He started the car and drove off.

Charlotte chatted with Ava for a while, telling her about Camille's visit earlier.

After listening, Ava asked, "So, what are you thinking?"

Charlotte sighed. "I'm feeling a little lost right now, so I just wanted your opinion."

Ava's voice turned serious. "Are you thinking about getting Sebastian out of it or making him take control of Hardwick Group?"

Charlotte blinked, her thoughts suddenly shifting. "Ava, I think I know what to do now!"

Ava laughed softly, her wrinkles softening in the warmth of her smile. "Well, it's about time you figured it out. Not too bad. At least when things get tough, you know to come to me for advice."

"Much better," Ava replied. "I have to say, this rehabilitation center is pretty nice. I'm really enjoying my stay here. But, you better work hard and earn money, kid. I hear this place isn't cheap. Once you're divorced from Arthur, you'll need to support me by yourself."

Charlotte lifted her chin proudly. "Don't worry, I'll take good care of you. I have earned more than enough for us!"noveldrama

Ava chuckled. "Alright, I'm off to play cards. Talk later!"

The call ended abruptly, and Charlotte smiled, shaking her head.

She felt amused that her grandma didn't even wait for a proper goodbye.

With one problem out of the way, Charlotte felt her mood lighten considerably.

Later that evening, when she saw Sebastian, her smile was so bright it made him wonder if the girl who had sounded so down on the phone earlier that day was really the same one standing before him.

"Have you ordered yet?" he asked with a smile, sitting down.

"Yep." Charlotte nodded, then asked, "Aren't you bringing your girlfriend? Where is she?"

She looked around, expecting to see her.

Sebastian shook his head. "She had a family emergency, so she had to leave early. I will introduce you two next time."

"Fine." Charlotte looked a little disappointed. After all, it was her brother's girlfriend, and she was curious, after all.

She handed the menu to Sebastian. "Here, order whatever you want."

As he looked over the menu, Sebastian asked, "How was your day? The opening went smoothly?"

"Not bad," Charlotte replied with a smile, recounting the day's events to him.

Sebastian listened attentively, his eyes soft with affection. He felt that after being free from the Hardwick family and Arthur, she seemed so much more alive now. It was as though a weight had been lifted off her shoulders.

"Have you ever thought about taking full control of Hardwick Group?" Charlotte suddenly asked.

Sebastian paused for a moment, then chuckled wryly. "I've thought about it, but my shares are too small. Most of the stock is still in my parents' hands. I don't have much say in the company. Most of the decisions are made by James."

"I can help you get the shares," Charlotte's eyes sparkled. "If you take control of Hardwick Group, you won't be under their thumb any more. They won't have anything to use against me either."

Sebastian frowned. "How do you plan to do that? Are you going to ask Arthur for help? If it means you'll have to compromise, I'd rather quit. I'll leave Hardwick Group and do something else. I can make it on my own."
