The Most Powerful Godfather Becoming Billionaire Heir!

Chapter 2

Chapter 2 The Heir

Jane's face turned beet red as soon as she saw Alexander pull out a bundle of rope.

She panted.

"What are you going to do?" She asked, her voice shaking a bit.

Grinning, Alexander got closer to her, looking eerily calm.

"This is just the start. You've been bullying me for five years, and I won't let you off easy. I won't kill you, but I'll make sure you pay, bit by bit!" With that, he turned and strode away, leaving Jane dumbfounded.

Thirty minutes later, Alexander arrived at the hospital.

His daughter, Ashley Hawthorne, was recovering from an injury there.

The weight of his wife's betrayal was heavy on his shoulders, but at least he was the heir to the Godfather's legacy now.

Just then, a stunning woman approached, swaying her hips with confidence.

"Mr. Hawthorne," she said respectfully, "The Godfather is looking for you. You're one of the three heirs. Please follow me." Alexander's heart raced.

Too much had happened recently, and he felt overwhelmed.

Suddenly, the ringing of a phone shattered the tense silence.

The beautiful woman handed him the phone.

And with shaking hands, he answered the call.

Then, an old man's voice reached his ears.

"Son, congrats! You're finally back. You'll be competing with your two brothers to prove you're the best if you want the whole inheritance."

"In the following year, you'll be the chairman of the Saint Group. Double its value from 100 billion. And don't get yourself killed."

"If you fail, you'll lose everything, or worse."

Before Alexander could say a word, the call ended.

The call nearly blew his mind. All rights © NôvelDrama.Org.

Somehow, he became the chairman of the Saint Group, the company Jane's lover, Ryan Hawkins was dying to impress.

On the one hand, he had to double the group's value in a year, which was just impossible.

On the other hand, he'd got two brothers who would love to see him dead...

At the thought, Alexander felt his head was buzzing.

"Mr. Hawthorne, watch out!"

Suddenly, the pretty woman lunged at him, knocking him to the ground.

In the blink of an eye, the deafening sound of a gunshot blasted through the air.

A burly man who had just drawn his weapon fell to the ground.

He had a big hole in his chest, and blood was gushing out of it.

With a twisted grin, he managed to utter, "Mr. Augustine Hawthorne sends his regards. You're not fit to compete with him for the Godfather position..." Alexander froze, staring in horror at the dying man who had been shot by the sniper.

Blood gushed from the man's wound, painting a gruesome picture.

"Mr. Hawthorne, don't be afraid! I got your back!" the beautiful woman reassured him.

Later, she helped him sit up and ordered her men to clean up the scene.

Still in shock, Alexander finally recognized her.

He had seen her on the news before.

She was Anne Hollister, the secretary of the Saint Group's chairman.

Not only was she stunning, but she was also sharp as a tack and deadly with a gun. She must've contributed a lot to the rise of the Saint Group in the business world. Meanwhile, Anne was studying Alexander.

She was surprised that the Godfather's illegitimate son was just an ordinary guy.

"Mr. Hawthorne, you're the chairman now. Here, please take the 500 thousand dollars for Ms. Hawthorne's medical expenses," Anne said. Then she gestured to a black-clad man next to her.

The man opened a briefcase filled with crisp bills, the scent of fresh ink wafting through the air.

Alexander rubbed his temples, muttering, "Can you all just give me a moment? I need to think... And please, keep my identity under wraps." Anne waved her hand, and everyone quietly exited the room.

Later on, she reached the rooftop of the hospital, making a video call.

"Godfather, what else can I do for you?" She asked.

On the screen was an elderly man in a chair.

His silver hair glinted in the dim light.

Even from behind, his presence radiated a chilling aura of authority and danger.

He coughed a few times, then waved his hand dismissively without turning around.

"The clock is ticking. In a year, we'll see whether he's a dragon or just a worm."

With a heavy sigh, he continued, "Hope Alexander won't get taken out by his brothers."

"Only the strongest gets to survive and claim the title of Godfather. It's our family's destiny. After all, he carries my blood."

"Yes, Godfather," Anne replied, her expression a mix of concern and determination.

Alexander was nothing more than an average guy from the bottom while his brothers were on the contrary.

Augustine Hawthorne and Anthony Hawthorne both owned multinational companies worth hundreds of billions. And both of them were brutal.

So, Anne didn't have high hopes for Alexander.

However, ever since he took over the Saint Group, they'd been in the same boat.

Whether it was Augustine and Anthony winning the contest, she would be silenced for good.

Anne hesitated before speaking again. "Godfather, Mr. Hawthorne asked me to keep his identity a secret and not to announce his position as chairman of the Saint Group. It's strange, isn't it? Why would he want that?"
