Chapter 2430
Jada laughed. "You don't get it, huh? Men don't like girls who are too liberal or too conservative. They like them conservative but liberal!"
"What's that supposed to mean?" Moxxi asked in confusion.
"Go wrap your head around it!"
Moxxi rolled her eyes and turned to Frank. "What's gotten into you, Mr. Frankton?"
It turned out that it was not just the crowd-Moxxi was left bemused to see that Frank was taken by the girl's charm too.
Still, Frank simply chuckled. "I recognize her from when I went to that cafe to meet Elizabeth's contact. Do you recall, Jada?"
Jada smiled. "Of course!"
Moxxi realized with a start-so that was why Frank was reacting like that. And here she thought that Frank was no different from the rest!
Still, Jada was bemused. "She said that she's a student and came to town traveling. What is she doing here?"
"What else could she be doing?" Moxxi snorted. "She must be a backpacker who has run out of money. I mean, just look at that getup!"
Just as Moxxi finished, Jada turned and saw that while Demi Oakleaf was really dressed plainly. Despite her good looks, she really looked average with that type of fashion!
Soon, the music played and everyone happily danced along to the tune. With Demi's melodious voice on top of that, the atmosphere certainly livened up.
Moxxi got up and started dancing to the rhythm too and felt stupid when she noticed halfway that neither Frank nor Jada were moving.
"Not your cup of tea, huh?" she asked, bemused.
Jada and Frank shook their heads at the same time.
"Me neither!" Moxxi nodded, lying through her teeth.
Soon, Demi finished her song, and everyone applauded.
The crowd was clearly approving, with some gifting her flowers or bottles of alcohol!
Some were snorting at the latter, as gifting alcohol went out of style decades ago since it was embarrassing.
Demi remained calm and smiled. "I'm sorry, I really can't drink. Please take it back."noveldrama
Before the waiter could do so, someone yelled, "What?! Are you disrespecting our boss now?!"
Everyone turned to see that it was a tall, pudgy man with a dragon tattoo on his left cheek-clearly not the type to be taken lightly.
Still, seeing that there was a situation arising, the manager quickly intervened. "No, please don't misunderstand, sir. The lady just can't hold her liquor, and someone's
brought this gentleman a couple of bottles and some snacks already on the house."
Times had changed, and singers were not obliged to entertain guests.
If things got out of hand, even the manager might end up in jail, which was why he was quickly taking the singer's side.
Moreover, would the club survive if they really kept this up? They were in the middle of a town, so it did not matter what connections they had they would be subject to investigation!
"Fuck off!"
Dragon Tattoo was not having it, snapping, "Either chug, or I'll tear this place down!"
The manager snorted.
While he had never met anyone like Dragon Tattoo before, he was clearly
insignificant. Whoever gave him the balls to talk like that?
But since he was a guest, the
manager decided against causing a scene and chuckled. "Sir, please be understanding and forgive our
mistake this one time!"
Dragon Tattoo merely escalated matters, smirking. "Sure, then get down on your
knees and start begging!"
What do you think?
