his face. He had driven Lysander for many years and had witnessed the evolution of their relationship. Seeing them this happy and in love was a joy, even for him as an outsider.
Soon, the car pulled into the clinic's parking lot. Thalassa, still holding Lysander's arm, led the way inside They didn't see Dr. Funke or Astrid Pendleton immediately, but instead heard the dramatic cries of a man in pain, mixed with oddly suggestive tones.
"Ow, ow, be gentle, please!" the man wailed from one of the private rooms. The voice was oddly familiar.
Thalassa and Lysander exchanged curious glances. Who would make such a fuss over a medical examination? Could Dr. Funke's treatment methods have become unbearably painful?
As they walked towards the source of the noise, they heard a woman's stern voice. "Shut up! I'm not even hurting you that much. What are you screaming about?" The voice was unmistakably Lydia's.
Recognizing Lydia's voice, Thalassa
quickened her pace, eager to see what was happening. The scene unfolding before them was far from a typical day at the clinic, sparking mix of concern and curiosity in both their hearts. All content is © N0velDrama.Org.
