Chapter 200
The hospital room fell into an awkward silence.
Lucian, with a stern look on his face, confronted Evelina, "Now that we're alone, why did you cheat? It's such a disappointment."
Even though Evelina denied it, the truth was clear to everyone.
Alaric felt let down too. Today, he suddenly realized Evelina seemed different from the person he thought he knew.
Cheating, lying, and blaming others. If it weren't for the crystal clear footage from the surveillance cameras, he might never have believed Evelina capable of cheating!
Had he been misled by Evelina before? The thought was too disturbing for Alaric, and he couldn't even dare to glance at Lemira, feeling utterly unsettled.
Evelina, choking back tears, protested, "I didn't cheat. A friend begged me to pass her the answers. I couldn't refuse it so I...."
Before she could finish, Evelina fainted.
Lemira, witnessing this fake angel's act, rolled her eyes in disdain.
Asher was concerned, "Eve's fainted! Get a doctor, quick!"
Lemira grabbed Lucian's glass of water and splashed it right on Evelina's face. Asher raised his voice, "Eve's already out cold, what are you trying to do?" Evelina remained with her eyes shut tight, refusing to wake up.
Lemira coldly declared, "Not waking up, huh? Fine, I'll splash you with boiling water next."
Frightened by the threat, Evelina immediately woke up, only to realize Lemira had no boiling water in hand.
Tricked! Evelina's face twisted in embarrassment, and then she tearfully said, "Lemmy, why would you do that?"
"Just helping you wake up after I saw you passed out. You should be thankful."
Lemira set the cup down, "Until you explain yourself, no more fainting. Or next time, I might just use pee."
Evelina was furious, "Why are you treating me like this? I'm a victim in this! It's my fault for being too soft-hearted and agreeing to pass on answers for a friend. If I knew it would come to this, I never would have done it." As long as she insisted it was all to hand over answers for helping a friend, even if she faced consequences, she could clear her name.
She definitely couldn't let anyone find out she intended to cheat!
Asher shouted, "Enough, both of you!"
He couldn't believe his family had turned into such a mess. No wonder Lucian ended up in the hospital.
Asher said, "Lucian, you rest up. I'll take these two home."
Family matters shouldn't be aired in public.
Lucian, worried, attempted to get up, "I'll come with you."
Alaric walked over, "Lucian, you should stay. I'll go and check on them. Don't worry."
He was determined to protect Lemira now. It was his way of making amends for past mistakes.
Yet, Lemira stood her ground; she eyes, her gaze merciless,

"When

I I did I say I was going back to gston mansion?"
Her visit today was merely for a
meeting. If it weren't for Hogan's et
kindness in her past life, she
uldn't have bothered coming to the hospital at all.
Still, witnessing Evelina getting caught cheating wasn't a total waste of her time.
Asher was seething, "Lemira, if you walk out now, the Langston family will disown you!"
Lemira scoffed, "That's exactly what I want!" She was done entangling herself with the Langston family.
"Lemmy, don't go!"
Lucian stumbled out of bed to grab Lemira, his eyes blood-red, his tone pleading, "Asher was just angry, please don't leave!"
He realized his mistake. He wanted to make things right.Content (C) Nôv/elDra/ma.Org.
Seeing Lucian's pallor, Lemira spoke coolly, "If you want me to stay, on one condition."
"Anything, even the stars in the sky, I will fetch them for you!"
Lucian was overjoyed, believing deep down Lemira still cared
them. As long as she would forgive
them that was all that net
Lemira's eyes narrowed impassively, "The Langstons can only have one girl. Evelina or me, you choose, Lucian."
